Gosh Bioware fans are a hard*** to please.

Let me repeat what's happening:

Bioware has just persuaded EA to give out something for FREE while also working to clarify the endings (indoct theory still open).

That is a miracle.

No, it is less than the bare minimum of what the retakers as a whole wanted.
It is just insulting, as explained here.

Since they are only extending the ending cinematics where Joker flaps about, I presume there will be no dialouge? Ergo, no vocie actors will be returning? At best maybe a word to two from Seth Green, but I suspect that will be it. I strongly suspect the only matter the new cinematic will affect is an "answer" to the question as to whty Joker chickened out of London, leaving Shepard behind. I.E the DLC's sole purpose will be an attempt save Joker's prestige. I doubt therre will be much room for anything else and I doubt the DLC will exceed 100mb in size, if even that. I strongly suspect they show it as him having to escort the massive flottila through the Mass Relay before they exploded, with Joker being the "last man in" to ensure their safe passage through. That way they could both save Joker's reputation of not being a coward, as well as answer the questioned as to what happend to the intergalactic flottilla, seeminly stranded at earth.

The only problem with this scenario is that it would be a total cop-out and a rip-off.

They had better not make a habit of it, for the sake of their future fans, because most of the ones that they have now are about to leave.

Which would make you what?  Grateful for swallowing a sandwich made from questionable materials?

Ever stop to think that we might be right?   That EA and Bioware screwed us over with such a bad ending.  Heck, they screwed over the entire universe they helped to create.  That is just disrespectifu towards their own art in my eyes.

LOL at Bioware

Do they ever listen to their fans? We did not want "more closure". In fact we hated that term since the very first press release on the matter. We don't want more "closure". We just want WHAT WAS PROMISED (*check Casey Hudson's previous statement about no A, B, C ending) = an ending that's worthy of the Mass Effect franchise. They understood nothing. Well, I'm done with Bioware...good luck for them expanding - and not changing - the terrible ending...

I'm going to reserve judgement until I see the end product. I'm still hoping against hope that Bioware comes through in the end. I just don't understand how they possibly thought this was worthy of the legacy of ME if I am to accept what happens is not indoctrination / hallucination, and indeed actually happening in the reality of the game. Why in the name of the lord would anyone who respects Shep, and the galaxy at large in the game, want to replay this saga if this is how it ends?! I, for one, will not, and any money I would have spent on future ME products will not be spent.

No new endings?
Well, if I'm remembering it right the existing endings were disappointing to say the least.
And now we'll get those greatly disappointing endings in new cover.
I'm not judging the forthcoming DLC yet. I just have a bad feeling about BioWare making another failure. Because I can't understand how this so-called "closure" will alter the fact that there is no good ending, only bad endings.
And yeah, all I said is just my IMHO.

Good. We'll see if it'll be good enough when the DLC is available for download.

Ok, after giving it some more time, I've actually dropped the wishful thinking that there might come any good from this.

I actually feel pretty bad about myself now that I've let myself be fooled twice regarding this topic. And yet, for a moment, I forgot all the previous broken promises about what the ending would be like. I was thinking "maybe they can come up with good explanation for all the loopholes" and "maybe they can rectify the abysmal writing".

But then, being so full of hope I made a fatal mistake: I started up ME3 and finished my second playthrough.

I guess I just needed a reminder of how bad things really are. This cannot be fixed by a simply clarification and some more vids. After reading through the announcment and their FAQ once again, I actually feel like BioWare is ridiculing me with it. It is as if they are telling me: "The ending is great, you just don't get it. But don't worry we will explain it to you.". The more I think about it the more this smells like a PR stunt to calm down some, but most importantely buy more time and avoid more negative press during that time. The provided release date, which of course isn't really given, of "this summer" will do wonders for them: They will stretch this out until "end of this summer" in the hope that even the more passionate fans might get "over it" until then. When they finally do release the DLC there will be no new outcry, even if nothing is changed and none of the plotholes are filled, as most of the people will have in fact moved on by then. The remaining few will then actually be a vocal minority, one that they will continue to ignore, feed false promises and ridicule. So this is what I think EA / BioWare is hoping / planing for and, honestly, I think it will work.

Were does this leave me? I was hopeful a few hours ago. Now? I am angry...

How can you call something garbage when you don't even know what it is yet?

Also those series you just posted are terrible.

Kinda feeling the same way. The body of the game is awesome, though the endings are quite the opposite.
So I'm wondering - may be BioWare just trolling us?

One can only hope that enough people start realising shady and unethical business practices for what it is, and take action on it by not supporting such companies in the future.

The world is never going to be a better place if people keep ignoring when companies screw them over and continue doing business with them despite the hubris of said companies.

A
TURD

...no matter how many blue babies you give me :(

Actually Mythbusters proved you can polish a turd........but to get back on topic, did anyone ever for a moment think they would actually change the endings? Really....they stated they would not, just add clarification. Which IMO, means that they are just trying to shut the unhappy fans up. Very sad actually, since I have have played bioware games since Minsc and his beloved space hamster.

Just another notch for EA's belt, another great company down the crapper. Oh well there are other games to play. You had a good run  Bioware thanks for all the great games :crying:.....Off to play Arkham City.....

What type of turd did they polish?  Did they shellac it first?  Dry it, coat it with urethane?  Dry it and just buff it?  Use shoe polish?  I suspect the make and model of turd probably matters.

If you have Netflix you can watch the episode, but if memory serves I believe, lion turds were one and maybe elephant turds. Also no to shelac, urethane just polished them turds they did....Gotta love myth busters

Even if they ARE terrible, they're still better than ME for not having Starchild McPlotholes ruining their franchise, in the most unworthy fashion of endings ever conceived by coked out writing personell.

I actually think this can be the beginning of something great - fans and consumers realizing their potential for calling out game developers and publishers on their greed, false advertising and more. I hope this wretched case of horrible business practise will serve as the launch pad for something great: The slow progressing march of forcing game companies to take responsibility for their retarded ways.
