Ray said the same thing fifteen days ago. How is this any different?

They are clarifying it, not fixing it.

Sounds like the "clarification" they were talking about. If it's just extra cutscenes and dialogue, that's certainly not what I was looking for. Oh well. Flipping out about it won't help - if they haven't gotten the point by now, they never will. BioWare/EA will be losing my business if it ends up being what it sounds like.

I like that "Even More"  phrase.  The problem its that there isn't any in the current version.  It's like saying you are going to give EVEN MORE than zero.  Good luck to you Bio, trying to salvage that ending is going to be a monumental task.  God speed, friends.

I am completely cynical when it come to EA/Bioware, i know. But i can't help but think that because it is free, it is completely brief and lacking in depth.

But i have just grown incredible amounts of cynicism when it comes to this company. So there's that.

It won't fix everything, obviously. You'll need fanfic for that.

But I'll take it as a sign that they do actually care.

So you can all stop whining and trolling the forums with Bioware hate now?

No.  Expanding on the starkid nonsense, the "synthetics always turn on their creators" crap, the "my synthetics need to kill you cuz they do it nicer and better than your own synthetics would" crap, the "Shepard must die no matter what" crap, the Normandy running away as coward crap, the "Shepard's LI is running away to shag random members of the Normandy crew on Club Paradise planet" crap, etc, CANNOT BE FIXED BY EXPANDING ON IT.

EXPANDING on sh*t just gives you a BIGGER pile of sh*t.

Sh*t = Sh*t.

I think I've hit the acceptance stage. Bioware is no longer a must-buy, and the bar for convincing me to buy is higher. I went and deleted ME3 and Origin yesterday, along with the first two games. (I'm keeping JE though, that one is still fun.)
When or if it comes to the "I'll see" part, I'll see it on youtube and decide from there.

Epilogue scenes = "Tali went back to rannoch and built a house" etc etc.

The ending remains the same. It's just a small effort to shut the whiners up.

How will extra cinematic scenes and added epilog scenes (that f’ing should have been in there to begin with) fix the craptacular push button a, b or c with the same basic result endings we got in the game?

About the only thing that makes me even slightly consider getting this thing is that its free. Even still, I seriously doubt I’ll waste my X-box 360’s memory for this thing or any ME3 download for that matter.

Here is an idea EA/BioWare. Redo the damn final mission and do it right this time. Give us an ending that rivals the ones in ME1 and ME2. Not some half baked Ed Wood homage. Or better yet, release the real Mass Effect 3 game we were told we were going to get.

I guess that takes the wind out of the sails of the Indoctrination Theory.

God-child and colors are still in the game:

"Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes."

It's not a fix, it's a clarification:

"With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe."

Nothing new here.

Exactly... star child and the other plot holes are still there. This is no better than the current ending.<_<

I guess that takes the wind out of the sails of the Indoctrination Theory.

It also shows that BioWare has officially lost their ability to write good stories....

The fact that it's free makes me question the content in the DLC.

For me this is the expected result, not the favorable one. But oh well... I cant think of one Sci-fi story I love, be it game or film, that doesn't have parts I hate.

It does however make me wonder, if this is announced before PAX.. what is the big announcement for ME that was supposed to be revealed at PAX?

This isn't a fix. They are simply trying to slap paint on the rusted out hulk of a game they wrecked. The ending CANNOT be fixed by expanding on it! It CANNOT. No matter what makeup you plaster on that f*cker you cannot make the illogical become logical, the irrational become rational, the retarded become not retarded. Only with religion can more handwaving over gaping ridiculous HOLES in the plot of the belief system in any way be called a "fix" or "improvement".

1+1 = 2 no matter how badly you want it to equal 3. It doesn't.

This +1

Also...'this summer' ?  lolz...way to go Bioware...

I hate waiting, but depending on the details, this could well be what I was looking for.

Now if they get this right, all they have to do is patch in the neutral options and this will be my favorite Mass Effect title. :P

I am eager to see what they do, it is free after all.

As an aside, I think a total redone ending was probably just wishful thinking as it is.

well, way to deal a SMALL portion of the issues, i hope that the future plans (i hope you have some) will be worth it EA/BW.
Anyway halo 4 is soon and all of that awesomeness that(i hope) comes with it, so screw ME it is no longer worth it.
