Yes judging by this game dragon age 3 sales will be in the hundreds of thousands and not millions.

Not to mention all the DLC for ME3 that a lot of people wont buy... I mean really why bother?  NONE of it effected or will effect the game emding!

World War I started ENTIRELY because, as you say, adults weren't acting like adults.  What do you say to THAT?

Personally, it doesn't matter to me if it's free or not. Bioware's ruined this series for me, and they've ruined future products of theirs as well. I don't want to spend any more money or time on them, and have no intention of buying, pirating, or otherwise obtaining anything from them in the future after all this.

Actually Mythbusters proved you can polish a turd........but to get back on topic, did anyone ever for a moment think they would actually change the endings? Really....they stated they would not, just add clarification. Which IMO, means that they are just trying to shut the unhappy fans up. Very sad actually, since I have have played bioware games since Minsc and his beloved space hamster.

Just another notch for EA's belt, another great company down the crapper. Oh well there are other games to play. You had a good run  Bioware thanks for all the great games :crying:.....Off to play Arkham City.....

well going to wait to see what the extra stuff added to the ending... wait sorry endings is, I forget the different colours that prove there's 3 endings not just one with minor differences. Maybe this extra will win me over or at least make the currently baffling ending make some shadow of sense, I doubt it but hey I'm at least going to give it a go.

But as it stands currently I'm not touching DA3 and will likely been avoiding other BW products in the future, the pre launch hype from BW promised us that our choices would matter, promised that the ending wouldn't be the same for everyone but would be based on our choices in ealier games, and that it would be a simple case of picking ending a,b and c.......
this was definitively a lie...
apparently they wont change there "artistic vision" for the fans...
but they will change it to meet a dead line or cut costs or just cos they decided they couldn't be bothered to actually finish the game off in a remotely satisfying way or whatever the damn reason was for them delivering the cut down nonsense the game ultimately shipped with

and to the people that say we don't have a right to complain... yes actually we do just like you have every right to like the game... and if BW stick to there "artistic vision" reasoning and ignore the fans well that's there right as well just don't be surprised if people vote with there cash and take there business to other games developers that wont deliver these kinda of disappointments

(Posted Elsewhere. I don't feel I needed to make something new. Guess I have that in Common with EA/BioWare)

I'm somewhat disgusted, and more then a little outraged. This "Extended Cut" sounds like something they slapped together out of DLC they already had planned. From what little they revealed it seems as if it's a banal attempt to slap a band-aid on the staggering mistake that is the ending in the hopes it will silence the Retake Movement enough so that those who remain in Protest can be cast in a negative light by BioWare, i.e. "Look, we tried to work with them and it's clear nothing we do will make them happy."

What's worse is I'm seeing evidence that this "shinny keys" tactics is working on some of us. We need to Hold The Line, now more then ever. This is, once again, EA/BioWare seeing what they can get away with. We have to show we will not be placated by Anything Less then the content we were promised before ME3's launch via DLC which not only fixes the ending, but is made with the same quality as the majority of ME3's content. Hold The Line.

What type of turd did they polish?  Did they shellac it first?  Dry it, coat it with urethane?  Dry it and just buff it?  Use shoe polish?  I suspect the make and model of turd probably matters.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?

No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the
end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will
expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned

well i`m outa here, sure they can do what ever they want, but tbh this was probably the worst thing they could announce...cause it realy sounds like what we currently have was intended ..no twist, even no IT..wow just wow.

Real as it may be, and as welcome as it may be, I still feel this talk about "artistic vision" says little more than "cop out". By all means, the developers are welcome to include an ending according to a certain "artistic vision" they may have had, but that must not be a blank check to betray players into forcing them to experience something which was the direct contrary to how they chpose to play the game. Mass Effect has always availed itself to provide an experience to players that reflects the style in which they play. Staying true to its essence and the players expectations of the game does not violate any "artistic visions", it is being consistent, and I believe that is all we as players and fans of Mass Effect could ever ask for. Thus, I am asking that Bioware, before rushing in head strong and making a product that will upset more people thn it satisfies, instead take a step back, pause for a moment and pay heed to what is actually being written by the fans on this board. Bioware wants to end the Shepard arc, and they can do this, but it has to be given the ending that it deserves and one that the majority of players can feel both content and satisfied with.

This whole thing with the idea of a clarification dlc working is just disappointing.
For all of those willing to you should replace "hold the line" with "Tu mortuus ad me, Bioware" it means "your dead to me Bioware" in latin or something.

The problem with this announcement is that the "artistic vision" of the ending is insulting to players. It asks us to do a 180 and believe the Reapers are a good thing. This is further complicated by shoe-horning in this ghost boy/spirit of the Citadel and asking us to buy it.

It's just so bad, even my girlfriend who watches while I play couldn't get over how bad the ending was and extending a bad ending still makes it a bad ending.

It may not sound like what i hoped it may be...but I wish them luck with this. I stand by what I said before, that prior to the ending this game had plenty of art....I just don;t think they had an ending that lived up to everything before. I won;lt beat a dead horse. I will download it and try to see where this goes.

I would suggest some minor things. When Shep seems to be seeing his/her life flash before their eyes with crew faces panning by..I do think an important little touch was missing, namely...the love interest of all those on the crew would at least show up for this key moment, maybe at the end of a life. I only played through once so far and am on my fem-Shep currently. Tali was the first, and she was no where to be seen, which was missing a touching memory/reason to want to live, etc....Just please walk through this. Please ask the questions and follow through with them. If you can make the explanation have a few unique things that reflect the story we chose, it would help....

Again...I will be realistic about this....I wish you the best of luck in addressing this, for your sake and ours.

Gosh Bioware fans are a hard*** to please.

Let me repeat what's happening:

Bioware has just persuaded EA to give out something for FREE while also working to clarify the endings (indoct theory still open).

That is a miracle.

Hmmm. It being free is great.

It would be nice to see the Citadel being attacked and then being taken to Earth.

.. and videos for various recruited races for the final assault.

Keeping the choose door A, B or C idea seems a bit lame.

Dear BioWare,

the artistic vision of your team corrupts and breaks the narrative coherence of the triology. That is the central critical failure of the games ending and it's been adressed and explained many times over. Yet, it get's not resolved. A nonsensical and illogical conclusion, represented by the character of Starchild, can not be brought in line with the established lore of the franchise and can not present continuity or closure to the audiance, no matter how much clarification you put into it.

As this character alone is symptomatic for the most essential cause of our dissatisfaction with the games ending, the decision to keep him and his "solutions" (which are also illogical and nonsensical) does not make us believe you "listened" to us. In fact, it shows the very opposite.

As you value your "artistic vision", even if it clearly breaks a central aspect of the franchise and the the artwork as a whole, over the perception of your customers, you encourage us to not purchase future Mass Effect or BioWare productions. I will regard it further as an "informed customer decision" that BioWare products are not meant to entertain me, but to present and enforce a childish and in parts utterly stupid artistic experiment on me.

Thanks no. My money is better invested in other companies.

Meh.

It's not exactly what I wanted, but I guess it'll have to do. I won't complain or anything until AFTER I experience this new dlc content. It may answer everyone's questions and it may not. Here's hoping though..

I take it you didn't play Dragon Age 2.

Anyway, since I was fine with the ending besides the fact that I sacrificed a certain Krogan by backstabbing him and then being backstabbed by a treacherous salarian to preserve galactic peace which meant I just sacrificed war assets for a slight feel good feeling...I would really like to see how my legacy panned out.  Just saying...

I'll just throw that in www.youtube.com/watch
(33 minutes of cut scenes and 4 hours of additional gameplay)

Trying to find some more info in English but there's not much so far.

Well all free stuff and fans didn't even have to rebel about it...
