This summer, huh?

So, keep our mouths shut for another ~3 months.

Great work, BioWare. Great work.

Judging solely from the description of the press release, it sounds like BioWare solicited everyone's complaints and critiques regarding the ending and then promptly ignored most of them and did what they wanted to do. This is like pouring more soup into the bowl rather than doing the smart thing and just taking out the fly.

Unless they can somehow "clarify" into the game varying tones to the ending then thanks but no thanks. It was especially irritating that after all my hard work my Shepard still had to die in two out of the three endings and the survival ending seemed to have been arbitrarily picked out of the three.

somehow... I don't think this is going to really satisfy many of those disgruntled fans... its explanations for one after the other set of series breaking handwaves... its bloody difficult to explain it all away. and MUCH less satisfying... really, they see negative feedback... but have they seen the real specifics of it, why people are really unhappy?

I think its got to the point that people are going to be appeased at a certain level, but certainly not completely satisfied with these explanations, and I don't blame them.

If you have to justify something like this, you have to question whether or not you made a bad call to begin with.

that being said, Until this thing has actually been made more clear than just 'hey, somethings coming' I do reserve my judgement, but until I am satisfied I'm not going anywhere.

I may not like the endings, but if the majority of plotholes are explained and we see the results of our actions (perhaps further tailored to our individual playthroughs) it will be enough for me to come to terms with ME3's ending. Can we expect the ending to go from what it is now to utter perfection? No. We should all try to keep an open mind lest our expectations destroy any chance at enjoyment of what is to come.

When it is out and it sucks THEN complain. Until then, constructive criticism, hold the line, and wait. Vote with your wallet if other DLC comes out first.

BIOWARE & EA!!!

you do understand that any future $$$ you see from me will depend solely on how well you execute "clarity & closure".

For what it's worth, since it's an extended ending, I hope they put the full extent of the Anderson conversation back in.

That sh** brings me to tears every time.

I'd love to see them put the full scene in the game.

Better than nothing, if you ask me.

Also, did I see some pro-ender troll try to start something?

You should read what the actual complaints about the ending are... what we don't need is clarification, what we do need is an ending that works with this series.

Ok now, that the IT theory is pretty much debunked, I want the creators to answer these questions:

1) Why does Shepard bleed from Anderson's bullet wound?

2) How can TIM control Anderson?

3) How is Shepard alive on Earth?

If they can actually "clarify" the ending so it isn't complete bull**** they are talented.

A delay is good. A delay means some thought and effort will go into this. Summer's a big window, and five months development is a lot more than two.

The speech is speech. Sure, I could hold up the "staying true to the art" line as proof that Starchild is staying. I could also hold up the "16 endings, not going for ABC" line as proof that the ending wouldn't be what it is. Taking Bioware at their word about this sort of thing hasn't got a very good track record and I'm not sure why people are eager to start now.

Basically, nothing has changed. The answer will always be in the end product.

Good move Bioware, hopefully this will sort out the plot holes, and answer more questions than it raises. Brilliant game, hopefully getting the sort of ending it deserves.

EA: Extended cut coming this summer. And.... while waiting for it: why don't you just buy another DLC?

PS: At least, the epilogue is free...

The ending as it is was utterly non-sensical and it will be interesting to see how BW 'polishes' it up with "clarity and closure". It's free which is a good thing, but I withhold any singing praises of BW until *after* I see what this DLC covers/clarifies. That is when I decide about Bioware, not before and forget that they had to do a DLC for the ending in tthe first place.

I hoped they do realize our question about the ending was more than just how and why with the Normandy. It was the wtf with kid and the logic the kid sprouted.

"You're getting more of our amazing starchild vision. We're adding some dialogue-free cutscenes and text walls to explain how right our plothole-filled mess is. It's free because we're not really doing much and we're not changing anything in-game, but it's going to take us until "sometime in Summer" because goodwill is more valuable than the further disappointment you'll have when you realize this is all you're getting. Until then, we're going to make it sound awesome so maybe you guys will be relieved enough that our Aria DLC won't be take too big of a hit in sales."

This is a pretty depressing picutre you are painting. Mostly because it's probably true.
The old Bioware is no more. It's all EA timetable from here on.
