Also, this:

"We keep confusing "They have to" with "they should"; they are a business. Their success and continued existence relies on pleasing their customers. Pleasing the fans isn't a compromise they have to be dragged, kicking and screaming into making, it is the reason they exist."

EA = ME franchise dead, since they put hands in Bioware, the game change from one very nice "RPG-action" game, to one game very similar to "Gears of Wars" with some touchs of character customized.

Now they sell this crappy ending surely with some comercial plan for the future based in these, the problem with that is one more time EA destroy something for win a few more bucks, like always i hate the comercial politics of this company, they dont respect to gammers and not understand that one game cant be sold to all, exist diferent audience, diferent ages and they need learn to respect and understand that!!!

PS: Sorry for the bad english, isnt my native lenguage

THIS should've been the ending. THIS. Shame on you, BioWare. I have always stopped my friends, my colleagues, even PROFESSORS, at my university from pirating your games, I have ALWAYS pushed them to buy your games instead, but now they're going to pirate everything. Many of them I just talked to uninstalled Mass Effect 3, uninstalled Origin, they've pirated Mass Effect 3, and now they're going to do torrents. Because you didn't solve a problem, you just added to it instead.

My game design professor thinks your game is crap.

Yes, my GAME DESIGN PROFESSOR.

This is it. I'm out. If they aren't changing the endings I am officially done with Bioware. Time to find a new favorite game. I will never buy any of their bull**** again. God what did EA do to this awesome company?

Further clarification to the nature of the DLC on the Bioware blog

http://blog.bioware....3-extended-cut/

Little depressing, but I'm still willing to see it through.

Yet one more slap in the face.  That's an upseting read for me.

Indeed. They're basically saying the ending was perfect and we are all just too stupid to understand it. So they now have to further explain it to us with addition cutscenes.

It is the opinion of the majority that the ending is unsatisfying and they want a new ending. However I can understand that Bioware can't lissen to such requests.

However the ending has been thoroughly analyzed and found illogical, which is fact. Another fact is that it didn't deliver what they promised it would.

The ending isn't smart at all, it is on the level of Sucker Punch and The Matrix Revolution. It is the whole 'lets act cool, make things confusing and hopefully people will think we're smarter then they are. If we're lucky some of them will pretend they get it too, and the rest will keep quiet because of it'. It is insulting.

I have to agree, when I read about the DLC coming out I was very excited, upon reading what BioWare posted in the blog (link above) it is just a huge smackdown! Yet another disappointment.

You're right, what that article says is "the ending was perfect, but just in case here is some more footage of bigfoot" NO!,
WE ,...yes WE the fans did all the work for you with the Indoc. Theory, it was a PERFECT out for you, and rather then accept it and make yourselves look smart by making into a DLC you decide to rain your gifts upon us...WAIT that's not rain!

All i know is if they are to add "clarity and closure" to the current endings, they sure have their work cut out for them.

That says a lot actually.

In regards to this whole thing I am still asking myself the question:

Yeah.... sure Bioware. I no longer trust what is said at all after the outright lies that were told about ME3.

I'll wait and see on this so-called "extended cut," and if Bioware thinks they can squeeze some money out of me with dlc in the meantime, they can forget that.

This is simply an attempt to reduce the anger as they attend PAX tomorrow. Think of the timing of this release alone. They're hoping that their big multiplayer DLC anouncement will now be picked up by the masses after "handling" the ending issue.

As for the release date of this summer? Honestly. How long does it take to string together a few more still shots and text?

unfortunately you guys, I think this, the Mass Effect 3 endings and the "ending part2 DLC" will serve as future reminders to the gaming community, not to alienate your key fan base. Because if they release some garbage that only adds insult to injury I think BioWare won't be seeing anymore profits for some time. It's a shame too, to end a story, a journey on such a sour note

Here is a mini FAQ to help you understand what the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is and isn’t:
What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?
For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to the conclusion of Commander Shepard’s journey.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.

When will the Extended Cut DLC be available?
Currently the Extended Cut DLC is planned for this summer, no specific date has been announced at this point.

Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?
Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story.
So there you have it. Are we proud of the game we made and the team that made it? Hell yes. Are we going to change the ending of the game? No. Do we appreciate the passion and listen to the feedback delivered to us by our fans? Very much so and we are responding. Summer is coming…

....

There really isn't much I can say.

I'm going back to ME1, doing my favorite paragon who gives into renegade impulses at various moments one last time, for the memories, taking it all the way through to ME3, sit and take my color of choice like a woman...

And then it's goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

I can respect Bioware for refusing to change the games ending on artistic grounds.
Hopefully they can respect me in turn when i dont buy any DLC for ME3 or buy any future product from them that is part of the Mass Effect Franchise.
I may take a look at the Extended Cut DLC if its free but from this point on i am done with the Mass Effect franchise.
My isssue has always been that Casey Hudson,Mac Walters and Mike Gamble outright lied to sell this game, and for that reason i am done with ANY Bioware product that these three individuals are involved with from this point on.

In honesty im not done with Bioware, i enjoy SWTOR and i have high hopes for the next Dragon Age game. But dont expect me to be pre ordering from this point on.

Said my piece and this is the last post i shall be making in regard to Mass Effect or in the Mass Effect forums.

If anyone wants me im on the TOR boards or in the DA forums from now on Image IPB

This exactly mirrors my feelings and I also will probably not preorder Bioware games anymore.
But then again, Bioware won't mind - as we are constantly being told, they deserve better fans....:(

There's a reasonable explanation for Bioware doubling down on the ending, and it has nothing to do with artistic integrity. Let's say hypothetically that a VERY expensive Mass Effect sequel is in the works. Now let's say this sequel requires that none or nearly none of the mass relays work at the beginning in order to gate content. Let's also say that this sequel requires all the ME races in close proximity to each other in order to justify players of different races starting in the same area. Can you smell what The Rock is cookin?

Nothing can be changed because EA's next cash cow depends on it.

Now that makes sense.  +1 interwebz for pointing out something I didn't even think about till now.

Extremely Loyal Mass Effect fan here... just to start out with... and also willing to allow for small "mis-steps" in storylines (the game works fine and the cinematics were beyond all expectations).
As I teach my students---
we should always sum up things into small chunks of comments (three each for brevity sake).
--- "Need to improves"
--- "Sustain this effort"
Need to improve#1- Bring back electronic door and safe hacking.
You sped up gameplay, but I honestly liked that part and was hoping you'd make it harder actually.
Expand this into other areas, such as computer hacking using EDI for example.#2- Offer 'third options' that high Paragon and Renegade scores create.
Shepard is Humanity's KEY to making other viable options... this was the KEY to both previous games.
Concentrate upon creating a reason for the higher scores like you did in ME2.#3- Final ending was really terrible...
Current Final ending the "least favorite option" for players who "barely make it" with War Assets at 50%.
Different ending for allowing the Geth to evolve thus proving organics and non-organics can co-exist.
Sustain this effort#1- Game play was smooth even on my 4 year old laptop.
I was able to do everything seemlessly the game itself actually plays better and looks better than ME1 or ME2.
Cinematics were truly awesome right to the very end.#2- Character classes and weapons remained the same.
Both were incorporated extremely well into the ME universe and I appreciate that.
I have to admit, losing the ability to keep 'superweapons' was a downer...#3- You took out the 'Planetary Resource Exploration'
It was fun for a few hours in ME2 but ultimately just prolonged gameplay beyond reasonable expectations.
Perhaps expand upon the current 'Scanner -vs- Reaper' interaction.

Overall- I truly liked this game and what it represents and hope that Bioware can stand behind its original premise that it is "gamers making games for gamers" and thus a company that listens to its fans overall.

The true concensus is that this game ROCKS....
...but the current ending SUCKS...

BIOWARE- Do the honorable thing and rewrite the Final ending at least...
Allow for some changes or options beyond a blue or a red pill...
Factor in the fanbase, and most of us really not agreeing with your gameplay storyboards...
Give us the option of actually USING our Paragon or Renegade points for something other than a few lines of code to keep our squadmates from arguing over sugar or pyjak juice in their coffee...

Absolutely fantastic news!Just what I wanted! When I started this series in 2007 and they were marketing how every choice will impact the conclusion of the series I thought to myself "Oh, well I'm knda hopeing i'll make all these choices and then they'll end up amounting to absolutely nothing :/"

Oh wait!! No, no I wasn't!
