So they're keeping all the awful, nonsensical bollocks intact, destroying the Mass Effect universe as we know it, and just giving us more content to tell us why we were wrong to hate the endings.
I'm frankly aghast at how many of you seem happy about his.
I mean I get that it's free, but it's in no way solving any of the enormous fundamental problems the endings has.
Eh, sod it, I'm done, I really wish i'd never even heard of the Mass Effect games.
don't let the door hit you on the way out
Truly, Shepard does deserve better fans if the people with that highly ironic banner are anything to go by.
Aw well, if this alienates the Retake movement at least you can stick around with the five other people who liked the ending on this forum.

WHO CARES IF ITS FREE. Starbrat still exists. Your crew still leaves you. There are still 3 different colored explosions. All the clarifying in the world can't save this rubbish.
Starbrat only exists if you interpret the ending in a way he exists.

Why are any of you excited? You can't clarify "sh$&" and expect it to turn into "gold".
You can, seen Kindom of Heaven Director's Cut? It's way superior and it makes a lot more sense.
So if they explain the sittulation better, it just might be that you can see what they ment by the endings.

Free = Good
Personalised = Good
Context and Clarity = Bad
Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Better than nothing. I'll take it. And I'll reserve judgement until I see what it actually adds and clarifies.
Agreed !

Although ppl wanna change, I'm contented with this, though a suggestion is to take out the ghost child totally, and cut at where Anderson dies

The extensions could be in the middle of the sequence, not necessarily at the end. IT theory COULD be revealed as true. The are a lot of possibilities here, so don't poo-poo it just yet. In the end, a CHANGE is being made. Adding something is a change (e.g. 1 is changed to 2 by adding 1...).
Don't think free = poor quality. Zaeed's mission, Firewalker and the Normandy Crash scene in ME2 were free and well done.

Please don't waste your money on something NOBODY needs. Neither the enders nor the retakers want clarification for god-child!!!!!!!
Please listen and UNDERSTAND before you decide that kind of stuff....

I'm fine with this! The last five minutes of ME3 were rushed as hell, with barely any idea of what your choices really did, and what the fate of society and the normandy were. If that is all cleared up then I have no reason to complain.
This is true, however if it turns out that the galaxy really is put into a dark age etc etc. then it's replay value is still lost for me.
The ability to have both spectrums of happy and sad ending, and everythign in between is the only thing that will get me to buy any future DLC for the ME universe.
EDIT: And it appears that this will not be the case, so, sorry BioWare, you aren't getting my money for ME3 DLC or future ME products. However, it IS signifigant that you even do this much so I no longer hold grudges for other IP's from you.

The negativity many treat this with is disheartening.
As bad as the ending is BioWare are addressing it, not just with clarity and closure but also PERSONALIZATION aka showing the results of your choices.
It is also FREE.
This is a much better result than I expected. Of course it doesn't address everything (thematic disconnect, bad storytelling) and remains to be seen how good it will end up being, but outright negativity is not the way to recieve this announcement.
+1.
I agree. I get that people are disappointed, but first let's see how this plays and if it's bad then we'll have the right to complain. But I understand why people are upset.
