It doesn't make the endings better, but it took some of the sting out. Thank you for that.

True, but the OP had to work with-in the current endings (aka: Star-Brat) so with that in mind, it's brilliant!

I wouldn't be surprized if we see this in the actual game epilogues. They had taken 'lazy' actions, or more accurately cut corners when they expected to be paid. Since the DLC is free, i doubt top quality will be their priority.

Bumped for awesome.

Interesting to see that the Normandy's escape from the Sol system wasn't really explained; unless i missed that. Also doesn't go into how Shep survived the red ending.

Still, bloody good.

Remarkable work. You have set a bar for the extended ending to surpass. The choices for what happens to the characters are obviously up to Bioware, but it would be a big disappointment for them to not hit the level of craft, respect for some of the broadest in game choices, and overall attention to the variables of every player's world as you have. I'm jealous that I didn't come up with it :)

This. This is. I don't have words.

I think, I think I finally understand the appeal of fanfiction. I can happily accept these endings and move on.

This is great! fixed my ending (synthesis). I liked the writing of character personalities. I felt that my LI with Jack would've been handled by her pretty much the way it was when Allers asked for the interview. Good work!

I found this yesterday on another post, and gave it a shot.

All of what is writen in this site is now cannon to me.

I also told my friends (who, surprise! were all disappointed by the ending) and all have accepted this as the endingS Mass Effect 3 deserved.

Great way to really help us in a sea of senselessness. It helps me feel I got that happy ending after all. Thank you.

Knew one of these would pop up sooner or later. But of course, great job!

No tech is lost and the galaxy is recovered in a matter of weeks in your Synthesis scenario? I didn't get that, neither from your slides nor from the game. How would long-range star travel work? Have I missed something?

In the synthesis slide where it shows a picture of the Normandy, it says "After a brief but unavoidable period of confusion, the newly united organic and synthetic forces devoted their combined resources toward the restoration of the mass effect relays. The survivors of the Normandy were located and recovered some weeks later."

In the other slides, it usually takes years. In the red slides, the mass effect relays are gone for good, but are eventually replaced with something else that allows travel between star systems.

But in the synthesis ending, you have Reapers working directly with organics (or, I should say, "organic-origin species"). I don't see how there could be any technical challenge that you can't swiftly overcome.

A little too much exposition there. It feels like the exact opposite of the current endings, which were withholding too much.

This has restored some of my faith in humanity. Seriously, Bioware, just give the person who wrote this $10,000 and code in directly into the game as is. Oh, and hire said person, since they apparently can write a much satisfying ending than the current writers. Not putting them down, the other 95% of the game was great, but this ending is just immeasurably better than the one we were given.

For the record -- though I don't think the BioWare team is lacking in their own ideas or their own means of expression -- if they get any inspiration from my slides, I would be flattered.

If they actually wanted to use my writing directly (this is not going to happen, guys) I would gladly give them the rights for free, but I would want to be included somewhere in the credits to the DLC. I'm only saying this because it seems to come up a lot in the comments, not because it's in any way realistic.

I also think it's hilarious how highly-paid some of you seem to think that game writers are. Dudes, this is not the kind of profession that anybody enters with an expectation of getting rich. None of the BioWare writers are shopping for yachts. Nobody is going to offer me ten thousand dollars for two weeks of work.

But thank you, dcal31, very much, for the kind words. And everybody else who's left such great, amazing feedback. It's really great that the slides have gotten such a warm reception. I :wub:you all.

All right. I actually read that but forgot it was part of the Synthesis scenario. I'm still considering if I'm fine with direct Reaper actions. It is not implausible, but it feels a little like divine intervention.

Anyway, point taken and I still love your vision.

This is great.
This is how simply Eaware could have made a bad ending better.

This + space hitler dead = perfect ending.

Now that I've had a chance to really play around with the options, I have a question. How does the collector base choice, background and Anderson effect the outcomes? All the ones I've tried have be high EMS playthroughs, so maybe it effects low EMS outcomes? Or is for content that isn't finished yet? Just curious.

Also, thanks Siduri for responding. In my excitement of actually seeing a satisfying ending, I may have been a bit excessive in my reaction. That doesn't make your work any less well done. I've read published books, by reasonably well know authors (*coughDeceptioncough*), that don't have as good of writing as you do. As some have pointed out before, I think the best decision was to the epilogue told through books, broadcasts, etc. It has the feel of someone in the not-to-distant future looking back and seeing how Shepard shaped the galaxy into the current form, while still leaving that exact future mostly to the imagination.
