I'll probably end up doing what i've been doing on all my subsequent playthroughs, which is turn the game off at the beginning of the Citadel beam push and retreat to a head cannon for the ending :)

I'm surprised they released this information early personally, isn't PAX like, tomorrow?

So they adding some cut scenes and noting more?
I still have to see for myself to decide what I think about it BUT from the looks of it it stinks and it stinks bad.
And If they really think they can get with another work ala Tali's face bull.... then they can bet that I will take my money else where.

Not confirmed.

If that were true, they would release it NOW and not need months of dev time. I'm expecting a Legacy-sized DLC at this point. And they can pull that off.

They will obviously use the IT

How exactly? IT demands a whole new series of events leading to the real ending.
You really believe Bioware are gonna use cutscenes only to tell us about them, taking away choice from us just like IT does?
Yea, sure.

Actually all they need to do is add some after the ending, not before. The stage is already set for the IT.

You didn't get me.

IT demands a whole new series of events leading to the real ending that  must start after current ending.
I don't believe cutscenes can be enought for it. Besides,  they said clarify, not continue.
IT just doesn't cut in anymore.

In all seriousness, Bioware knows this isn't what we want. There's no way they couldn't know. They're just desperately trying to make the problem go away.

This perfectly sums up what is going on right now.

There cannot be a ME4 in the future. No relays. Also, no antagonist. ALL games require a real antagonist. The ONLY games that dont have them are realtime strategy games and crappy MMOs. ALL games have a big antagonist in one form or another. The Reapers were THE antagonist of the ME universe. They leave them gone in ME3 one way or another. They tossed out dark energy so there is NOTHING to step into the Reaper position.

New Relays can always be built. The Conduit proves that organics are capable of building Mass Relays, the quantum entanglers still communicate in all major population centers and the finest minds of the galaxy are OK in the Crucible project.

And you really lack imagination if you think that no new antagonists can be invented for the Mass Effect universe. There's no need for a sequel to try to one-up the previous game with bigger bad guys. The focus can be shifted totally to a more morally ambigious war between two factions, or even a personal story of one guy who is not out to save the galaxy, but just themselves and their loved ones from a villain of smaller scale. I've speculated for awhile of a game set entirely on the Citadel or Omega giving a more grassroot perspective of the Mass Effect universe.

Ugh...you don't understand how quantum entanglement actually works.  It is NOT (and cannot be) like some regular radio but with fancy quantum tech stuck on it.  To ENTANGLE something means that it has to be in direct communication/contact with that which you want to entangle it.  You have to first entangle atoms/molecules, then separate them and THEN use them for communication...and while doing this you CONSUME them.  They cannot be used again.  Once you use entangled atoms/molecules for measuring or communicating, they are done.  Their entanglement ceases.

There cannot be ongoing quantum entanglement communication across the galaxy unless there is a way to transport half of the entangled atoms/molecules to the recipient.  NO RELAYS.

Forget quantum entanglement communication.  It isn't what you think it is and cannot do what you think it can.

And you clearly don't understand how QEC actually works - it's based on two particular particles that occupy dual states

I DO know how real life quantum entanglement works and how it COULD be used (not is, but COULD be used) for comm.  It does require that the entangled atoms/molecules first be entangled.  They have to be associated.  You cannot simply entangle an atom of xenon over there with your atom of xenon over here.  Can't be done.  Quantum entanglement requires intimate association first.  THEN all the magic of entanglement can be discerned.  Once.

The emphasis isn't on entanglement, but on quantum state and the concept of duality and to some degree discussion regarding 'Schrödinger's cat', whilst your assumption about associative entanglement is correct, you assume that the switching of states consumes the particles involved - it is at this point that the Mass Effect definition of QEC differs from your interpretation - switching of an entangled quantum state does not consume the atom or it's associated quantum partner or otherwise release the energy, neither does 'reading' the state

Way for all you people that are whining to show your true colours

For the last month many have tried to clarified that the ending "didn't make sense and was full of plot holes"

Now that this clarification ending has been announced you're still complaining even though its set to address the "plot holes"

YOU GUYS ARE CLEARLY COMPLAINING BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T LIKE THE ENDING AND WANTED IT TO BE MORE OF A CALL OF DUTY PARADE PUPPIES AND RAINBOWS ENDING.

Nope. This is why we hated the ending. And that's also why this is not what we asked them to do. But nice of you to prove once again that Bi*drones will jump to any ludicrous answer to explain why someone doesn't like what they sheeple around.

OH FFS 39 MINUTES??? TOO BLOODY LONG, give me the TLDW version instead, from the snipits I saw all I saw was nitpicking WHICH IS WHAT THIS DLC IS ADDRESSING

Hm, weird. I have to actually see the changes to make a final decision but it doesn't sound like they are adressing the plot holes at all. If so, great job missing the elephant in the room, guys. But we will see once the cut hits, at least they get some credit for making it free.

Edit: though they still could use IT though. All they would need would be a few cinematics with Shep shaking off the Indoctrination and activating the Crucible. We wouldn't get a boss fight but hey, that would be a good trade.

the endings should reflect the efforts we put in for our game, and reward those efforts. ME2 nailed this point perfectly, if you put efforts in upgrading your ship and gaining royalty, you are rewarded with everyone survived and continuation of romance. This gives the players a sense of achievement, and this is what ME3 endings lack.

so yes, the current ending needs a lot of clarifications (see Walters/Hudson? this is what happen when you remove investigative dialogue choices in the most important conversation in the whole series) and closures, but more importantly, you need to reward the players for their efforts!!!

we as fans have supported Bioware for a long time, we deserve not only clarification(s), but also a better ending.

"Nitpicky complaints are justified in a nitpicky genre."

Bioware set up the rules, set up the technology, and broke almost every single facet of that universe (and, consequently, the player-developer trust) in the endings.

If you bothered to watch the video, you would see why it failed on almost every level (narratively, logicially, technologically, etc).

I'll be healthily conspicuous until I see it for myself... If they're still going with the same story but an actualy explanation, it's not really any improvement.

Although I must laud the balls it took for bioware to undertake such a feat. kudos.

You know what, the Nemesis snipers keep saying "Ten Minutes", which is about as long as the final ten minutes of the Mass Effect 3 ending are, maybe TIM knew about the endings all along?

Oh, goodie. So you intentionally decide to choose ignorance and just insult us without even bothering to research exactly what it is people are displeased about, and then expect people to listen to you while you whine at us to 'stooop beeiiiin meeeeaaaaan' to 'poor Bioware'. How 'bout you just sit your poor ADHD-riddled self down and watch it? I'm sure that all the big words must be hard for you to follow, but take heart, it's really not that complicated.

From the way it reads there are no changes what so ever... it'd just 'clarification' which ( to me) means they'll be showing the geth and all synthetic life being destroyed along with the reapers ( if destroy is chosen), and the actions that lead up to the normandy space magic and gilligan's planet. I also have a strong feeling they'll be ruling out the indoctrination theory, but i do hope i'm wrong on all of this... i seriously just don't trust the company anymore starting with Hudson's proclamation of Deception being a great book and cannon.

Right.  "Clarification through cutscenes" reads to me like "Closing Plot Holes".

For example: Destroying the mass relay destroyed the system anyway... so they add a scene where the relay explodes and only takes Pluto with it or something.

You must have some precongnative senses then. Since everything I have read from When Dr. Masuka came out said they were going to clarify the issues at the ending. Clarifying would mean clearing plotholes. I would stop and think for a minute about this instead of rushing in with emotions and assuming you know everything just from them saying we are clarifying the ending.

This.

Summer is a long way away for some people.  Time to move on, for wounds to heal; anger to fade.

I hope they underestimate us.  This feels like cover fire as they run to the bunker.

PAX is now a gajillion times more interesting.
