This is great! The game was obvisiously rushed, and the ending was vague, and there wasn't much of any closure. So now they're delaying all their other DLC plans to make give us this, AND they're eating the cost. BioWare listened, and that's fantastic. Halo fans have complained from day 1 that the sniper rifle in halo 3 has bad detection, yet Bungie has insisted to this day that it's just internet connection lag, despite video evidence that the problem exists in local play as well.
Personally, I'm okay with a vague ending that lets me come up with my own epilogue. But I get why others wanted more. I just really hope people will relax and give this a chance. After all, it's just a video game.

They've not listened....or at least if they have, they've ignored. What they're offering is a half shambled lip service to try and look as if they're doing something, but actually changes nothing. A bunch of extra videos to watch does not fix the fact that the ending is not varied enough compared to decisisions made.

this is actually very far from what was asked for.
I dont like the endings, but at the same time i knew not much could be dont about it.
no matter what direction is chosen, for so many fans including myself the series is broken, and the fan base shattered.
i also dont know how BW/EA can claim artistic integrity when it was never their story, drew karpyshyn wrote the first 2 and left in good faith that his story would be concluded, i wonder what he thinks about the ending, and what the fans think.

The problem is cut scenes and cinematics might not be enough undo the damage. What has been seen needs to be unseen, as in cut from the game. Adding to it won't work imo.

This is what people keep fighting for but the thing is the game is already in disc form, it can't be done.Best to just take the scraps we've been thrown from the master table and refocus our energy on other business, like up coming titles.

Sure it can be done.  You release the fix as an update.  They update the game willy-nilly.  You simply make a bigger update than normal (some updates get to be HUGE because they have to update some big core files).

Happens all the time.  That means what is on disk is simply not updated.  Yet.

I dont mind them keeping the 'ending' on there....so long as it's followed up by something that shows it to be a prelude to the real ending.

A bunch of videos won't do that....and they've already stated that it keeps the endings there as full fact, absolute ending.

This is NOT listening to what was being asked...it's a gesture to try and make it look as if they're doing that, when they're not. Essentially, all they're doing is elongating the end cut scene we already have. How is that truly fixing a poor, lazy, shoddy ending? It's not.

Where is that "integrity" and "vision" going to be when they give the MOVIE the ending it needed and deserved but they blow it off for the thing that is their REAL job, the GAME?

You speak like you don't know that movies can have an open ending too. Yes, they can.
What do I think about endings? I don't know. I was sad and disappointed when I finished the game. But since that time I burned out and I no longer care. Bioware wanted speculations? Fine, I have mine about Control.
Except that now, with a HUGE number of people who vote for Destroy, I am beginning to fear that writers are gonna favor them above everyone else in their DLC's clarification.
P.S. I am not obtuse. English is just not my first language.

Thats what the new epilogues will try to fix. It won't simply be the same generic cinematic for everyone. If the weren't listening, they wouldn't be doing anything about it, and just pressing on with their paid DLC plans. I think everyone should wait and see what the content is before saying they didn't listen, and the epilogues don't fix anything.

Exactly, any new ending will have to be extended on to god boy.Devs can not simply write code to ignore code to tack on more code to satisfy the code all willy-nilly.We are stuck with god boy, f-o-r-e-v-e-r.:wizard:

Come to think of it....this offering is actually worse than just leaving it as it is.

As it was, people could at least put their own interpretation on it.

Now, they're actually being even more offensive with it, saying 'this is going to confirm the endings you hate are the absolute ending' by using videos to confirm that, just with a bit of added 'what happened to your squad mates'.

And what makes that even *more* insulting, is they obviously think their fans are dumb enough to think they're being given what they wanted and they're doing it all for us.

Shame.

As long as they answer the more nagging questions... I think this has potential. Giving closure to the characters is a good step forward, I was always curious at how your crew members did after the conflict...

You already know.  They were shipwrecked on Gilligan's Island world.  Your Shep LI hooked up with a random other crew member.  The end.  Closure for you right there.  They even SMILED when they got out of the wrecked Normandy!  SMILED.  Clearly they were anticipating the coming orgies.

Fixing this leak will slow down the sinking process. BW are now in a position where they have to regain the trust that was gathered since they started and then completely destroyed in just 2 years.

I wish the best of luck to the skilled artists at BioWare and hope they can break out of the corporate structure that sucked the soul out of the company.

This is a step back in the right direction.

It also shows that all they were saying about 'we need to wait for more to finish' and 'we can't say anymore for fear of spoilers' was totally misleading too. What they've presented contains no spoilers at all.......what they said suggested there would be some kind of added gameplay, which would change the current gaming experience of those still playing. Just a bunch of videos doesn't....so even *that* was all miscalculated on their part. Now, it's clear to see they were just stalling for time and trying to get a big reaction from the announcement by holding out to the Friday.

And Star Boy is the worst part of the ending. That's when the nonsense really begins to fly. This will likely be a gesture and nothing more. But IGN and Kotako are going wax romantic about Bioware afterward.

The clarified ending just came to me:

When Shepard moves towards the self destruct button, whichever color it is, a self destruct warning is sent from all Mass Relays, to all communication scanners within range. Since the Godchild/rEApers can obviously read and control Shepard, they know what choice he is going to make. And since Shepard is moving at the speed of a glacier in winter, there is plenty of time. The entire fleet bugs out, to avoid being trapped in the Sol system. Joker keeps the Normandy around long enough for transports to deliver the almost-dead bodies of your squadmates ((remember in Princess Bride, the difference between dead and nearly dead). And then being the last ship through the relay, the Normandy is chased by the rainbow colored explosion, and marooned on Gilligan's Planet.

Problem solved, Bioware can put that in a 5-10 minute Youtube video. I would appreciate it if they send me any royalties.

Now now.  Don't sell IGN and Kotako short.  They aren't just going to 'wax romantic'.  They are going to downright fellate Bioware...to completion.  And swallow.

Was Billy Crystal on the crew?  Damn!  I missed that part.  Maybe he's down there near Chockwas where Legion used to reside in ME2?

Good for BIOWARE for trying to be responsive to their fans who wanted a bit more information/clarity and good for BIOWARE to stand by their product and what they have accomplished with this series.

No matter what they do someone will be unhappy.

Yeah, I'd agree with that if it was just someone...or just a few......however, the sheer amount of fans that have been very unhappy with both the endings and how bioware have handled it......that's not just a case of 'you can't please everyone'....with those numbers, it's a case of 'they got it wrong'.

And, to give further closure, Liara will find some old Proth-Tech that allows you to take a strand of Shepard DNA they have on ice, and clone it.  Then EDI programs it with memories, and voila'!  Happy Ending.

Never said this is the ending I want.  Just saying this is the type of thing I expect from our upcoming free DLC.  Image IPB

Its a stalling tactic. Blatant and obvious.

Promising us something vague will come in a vague amount of time ('the summer'), and then saying they won't answer any more questions on the subject at PAX = hiding from the fans. They timed it one day before they would have to face them in public - its so obvious it hurts.

Sorry, but it doesn't take a talented studio three to six months to make a short cutscene. Because that's exactly what it'll be - a short cutscene, maybe 5 minutes long maximum.

They are just hoping by the time they release it, fan anger will have died down and we'll all be happy for the extra free content. Ready to buy the DLC they actually devoted their time to.

Can you can any more obvious? I'm not falling for it!
