It's gonna take a massive download to explain away the problems with the endings, not to mention explain how these endings don't completely undermine the Mass Effect trilogy in general.

I'll hear out the explanation, and check out the responses of other people who do download it before deciding whether to play it myself, or write off the series entirely.

Wow, they are trying to get you what you want and even before it's out you have already make your judgement that it will be bad or unsaticfied. I'm really glad I don't make games for you guys/girls. Can't we have a little faith in what they are doing? Isn't praise (In lack of words, not englishtalking.) better than racking down? Don't people get further with a positive influence rather then a bad? Not that we shouldn't say what we thought was wrong. Maybe just not be so anal about it!

This is true, perhaps.  I dislike this 'clarification' and 'added to' wording.  I mistrust it.  I'm waiting for the official announcement on BSN.  I want to hear what BioWare has to say, not EA covering their a**

Clarification is not what most fans protested for.

Whoever thinks they might rewrite their complete ending should stop living in a fool's paradise.

Why? It's that bad and deserves to be changed. Explaining it in any such way instead of changing it, would degrade the story further.

A lot of people have missed this, the offer expires on 12th April 2014

And it probably won't - they stuck this sort of thing on some of the free DLC offers, but they're still available.  They just put this sort of language to avoid making an open ended commitment that could cause legal issues.

Here comes the whining when people still don't get their happy ending where Shepard lives happily ever after.

For
the last bloody time, people do not want a happy ending. They want an
ending that isn't riddled with plotholes and leaps of logic that would
even make Evel Knieval go "Nope, I'm not that crazy."

Right, guess I'll just dismiss the countless threads demanding happy endings where Shepard lives and the relays are fine as irrelevent.

What's wrong with this being an option? I seriously don't get why people are against an option for a reasonably 'happy' ending in which Shepard and crew survive and the galaxy is not screwed with the destruction of the relays. At least make our choices matter but noooo we need every single ending to be dark and sad and be about Shepard sacrificing himself or it's not a good ending<_<

CHANGE the ending because it doesn't make sense. Don't add crap on top of it and say everything's fine.

Uggggggggghh.. Really hoping this is fake.

So if changing/adding to the ending so it did make sense, isn't enough?

So what was the point of bioware asking for feedback if all they are doing is clarifying the ending?

They want to know what needs clarifying, and what we need more information.

For example, it's fairly clear that we're not really getting what they intended from Synthesis, so they know they need to explain that better.  And they probably didn't intend people to think that the Mass Relays destruction was killing everybody, so now they know to make that clearer.

... if they would have listened a bit more carefully, they would have known that the majority doesn't even want an stupid epilogue.

Because no amount of "clarification" can explain those giant plot holes, lack of choice etc.

We didn't want "clarity". We wanted a rewrite to something that actually made sense, and respected our character choices.

I don't think all the cinematics in the world are going to make the ending coherent. All I can hope is that they've got some writers involved who didn't have a hand in the last ten minutes of the game.

Free is great though, good on them.

Please read plain English.  We are NOT asking for "clarification".  We KNOW what the ending was and is.  It was and remains sh*t, illogical, nonsensical, irrational, story-violating sh*t.

Clarifying it merely gives us a bigger, more detailed picture of sh*t.

Understand now?

You both wanted BioWare to do something, at the core of it. Did you really expect a company to erase their endings and make new ones? That's going too far and it would be illogical to expect it. Hope or dream? You could do that, but expect? No way. Not when it's been released to the general public already.

Also, I'd appreciate that the tone was less hostile. Again, you are getting something from BioWare, you should be happy that they even responded in the first place. Most devs would not do so.

Sigh.

There is nothing wrong with a happy ending (meaning Shepard is alive and w/his/her LI at the end...somehow).  NOTHING.  It is 100% in tune with the ENTIRE series.  Going 100% bleak and dark is 100% out of tune with the entire series.  No one wants to force you to be happy, to not be a nihilist, to not enjoy death and destruction.  You are free to enjoy bleakness and be all "edgey" and "hipster" all you want.  We simply want DIFFERENT endings that are clearly DIFFERENT and in tune with the entire series.  THAT means a happy-ish ending that can be earned by doing EVERYTHING fight is OK as a CHOICE.  Choice is the heart of this game.

Because no one has protested for "clarification".
The ending as it is makes no sense. The starchild makes no sense.
That is what people has protested for: Change that part, so it makes sense.

That can not be done via explanations. You can not explain "god" to make him look reasonable and logical. You can not explain the merging of synthetic and organic beings into a "new kind of DNA" without referring to stupid :wizard: (spacemagic).

So no, BioWare did not offer us what we wanted. In fact, they do exactly that, what people said they didn't want all the time.

Cut out the starchild, make something that makes sense! <- what we want.

Explaining the starchild, still be illogical and senseless -> what we get.

Understood now? Or do you need a painting?

What don't you understand that if they continue to add bullcrap ontop of what's already there, more bullcrap, it's just going to DEGRADE the story even further. Even though mass effect is SYFY it still has it's own guidelines. When you start mixing or stepping over the stories own guidelines then wtf is the point in even getting into the story?

NO.

the ending does not make sense, CHANGE it. Don't add more bullcrap on top of it.

No.  It HAS been done before, repeatedly.  People have provided clear examples in these forums.  It is NORMAL, it is DOABLE, it is DONE.  Period.  No argument can be made to deny objective reality.

Because it becomes the standard and without thinking, the "sunshine brigade" (as we've dubbed  them) would instantly metagame that choice and do so without any thought into the process and thus completely dismiss everything else relevent with the decision.

You want happily ever after? Go watch DIsney.

I'm really drained by my disappointment at the ending. I'll just wait until PAX for further info, then I guess I'll just have to see what they offer us and solemnly hope it's not stale crumbs. I probably won't buy any DLC until then.

Again, I'm callin' it: This is just a PR stunt in order to disshelve all of the bad publicity that the game has, since they're clearly losing sales over it. In short, it's a cleverly concocted lie in order to make anyone who has been avoiding purchasing the game think that the fatal flaw that people warned them of has been fixed - which it hasn't. It's just been glossed over and made into a bigger fatal flaw. They're honestly bein' pretty transparent with their intentions it seems.
