The problem is, you compared the wrong two numbers. Coparing the facebook "retake" members with sales reveals nothing.

"Imaginary numbers"?

THe ability of some people to be willfully ignorant never ceases to amaze me.

Again, gain some knowledge in statistics before you try to make a point with it, or you'll just fall flat on your face and be a hilariaus example of the human capacity for ignorance

Out of all the people that purchased ME3, 66,000 of them have actively joined the retake movement.

The wrong two numbers? In order to find out how many people out of all ME3 consumers are members of the retake movement they seem like the perfect two numbers.

And you are calling me ignorant?

Bad logic is bad, So to really rub your nose in it. At last check the Supports the Ending Group on Facebook was at just under 700, probably around that number still... So 700 people like the ending and you need to learn how things in the real world work

Only a fool would say the quiet ones enjoyed the endings. Every person at work and friends I've talked to about the endings have hated it but they didn't join retake. So good job for assuming but you fail.

So... you are assuming that out of the 97% who aren't part of the retake groups... more than 50% of those people actually hate the ending and keep it a secret?

Using your personal group of friends, who proably share your thoughts and rely on each other for input as the benchmark for the rest of the world is what is ASSUMING.

I am not using "what my friends think" as evidence to make this pie chart. I used real numbers.

And where do you take the 66.000? So in your opinion the RM3 group consists of nobody but the people on Facebook and Twitter? Is the Bioware fan community now only consisting of third-party members and not even members of their own board?

Your calculations are weird.

Well I can't possibly go find everyone, but as a metric of "measuring support" of the retake movement I figured the official Facebook group that everyone links too and twitter account were about as good as I could do. I don't think they are weird I am not hiding any numbers.

If you know of a secret underground where 100,000 more supporters are hiding then you know something I dont.

They're the wrong two numbers if you're trying to figure out wether or not the people against the ending are in the minority.

And yes, yes I am. Hence the reason I used the word not just once, but twice in the post you quoted.

Not because you don't seem to know how statistics work, that's perfectly understandable. No, I called you ignorant for refusing to realise your error, despite the number of people pointing it out to you

Your title is ME3 ending haters NOT in the majority  and your sole piece of data reflects the number of retakers.

The number of retakers does not equal the number of hater there for your arguement fails.

ME3 sales: 2,150,000 copies. Facebook members in group "We love Mass Effect 3": 3253 = Only 0,0015% of customers loves ME3!!

See, I can do it too!

I wish admins would shut the real troll threads, like this one, down instead of just the ones that say things they don't want to hear.

Lol how it a statistics fail? Are you people stupid? I simply took 2 numbers. Total sales and fans of "retake" and compated them.

3% of consumers are fans of "retake." The math is 100% transparent and sound.

*snip

Oh wow I almost missed this golden nugget.  Bolded for emphasis.
Your thread title is "ME3 ending haters NOT in the majority. Just very vocal."
According to your title, you're equating "ME3 ending haters" with "fans of retake".
So, in your 'statistics', you're not comparing ME3 ending haters with total sales... you're comparing fans of retake with total sales... which is not what your title said at all.

So yes, statistics fail. Also logic.  All dogs are mammals; not all mammals are dogs.

If your title was "FB RetakeME3 members + Twitter followers are NOT in the majority of total players"... you would be totally right... and totally obvious.

See, this kind of graph is only relevant if it displays those who specifically enjoyed the ending, AGAINST those who specifiacally did not. As it does not, I am quite happy as a scientific minded fellow to ignore it as the useless piece of information that it is.

Only 700 people liked the ending according to Facebook. So only 0.00035% of people liked the ending.

I guess 99.99965% disliked the ending.

BTW, I'm not even in Retake.

many of them don't care enough to join the retake movement. never the less, it dosen't mean that people liked the ending. i have been vocal about how bad the endings where, and how i would like to see a new ending, but i haven't joined any movements

You are right there isn't a way.

However the retake mass effect movement has a very specific goal "to get the ending changed" and I figured measureing it's memebers is pretty accurate of zealous detractors. Obviously I know many people are simply silent.

Only about 10% of people will make thier opinion on somehing known be it positive or negative.
