Nitpicky time: I believe it should say that it became a 'plane of slaughter' and not a 'plain of slaughter.'
Brilliant, though.
That phrase actually goes back to medieval times, and the reference is to a "plain" in the sense of a field.
And thank you!

Oh, look. You're right. I was wrong. I shall defy the traditional BSN response to being proven wrong and do something completely unheard of:
You are right, I was wrong. I apologize.
No worries! I really appreciate feedback and corrections.

And now I'm not waiting for the summer DLC anymore. I mean, yeah, probably I'll check it out when it's released, just out of curiosity, but... it's not that hard to believe that you were able to touch that world somehow, to finally get some answers. It's really good. No, it's great. It doesn't have to be the work of some BW employee to be a "canon". Maybe it shouldn't be - they have already screwed that up. But now it's fixed and for that I wholeheartedly thank you.
Was it really that hard, BW?

I'm normally not too keen on fanfic, but that was awesome. Thank you! I particularly enjoyed reading the 'Last Defender' speech and the Tali LI speech (bearing in mind I chose the red ending). Nice work!
I agree, ive never really read a whole fanfic, the concept is anoying, but these are very well done. doesnt take care of the plotholes, but at least provides closure based on some of our choices...... just like BW should have done... except they didnt think "there would be a demand for it".

And yet, here we have something that doesn't change the endings at all, just adds to them, but people are raving about how great they are. And it's nothing but text, too, which BioWare assures us is not going to be what THEIR ending revisions are.
So not only do I love these takes on an extended ending, they give me hope that BioWare could come up with something just as good to make the official ending work better. But even if they fail, at least I have this to fall back on.

This goes to show how devoted the fan-base is, and how Bioware chose to squander that fan-base by "stealing our shoes" (for those that have seen that video, you know exactly what I'm talking about) and blaming us for it.

Finally got this to work. Had javascript enabled but it wasnt working. In the process of getting it to work - borked my Windows XP, fried a motherboard, killed a power supply, and went a full week while getting it all fixed without a computer. Moral - certainly better than what we got from BioWare.
Yikes! Sorry about that!
Dont worry about it - now got a better motherboard/cpu installed, more RAM and a new Windows OS system. And as I said even with all the problems still got a better ending from your slides than what we got from EA BioWare.

I think he meant "slide". She doesn't give a speech.

Very good, but do some slides get skipped? There's like a brief flash of another slide in between changing them then it goes to a new one. How many slides should there be? 8?
It varies depending on your choices, but 8 is about right.

Following her release from medical care, Tali'Zorah retired from the quarian admiralty and entered into civilian life on Rannoch. Shortly thereafter, Tali'Zorah and Commander Shepard were married in a private ceremony at the home they built together. News of the event sparked a media sensation, feeding a war-torn population's need for catharsis and hope: "Shepard & Tali" memorial plates continue to fetch a high price on auction markets today."
Perfect.

You know, I've already commented on these slides before, but I just wanted to mention something else that I love about this. All these people talking about how great this is, how it makes the ending so much better... in a forum filled with people saying, "I'm not even downloading the free ending DLC, or if I do, I know there's no way it's going to make the game any better, because the ending is completely unfixable unless they completely change it, not just add to it."
And yet, here we have something that doesn't change the endings at all, just adds to them, but people are raving about how great they are. And it's nothing but text, too, which BioWare assures us is not going to be what THEIR ending revisions are.

Isn't it amazing how positive people can get.....if there's something to be positive about? I've just gone through another variant I hadn't tried before, and was as touched as the first time. Add some slides about the different worlds in scenarios where we can know about them (Control or Synthesis) and this would be perfect. Though I wish there was a variant where Javik survived. He deserves to see the after-the-Reapers galaxy more than anyone else.
As opposed to some others, i *am* looking forward to the Extended Cut, but that's mostly because (a) I expect it to be more comprehensive in the decisions and places covered, and (
I'd wish for this thread to be awarded a sticky for the singular achievement of having restored enjoyment of the Mass Effect games for many players.
