You realy don't get for every 1 that speaks 20+ of the same ideals will stay silent. I have a ton of friends that would love to have new ending but have not joind the Take Back ME3 on face book.

I am not on face book much (lent) so I have not joined the movement yet.

If you want to prove we are the minority bring on the people who want to keep the ending to stop us... If they wont then they would probably be fine with a change or expantion to it.

Well I don't feel bad for him, although his video about the ending and us being morons was really stupid.

The biggest flaw with this logic is that it assumes that all things being equal, those who say nothing obviously like it. According to that one marketing guy's post that came out here, he pointed out that for every one consumer complaining, they likely represent 10 who don't and simply stay silent and won't buy the next game.

So my guess, I'm betting the numbers of people who don't like the endings is a lot closer to 600,000, a quarter to a third of the audience. Also we have to take into account that stats show the majority of gamers don't finish games, so there's that - they will never know.

And that leads into a sad discussion about whether endings even matter in videogames because so few reach them.

Others are tackling this too. I found this, though well it ends . . . I'll let you get there if you do.

Most national polls that concern national subjects such as abortion of childcare are composed of 1000, 3000, 5000, or in some rare cases 10000 respondents.

60000 respondents all saying the same thing means there are a metric ****ton of people unhappy with the endings. Way more than this site. The 80% dropoff in revenue after a week is also pretty irrefutable, as is the number of copies being turned in for resale.

Some of us aren't even vocal at all, because it's all terribly redundent now.

But we're unhappy. And sad. Mostly sad. :(

all that chart truly symbolizes are the amount of fans who never played the first or second game and the amount of fans who have accepted the indoctrination theory. Once the indoc theory gets thrown out and these fans play the first two games the numbers will reverse.

ah see! His opinion is backed by an all powerful pie chart!
Sort of like how the ending is backed by an all powerful god-child!
MUST BE TRUE!!
92% of the fanbase is WRONG

2/10 because I will say this:

Your analysis is incredibly flawed on oh so many issues. I think the best is that you assume that only members of an organization can have an opinion that organization defends. That's why I'm against amnesty international. I don't donate or follow them, so I obviously love torture!

I've seen better ad populum argument. I suppose you can get a few points for making a pie chart. Very Powerpoint thinking. You'll definitely go far in Cerberus.

3% of the people who bought the game have joined one particular facebook page or followed one particular twitter account to protest the endings? That is freaking MASSIVE. Seriously. The vast majority of people against the endings won't do either of these things, I know I haven't, and my friends haven't either. Mainly because most people don't use twitter at all, and are generally unwilling to clog up their facebook page with more liked crap. I would be curious to know what this would climb to if you added all the other facebook pages I'm sure have been made, as well as everybody who tweeted about it at all.

Even that would still only be a fraction of the total number of people dissatisfied with the ending.

I'd like to see a chart comparing EA's expected weekly sales vs. actuals. I would also like to see expected server activity vs. actual. Also their future projections of DLC sales would be handy to compare against actuals if they even bother to release any.

EDIT: I am not on Facebook so please adjust your chart to 66,001 to include me.

Just out of curiosity, I see this "troll" phrase overused on BSN, lately. Why do people call those they disagree with trolls?

Er, this guy is using complete BS logic to try an elicit responses. That's the definition of a troll.

Ah, yes, the "silent majority." It's an old hat argument to make and one that has no more or less statistical basis than any given internet poll: all it indicates is that some people aren't as passionate about the game.

Personally, I'm sure a lot of people didn't mind the ending. But I didn't expect to hate it, despite the bad press, and I still ended up finding numerous problems with it.

Read all about it! And see the cool chart!

I am really trying not to sound like a troll, but:

What kind of unprofessional journalisem is that? And what kind of noname site is that?

Has it anyone ever occured that the Retake Movement is just one Group and not everyone, or has it ever anyone occured that some people just don't sign up or even visit Facebook? Or haven't even heard of the Retake Movement. Its not like they advertise.

Seriously, that Blog entry, no matter how "professional" it looks or wants to appear, is really hardly anything more than everyone Forum post on this board.

The only way to get an accurate number would be for Bioware to start a poll through Mass Effect 3. Using origin to distrubute a quick page upon logging in for everyone that has unlocked the Newgame + option. They have to have seen the ending.

But then again, who would believe Bioware if they'd release those numbers, its not like there is any kind of neutral party involved.

Oh ans just for the record: I wouldn't be caught dead on a Facebook page, let alone am i part of the Retake Movement, and i am still very much disenfranchised and upset about the Ending. And i am not the only one i know, though i am the only one that cares enough to post about it and voice it.
