How scientific.

It's no more scientific then people using the 6% arguement under the assertion that the silent portion eequated with it actually have the same issue with the product as what the arguement is being used for. Both are suppositinal and biased.

And neither are very scientific.

You may want to check your sarcasm meter. ;)

This is a group called Save Africas Children has 3.986 likes. So, following the same logic, the other 6 billion people or at least the other 845 million facebook users don't give a damn about the african children?

have you been outside? have you met some of these people in society? some of them would sacrifice their own children for success, fame, glory. You think a busy person cares about the homeless kid on the street infront of them, let alone the ones in other countries?

Can't find the group anymore, but there used to be pro-ending group on Facebook. It had about 200 members.

Thus, by this pie charts logic, only 200 people liked the ending. Everyone else hated it.

AIN'T STATISTIC FUN!?

Statistics is the art of lying with numbers. It's fantastic how can you manipulate stuff with a beautiful pie chart.
How big is the "I LOVE THE ENDING" community?
So, let's take another example; www.facebook.com/SaveAfricasChildren.

This is a group called Save Africas Children has 3.986 likes. So, following the same logic, the other 6 billion people or at least the other 845 million facebook users don't give a damn about the african children?

Even more; let's take this online poll as an example. news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57402711-1/friday-poll-should-bioware-change-mass-effect-3s-ending/

83%
Yes. The ending is unacceptable.
8%
Only if it's a brighter ending. The current options are too bleak.
4%
No. It's just fine as is.
3%
It's too late. I won't be able to accept a different ending now.
2%
Other. (Expand in the comments.)

What does this tell you?

This tells me very little. The EA being the worst company in the world is a great example of that. People who dislike the ending are far more likely to take the poll. Add to that the Retakers would likely LINK the poll in order to get people to sign it.

But that's just my opinion, I have no more to back that up than anyone else. You'd have to do a real sociological study in order to get more info than that.

Very true, most of the polls appear to be self-selecting surveys. However, after so many polls and surveys, if it was only a minority of players who opposed the endings, there would begin to arise major inconsistencies.
from what I personally have seen, the majority of voiced players dislike the endings and the proportions of people who support the endings hasn't breached the 5% mark

Oh, by the way: You have to add one to the critics of the ending, because I don't have an FB account (if they want my information, they should pay me for it).

Notice how the pro enders lack the critical thinking skills to understand why these statistics are invalid.

Now now no need for abuse, he does indeed have a valid point, check my earlier post about those who have no problem with the ending.

Right now the numbers d not matter. What matters is that the controversy reached beyond the core gaming world and is therefore generating threat potential for BW. Heck, devianart is even discussing about new ways of storytelling because of this.
Additionally sometimes having control of key areas, strategic points is more important than numbers. Right now in every social media platform the ending haters are in majority and therefore basically controlling the opinion about ME3 and Bioware. This must be addressed by BW.
Everyone not seeing this should read about the Battle of Thermoplyae and what a small group holding strategic points can do overall.

So, is OP a troll simply because people disagree? Or is he/she able to voice a different point of view? And, for those that post "This again?"...are they saying the same thing about the countless ending complaint threads here?

The vocal "minority," as you put it, is nearly 90% of Bioware's core fan base. The core fan base drives your product. They aren't necessarily the largest percentage of those that buy it, but they are the ones who spread the word and sing your praises to anyone who will listen. They are also the group most likely to speak up when they dislike something. Alienating them is the equivilant of committing business suicide. Of course I'm sure people like you will just take that as me pulling facts out of nowhere to make myself feel important, but such is life.

additionally, you have the ratios of those that speak to those that do not. It's been a while and I forget the exact term, but the ratio is something like 1 to 25, meaning that for every person that speaks up about a product, there are 25 people that feel the same way. Now if this ratio is correct, that means that the numbers are closer to 1.6 million, which is over 76% of the total sales of Mass Effect 3. Of course you also have to factor in that those amonst those angry at the ending that have joined the "re-take" movement are not the total number. Many people will not join a facebook group for many reasons. And others who hate the ending dislike the name of the movement. This means that the number of people who are angry at bioware right now are most likely far higher than the 66,000 you came up with.

I've talked to people just within the last month who hated the ending to such an extent that they promptly returned their copy of the game. None of them even knew the retake "movement" existed. Also, if you factor in the numbers of those belonging to Bioware social, which is going to be far smaller than the amount of people who bought the game as only the most hardcore fans join forums and only the most hardcore of those fans post regularly, then the numbers prove even more of a majority.

Even if my ratios are off, there is one fact that you cannot dispute: The majority of active posters on mass effect forums around the internet think the ending is horrible.

I think the majority of players didn't like the ending as well. I just don't know if those polls are indicative of exactly how many.

I would make the point that it deson't matter. Fans have been vocal enough that Bioware has taken notice. They will do what they do now with that feedback in mind. They probably imo won't change the ending completely either way, but I think the "clarification" wouldn't have happened if fans weren't so passionate.

When you grew up in a big city you see a lot of things you don't want to and sad to see things go unseen. I've seen 14yr olds selling their body for food. homeless kids who's parent's kicked them out. veterns coming home from war to nothing. no one cares because society has the mentally they deserved it.

This again? Why do we have to call each other vocal minority, whiners or entitled brats when we're all fans of the same game franchise?

He has proven nothing, nor stated a point of view. OP threw an image into the thread with no comment at all. THe image is supposed to prove that retakers are a vocal minority. The topic has been discussed to death. OP brings no hard proof for his claim whatsoever.

Therefore: troll.
