extra cinematics and epilogue. So the gameplay part is done?

Yep, Bioware has to explain the ending to us stupid gamers since we didn't get their Artistic Integrity™ version of the ending the first time.

Bah, I'm done with Bioware.

Providing closure is not the same thing as explaining.  Closure is what they are going to provide.

Closure is what they've said they're going to provide.

Given that the current ending is already what they thought "closure" looks like, I wouldn't take that cheque to the bank just yet.

Wait until the EC comes out.  Then throw a hissy fit.  But only after you see it.

Yes... because just being silent about the BS that is this response from BioWare and just letting it happen without issue is certaintly going to result them actually putting some effort in and doing a proper job.

Actually, to be honest, even criticism is just lost on BioWare these days. Clearly. There's just no point. They never listened in the first place and have slapped this stubborn, arrogant, half-assed and half-PR patch-job non-solution instead of actually going to the effort of fixing things, so there's no way they're actually going to pay attention now. This clearly isn't about doing the right thing or actually fixing the problems with the endings for the fans: it's about damage control and trying to save face. But they're too blind, stubborn and stupid to realise that it's just going to be the same thing again whenever this releases because it's nothing more than a stubborn, arrogant, half-assed and half-PR patch-job non-solution.

BioWare just don't learn. DA2 and ME3 have both shown this, as have other decisions. It's essentially a waste of words falling on ears deliberately choosing to be deaf.

And now you're just putting words in their mouth.  Rather flagrantly too.

No, I'm just translating their press release on this matter using my "PR BS to English Dictionary" for those who don't seem to be understanding it. It can be hard sometimes, since PR BS and English are very similar in a lot of ways and share a lot of terms.

I dont like the current endings either but reading a lot of these posts just makes me shake my head.

I would willing sacrifice all your souls for it too be summer and gettin to experience extended cut.

Yes you mean that little.

Our souls are dead - they were acquired in a hostile takeover by EA and BioWare, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece.

They called it art.

Why are poeple still complaining when we don't know what the DLC will even contain, and that it's FREE? Who can possibly say with 100% certainty that Bioware can't fix this? Give it a rest already! Let them do their jobs! Heads up high! We are getting a FREE dlc from a company that makes money off of us. This is the first time this happens in gaming history, guys. Wait and see. When we know exactly what it's going to contain, we can have legitimate complaints then. As it stands, all complaints about this are... wait for it... SPECULATIVE complaints!

I agree 100%.  I am saving my energy  for when I play the DLC.  I know it's not what a lot of people were looking for, but it's a start.  I also don't think that BioWare will rewrite the whole ending, that's just my gut instinct. <_<

“Clarification”?

Let’s see. An illustrative metaphor perhaps: You were caught “in flagrante delicto” by your significant other. Furious and heartbroken, your bags were packed and set by the door. You’re informed that a car has been called for you. And your next words are basically, “Let me explain”? You think what’s lacking, what’s required, is a clearer understanding of what happened? Really?

Do what you want. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that you wanted this relationship (with a good portion of your most dedicated patrons; check the badges under my avatar for instance) to continue. Good luck with that.

I say screw the writers' "artistic ending". The writers screwed up, so why try to protect their feelings? Grow up writers. You screwed up.

If Bioware and EA make this right, I'll support them 100%. If not, there will never be another dime of mine going to either one of these companies. Period.

Unfiortunately for me, I only have one badge... That's because ME2 was registered under a variation of a googlemail address that I no longer use, and doesn't appear on this profile... And ME1 obviously isn't included in the stats.

But I was part of the series from the very beginning... And this will be my last BioWare game I ever buy.

If they want me to buy DLC, they will need to fix the ending.

Pity they're not going to do that, but instead add "context and clarification" to it.

Puh-leeeeease... it barely took any analysis at all to see through this PR BS. But after what's about 3-4 years of it now from BioWare, it's hard not to.

Well, it looks like you don't play it at all.  If that turns out to the be case, I'm done.  I'm hoping this is just PR doublespeak and the original ending is "clarified and extended" out of existance, but I'm losing hope at this point.

I am not saying anything until I seethey are it with my own eyes. Right now I will at least believe that they are working their asses off to do two things. 1)Preserve their vision and 2)Still manage to explain their ending to the fans in such a way that it makes sense in addition to giving the fans the closure they want in epilogue fashion. Until I experience this content, I will safely assume they are working hard to make this happen. When I download it this summer, I will not have my expectations through the roof. That way, if it's not amazing, I'll be okay and if it is, I will be blown away. But until it is seen, I do not think anything negative should be said. Criticize the current ending we've all seen all you want, but do not critique something you know nothing about.

Very few of you have any idea of the "effort" it takes to make anything for a game. Even the worst game are so far beyond your abilities its laughable.

If you take the time to play another playthu opposite of your original playthru you would see how much effort, time and care was put into making your choices matter and be relevant.

Things can play out radically different dependent on your choices thu the series.

Yes i know the endings are the same regardless but thats what extended cut is for.

Better explain and differentiate the three endings.

Give them a chance.

Nicely put.

My main hope is that it lights a fire of rage under all the fans if this thing is as bad as I think it is.

This. It doesn't matter how much you extend, explain, or clarify crap, it's still crap.

I really, really wish I could be there at PAX tomorrow to see this storm explode.

It's like people have ordered a roast and are calling it crap before they've even tasted it. How irrational.

I, too love Game of Thrones. Best. Show. Ever.
Pulled me out of Mass Effect: Depression.

I think everybody should wait to start complaining. They could pull it all together. Not like you have to pay for it. I understand, I really do, but you have not seen the DLC yet. I hate the end too, but clarification was all I really wanted. Honestly, I would accept Harby eating Shepard and all the plot holes along with it, but I will also accept general clarification. Wait and see, no need to be all up and arms yet.

No, it's like people have ordered a roast, been told "roast isn't artistic, even though it's our specialty, but we understand you wanted roast so here's some dog vomit that has a few of the same ingredients".

Probably better to fix a broken ending. It is objectively, narratively, broken. They can't fix it by adding explanation at the end. It will not work.
