I chose destruction for three reasons, I did start thinking "hmm could it be indoctrination?", because it's what Anderson would've done, and I thought being like Saren and TIM couldn't of lead to the perfect ending.

It was the only choice that made sense. Our options are: embrace what Saren wanted, embrace what TIM wanted, or kill the Reapers.

Now, which one should I pick?

EDI and the geth are a high price, but as Shep and Garrus mention, sometimes decisions in war just come down to cold, ruthless calculus. And if it means sacrificing them to save *every other race in the galaxy*, I can live with that. Also because Synthesis is morally reprehensible and Control is possibly the single most foolish thing imaginable, AS SHEP TELLS TIM PERSONALLY NOT FIVE MINUTES PRIOR. The whole ending is still a clusterf***, but Destroy is the least horrible.

When that stupid kid stopped talking, I sat there in disbelief for about half an hour that the game had been reduced to picking a 'door,' but I pressed on. Control seemed like too much of a gamble, Synthesis made no god damn sense. So I just chose Destroy because that's what I'd originally set out to do...

...plus red is my favourite colour.

I initially picked the green ending, because at that point my brain was going WTF HerpyDerp and I didn't really care, besides it reminded me of the choice at the end of Asimov's Foundation Saga, with the choice of Universal Gaia being the winner. Also if I was gonna die I wanted Joker and Edi to have a chance of happiness.

Then I saw the ending and it didn't really matter, so I reloaded and chose destroy, just because I could. Then I saw the ending again and died a little inside.

Destroy ending.

It just felt right. Destroying the reapers has been the goal of this entire series.

Well...this is rather embarrassing but, I actually chose destruction by mistake. I was so dumbfounded by spacebrat's rambling bullsh*t, by the time I'd recovered some semblance of motor functions I literally didn't remember what my options were. 'Red' seemed to fit my mood so I chose that. As everyhting went to hell, I remember thinking, 'Bloody hell, I guess I picked the wrong option.' I was so naive...

It's very simple. Reapers need to be stopped. Why give them a chance to fool you? Destroy them!

Like what if Frodo wouldn't have destroyed the ring? He'd just gotten corrupted and everyone would have died (LOLZOR EVER1 DIED ALREDY LOL! yeah yeah pipe it down). Don't give the Reapers a chance...

I chose Control...and then my new Reaper friends were flying right into the next star => Reaper destroyed, geth and EDI alive. This decision was easy.

I thought Destroy means Shepard does not have to die (didn't listen to Catalyst carefully), so I picked it.

Control has to be the most hypocritical choice ever. The entire game everyone says how we need to kill them, to quote hackett "He's wrong, dead reapers win this"

The only one where the Reapers were for sure dead. And they must be stopped. Plus Control & Synthesis reminded me of what the Antagonists of the series wanted (TIM=Control, Saren= Synthesis)

Its what Shepard wanted, its what I wanted. And then I woke up.

I didn't believe a word the catalyst said. Also, both control and synthesis seemed way too risky. Even the Catalyst admits that you can't be sure you can control the Reapers. And we all know what Reapers do with other synthetics; they control them.

I gladly sacrificed the geth and EDI if it meant destroying the Reapers.

why did you originally choose the destruction ending rather than the control or synthesis ending? Did you do it b/c you thought Shepard was potentially being indoctrinated? You just hate the Reapers? or something else.

Basically, I just want to know what was going through your mind and why you chose destruction.

I made this choice for my first Shepard because accepted that Blue and Green choices are almost what Reapers offered  and tried to do. Characters my Shep met wanted to control Reapers (or ally with them for merging organic life with synthetic Reapers to build more Reapers - that was an added option for the second Shep). I thought that Red choice is what my first Shep wants.

But at the second playthrough with another Shep I noticed many strange things what didn't mention at the first playthrough. These things moved me to think that Shep is slowly going crazy (being under indoctrinating preasure) or the whole game was left without sence. I didn't like the last option so continued to evolve my thoughts about Shep indoctrination process and looked at things from this point. So when this Shep met his choices I was absolutely agreed that the Red choice is the only hope for my character to keep his mind clear for a little more time.
I was very glad to see the confirmation that my thoughts of indoctrination attempts were not so wrong - the breathing scene shows me this.

And two days after that I read about Indoctrination theory. As for me, I think it is very rare when reasoning of two or more different people about some different thing are matching at every pint. I believe it is a sign that the Indoc supposition is correct :)

Out of my choices;
1 = Control felt like TIM's path for Cerberus and not mine. Shep didn't want the Reapers just controlled for a little while until she became part of the next cycle to destroy organics.

2 = Synthesis was nothing more than playing God for an entire galaxy, making the decision of what would be best for them even when it wouldn't and how it wouild destroy the entire point of people making their own decisions, not me doing it for them.

3 = Destroy was left as the only option, even with the destruction of the Geth & EDI, the Reapers would be stopped once and for all. Wipingg out the Geth was genocide, but ultimately the *lesser* evil of the other two since it would save the billions of other people across the galaxy.

But alll of that is moot with the destruction of every system with a primary relay in it. No-one 'wins' except for the nextt cycle.

I picked destroy because:
For the control I kept thinking that all I was really doing was becoming the new catalyst. I did not ever want to become the the new catalyst. Eventually I might would have to trick someone else to take my place and the cycle would continue with the reapers still reaping.
For the synthesis it just did not make any sense to me. Why is MY DNA so important that it would magically make things change? Is that why the collectors wanted to liquify me in Mass Effect 2? Wouldn't anyone's DNA change this? Or is it because I reached this room that MY DNA is " the one" that is the changer? To many things are left unanswered for me to pick this option.
So, the destroy option is the right way for me to go. This ends here and now! We can always make new EDI's and Geth if we want to and maybe make new reapers in the future.

I choose it as a way of giving the freaking star child the finger!
