Well, problem solved. Everybody can go home happy now, no?

Just what I'm thinking.

People are *still* complaining.

Christmas gifts are free. Just because my grandma knits me a reindeer sweater for Christmas doesn't mean I want the gift.

I think it's VERY cool that they're offering this for free. But clarification on the current ending is not what I want. I don't have to accept it just because it's free.

No you don't, but you do sound like a whiny, entitled brat when you complain about it.

Dunno if it's been mentioned here before but there was this,

for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise.

Could be taken any way really but it sounds like the Mass Effect universe will indeed go one.

They can keep the DLC. I'm not interested in additional scenes that effetely "clarify" this ridiculousness. I wasn't campaigning for a new ending, but rather an extended one that added "post-breath" scenes for my Shepard. All this sounds like is they're adding additional scenes to the Battle for Earth and the Catalyst.

So we're only getting cutscenes and no new gameplay...this doesn't exactly sound like DLC to me.

Tell me how I whined. I said it is VERY cool that they're offering it for free, but sadly I don't want it. I want something else, something I'm willing to pay for.

Please, sir, tell me how it's whining to say "thanks, but no thanks". You've never rejected a free thing before in favor of something better?

Some people just like to troll.  If they really loved the game so much, they would be playing and replaying it, instead of spending time on the forums, attacking people who are attempting to make the game devs at Bioware/EA take notice.

The irony is, if games in the future are improved because of the Anti-Enders making a stand here, they will benefit from it, just as much as we will.

So the only way to win, is not to play?

I just wish people would stop throwing stones but that'll never happen.

It's not "whining" when the thing they're giving for free isn't what you were asking for in the first place.

"Sir? I ordered a burger. You gave me a salad."
"Oh? I'm sorry... let me fix that for you." [runs off and comes back] "There you go!"
"...This is still a salad."
"Yes, but it's a fresh new salad, free of charge!"
"........I wanted a burger."

Except a burger wasn't on the menu.

Using your same terrible analogy: A box was on the menu. You had the option of consuming the contents of said box. You didn't know if you were going to enjoy the contents of this box, but you decided to finish it anyway. You could have chosen not to.

I have to agree. The fact that BW has done this at all and it's FOR FREE is staggering. They didn't have to, but they did.

As if they would have retconned their own story ending.

This. We as the fans of Mass Effect were promissed many different endings, and that the decisions that we have made over the countless hours of gamplay would actually matter. When we are given something that is the exact opposite of what we were promissed, yeah, people are going to get pissed.

Extending? So they aren't changing it... Thats a bad choice. We don't want an explanation, we want the option of having a good ending. You can keep all the existing endings in the game but we also want an actual good ending where the mass relays don't explode, the Reapers get destroyed, and Shepard lives. Oh yeah, and no ghost child... As an extended cut, this is only going to make people more angry at why you decided to kill Shepard. It will also only show everyone sad that they lost Shepard. Why do we want to see that?

I agree, but Bioware works with its fans while developing the game, so the fans have some limited choice of what they want the game they will given to be like.

That only means there are 'about a million' (i'd say about 60,000) more entitled whiners out there.

Sure they do, but I think something as big as the ending of their story should be up to them to decide.
