Good. We'll see if it'll be good enough when the DLC is available for download.
Ok, after giving it some more time, I've actually dropped the wishful thinking that there might come any good from this.
I actually feel pretty bad about myself now that I've let myself be fooled twice regarding this topic. And yet, for a moment, I forgot all the previous broken promises about what the ending would be like. I was thinking "maybe they can come up with good explanation for all the loopholes" and "maybe they can rectify the abysmal writing".
But then, being so full of hope I made a fatal mistake: I started up ME3 and finished my second playthrough.
I guess I just needed a reminder of how bad things really are. This cannot be fixed by a simply clarification and some more vids. After reading through the announcment and their FAQ once again, I actually feel like BioWare is ridiculing me with it. It is as if they are telling me: "The ending is great, you just don't get it. But don't worry we will explain it to you.". The more I think about it the more this smells like a PR stunt to calm down some, but most importantely buy more time and avoid more negative press during that time. The provided release date, which of course isn't really given, of "this summer" will do wonders for them: They will stretch this out until "end of this summer" in the hope that even the more passionate fans might get "over it" until then. When they finally do release the DLC there will be no new outcry, even if nothing is changed and none of the plotholes are filled, as most of the people will have in fact moved on by then. The remaining few will then actually be a vocal minority, one that they will continue to ignore, feed false promises and ridicule. So this is what I think EA / BioWare is hoping / planing for and, honestly, I think it will work.
Were does this leave me? I was hopeful a few hours ago. Now? I am angry...
