So there we have it Ladies/Gentlemen.It seems the needs of the one the one being the Artistic Integrity out way the needs of the many.As it says in the good book.. As you sow so shall you reap and in my book... you are what you allow!!

To all you marvelous Mass Effect fans I indeed salute you and nothing but respect!!

It's not about artistic integrity. It's about money. What we want won't make them the most profit. Or so they think.

They think? No, I mean, the action "think", like using their brain, you actually believe they do it? <_<

Uh, well, personally I think this is good news..*ahhh,don't flame me, Bro!*

They're bringing back voice actors according to some tweets. They're trying to make it feel like a more personalized ending for each player.

Perhaps, the "cinematic sequences" will vary depending on level readiness..etc.

I want to see. If they do it right, I think this has potential.

No, they're not taking out starchild, but I didn't expect them to do that. But if they open up the dialogue choices w/ starchild; give me some cinematic sequences that reflect my level of readiness...and I mean some wow moment cin. seq.; and have a quality epilogue...I'm happy with that.

They might even throw in a lil gameplay. Maybe...And it's free.

I say, let's see what they cook up before we spit it out.

Well, people are tending to get past and ignore what that whole "polish a turd" thing really means.  It means that even if you polish a turd, all nice and shiny, IT IS STILL A TURD.  Are you happy that you now hold in your hand a nice, shiny, polished turd?  You are holding a turd.  Doesn't matter if it is polished or not.  Take a sniff.  Like that smell?  Do you wish to lick your fingers clean after you lay that turd down?  NO!  You were holding a damn turd!

It's a godd@mned turd!  You were stupid enough to expend effort POLISHING IT!  WTF?  You polished a damned turd!

As I have mentioned before, this sh!t is NOT a turd. It's all over the place - it's explosive diarrhea. You can't polish that no matter how hard you try.

Oh, gawd. I'm really not going to go dig those up. But I did read them. One that I specifically remember was on Gamble's tweet. Someone was saying they weren't even going to bring back VA. Mike said "you heard wrong". And another one from Gamble abt. "don't worry. we're doing that". When it came to the VA's.

Check out his twitter. That's what I did. I fthey're bringing back VA's...to me...that sounds promising.

Now they're just throwing sand in our faces.  And ragweed pollen.  And cat dander.

They need to learn the Golden Rule: Eschew obfuscation.

I'll hold my final judgment until I see what it is that Bioware does. This could be enough to fix alot of my problems.

Or it could be like trying to use a simple bandaid to fix half someone's head being gone. I want to belive thaat Bioware can and will fix this. But I'm unsure.

The ending of a story like this needs to be something besides thought provoking or unique, or dark, or artsy, or even fricken coherent. It needs to be fun, just like the rest of the story. And between DA2 and ME3, I'm not sure Bioware is intrested in telling fun stories anymore.

I understand the rationale of sitting back and waiting.  But theoretically they could put off this ending fix, until September, and still not be lying.  And then when it arrives it could still be an abomination.  In the meantime, we have given them almost half a year, in which they are allowed to carry on, business-as-usual.  They will get the maximum amount of profits they would make from selling ME3 near its release date.  And if September comes around, and we have nothing to show for our efforts now, whatever outrage we create then, will have no leverage.

We have to keep the pressure on them now, until we have something far more concrete of a concession than "we will clarify the ending with a cinematic epilogue."  They have already stated, they are not going to change the ending.  Just make the ending they chose, as more understandable.  We understood it, it stunk.

I told you all that this was the best that you could expect.

A few bullet points before I exit:

1. There was never any promise, proof or plan for 16 endings in ME3. Stop perpetuating this idiotic myth, now.

2. They were never going to take out Casper. All this seems to have been planned and if anything it all falls apart at the end for one reason or another. Too many mental gymnastics to explain, running close to certification date, etc. There was a rumor that the full game was playable as early as January 2010, simply lacking polish and all the assets.

3. Of course there's no ETA. It's an ongoing project. It is not WISE to set a release date publicly unless production is well over 50% complete because delays and setbacks inevitably happen and if the studio is forced to honor a release date when more time is needed to do what is wanted, crap happens. Things get cut. Shortcuts are taken. The like. Considering the nature of this package, they would want it to be as comprehensive as possible with their reputation on the line for many people.

Never before in Bioware's history has the maxim, "Expect the worst, hope for the best," applied most. And that is exactly what I am doing. So far I have been right, I don't expect that to change. But it could, and I would not mind.

This isn't a fix. They are simply trying to slap paint on the rusted out hulk of a game they wrecked. The ending CANNOT be fixed by expanding on it! It CANNOT. No matter what makeup you plaster on that f*cker you cannot make the illogical become logical, the irrational become rational, the retarded become not retarded. Only with religion can more handwaving over gaping ridiculous HOLES in the plot of the belief system in any way be called a "fix" or "improvement".

1+1 = 2 no matter how badly you want it to equal 3. It doesn't.

This so called offer is nothing more then a glorious middle finger pointed in our direction. That my respond to this.

Point to consider: Only a full-retard would buy any DLC BEFORE the release of the ending...obfuscation project. THAT is likely the main reason for the announcement: to trick people into thinking, "Oh, OK, they're going to fix this bastard so I guess it's all good", and then you'll get suckered into handing over cash for pre-ending DLC. Then MAYBE the ending DLC thing will come out, or maybe it wont, and you will then find that, "SH*T! This is even worse than the original!" Suckers. They already bled you of MORE money before they pulled the rug out from under you AGAIN.

Suckers.

Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series added, “We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player.”

http://www.businessw...-3-Extended-Cut

Let us be clear on this ONE point Mr. Hudson. We do NOT need CLARITY! This very phrase that has been repeated ad infinitum of "Clarification" makes the assumption that we, your LOYAL fans, just didn't get the "High Concept" ending that YOU created. <---This is an assumption on my part as you seem to appear to be the biggest defender of the ending and have stated things such as 'artistic integrity' more than once in various quotes attributed to you. I do NOT believe, due to the thematic and artistic differences from the ending to what came before that the writer for the ending was either someone completely different or that the ending was written using a different process than the rest of the game. It is so AWKWARDLY different that I could not believe I was still playing the game...I initially believed that I was in another dream sequence. WE, YOUR FANS, do NOT need CLARIFICATION. The assumption that we do is a slap to our collective faces...we are NOT idiots, stop treating us as such. We want an ending that logically follows the 3 games that came before it.  The ending was written by someone that DID NOT keep the possible choices that could be made in the game in mind...I ENDED the Geth/Quarian War...I suggested to EDI to pursue her own free will and that she also pursue a relationship is Joker if she so wished. These 2 choices alone INVALIDATES the main argument of the Catalyst/God-Child. The ENDING as written, DOES NOT FIT. Please stop pretending as if it does.

f1r3storm wrote...

What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?

For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer
extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to
the conclusion of Commander Shepard’s journey.
Again, we are not in need of clarity or deeper insight...you are assuming, AGAIN, that we don't get it...we do...we also know we can't stand it as it does not logically follow any of the choices we could have or did make in the games that preceded this poorly constructed ending.

f1r3storm wrote...

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?

No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the
end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will
expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.
How is THIS a WIN for anyone except for EA/Bioware. New ending while keeping the originals intact would have been a WIN/WIN for everyone. This statement of NO NEW ENDINGS will do NOTHING except create continued bad feeling from your core fans. We HAVE already started to abandon you, if no NEW AND DIFFERENT ENDINGS that LOGICALLY follow the games that preceded them, the we will likely NEVER purchase another Bioware game again. True I am but 1 customer...but you can kiss my money good bye. If the expansions do NOT do what we have, so far to this point, respectfully asked for, then you will lose your fans.

f1r3storm wrote...

What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?

BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating
additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending
sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity
and closure to Mass Effect 3.
Once again in this release, you are in effect calling us morons that need to have this ending explained...clarity we do NOT need. Will someone at Bioware PLEASE watch the various vids available on youtube or at least READ the various threads explaining everything that went wrong with your original ending.

f1r3storm wrote...

When will the Extended Cut DLC be available?

Currently the Extended Cut DLC is planned for this summer, no specific date has been announced at this point.
Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?

Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we
made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would
like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to
provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional
context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story.
http://blog.bioware....3-extended-cut/

Again, the statement where you will "offer fans ADDITIONAL CONTEXT AND ANSWERS" is again assuming we are idiots...I respectfully ask you to STOP using this language. WE GET IT!!! It DOESN'T MAKE SENSE and it DOES NOT WORK as a logical ending for these amazing games. Your games DESERVE a BETTER ENDING. I don't understand HOW you guys don't understand this...but it does. Your fans also deserve better. Stop HIDING behind the phrase of artistic integrity, get over yourselves, and realise that JUST MAYBE, you guys screwed up on the endings. You CAN still fix this...I ask that you take this opportunity and do right by this series. Don't let this end this way. Your company can still do right by it...

While I don't think Bioware is or would try to trick us in such a fashion, I think there is a point to be made with other possible DLC and the extended Cut.

If we want to send them a message on how we want them to handle the Extended Cut, we need to not spend one cent on any DLC till at least the extended cut is released, and only then if we the fans feel it answers at least our major questions (some plot holes filled in would be nice). And only then, would we dish out any money for other DLC.

I mean, it's not like we have to pay for the extended Cut, so we get that for free so we can guage if Bioware has regained the direction we loved throughout 99% of the game.

The plan, outlined better, here http://social.biowar...ndex/11037693/1

How so? They just said they would only creeate "additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes."

You're okay with the god-child and the colors creating same results for everything you did over the last three games?

To all the people STILL whining, just shhh. They were never going to re write the endings, they said that from the start. You should be more than happy they are giving you an epilogue.
