The only bad thing about the Mages' Tower Fade is its repetitivenes over repeated playthrough.
Otherwise, it was great, especially the first time.
Anyone else LOVE the Fade section of the Circle Tower?

I enjoyed it my first couple of playthroughs (on my 4th now). It got rather tedious after a while, so I'm using the "Skip the Fade" mod now.

I even enjoy it on repeat playthroughs. I think it's a lot of fun. The first time, I went through it way too fast and missed a lot. I was worried about my buddies and wanted to get to them fast.
The only downside, which isn't really a downside, but more of a testement to the excellent level of involvement with the companions, is how lonely the fade feels without them.
Awakening felt a little like that the whole time, by comparison.

I hated the fade section in Origins and its like punishment replaying it, but in Awakening i find it quite fun, and also it plays a part in getting some nice armour so it has its rewards too

It's fun and easy. How is it a punishment? It takes 45 minutes top to rip through it on repeat playthroughs.

For the first few characters I played it was a fun quest then the boredom set in , on my 11th character now and use the "skip the fade" mod as many now seem to.

There are things I like about the Fade section. It's an interesting change of pace. I love the stat bonuses and the form-shifting. I agree that the form-shifting is more the way I think shape-shifting should be. I liked the surreal look of the place, although I can see how the wavy visual effect might be physically distressing to some people. If I don't concentrate on my character, I can get just a tad motion-sick myself. Thanks to this thread, I've learned how to pick up a couple more stat points. I never thought to shift forms to pick up some of those bonuses.
However, I didn't care much for all the back and forthing, especially on my first couple of play-throughs. I think it took me two hours (maybe more) to get through it the first time. I'm down to an hour, but that's because I don't have all the little ways to access various areas memorized. While it's not my favorite part of the game and I don't really look forward to it, my new challenge to myself is to see how fast I can get through it.

I do find the fade section in origins intiguing, while i can understand some peoples annoyance at it, but you have to look at it from a context, it's ment to be a mind trip, and throw you off guard somewhat, which you have to admire, plus it's a break from the norm, with regrades to most rpg's.

my first playthourgh i wasn't sure if i should even be there. everyone seems to have there own oppinion on everything, cause in my oppinion Orzammar is the best where as other people don't like it because it's too long or whatever other reasons are. Plus going through the deep roads is one of the best ways to level up in the game. I don't like the fade because it's right in the middle of your mission and you're thrown away from it. the only reason i suffer through it is to get the stat points, but other then that the back and forth is very annoying. like many other people i try to get that over with closest to the begining.

All hail the "Skip the Fade" mod: www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php
As many have said, it's good for a while, but gets old faster than the rest of the game.

I liked it, thought it was fun being able to shape shift and it was different and I enjoyed it. But after a few times through, it does feel a bit tedious and boring and I feel like I wish I could skip it.
