I hate to use this phrase, but get a bloody life for christ's sake. Is your life so devoid of meaning you can't possibly wait one or two months?
At least we know it isn't going to be rushed.

If they are aiming to maintain their artistic story arc, then we lost. Because their artistic arc = turd.
It's stupid, pathetic, and doesn't fit AT ALL with the themes of ME.
I'll download the FREE DLC, but that's it. Bioware is dead to me.
same I spent $70 on ME3 and its defective, I wont give them another dime

No gameplay? Just a crappy cinematic that will show how the races lived happy ever after? WELL NO. If this is really what they will do i rather not even get this dlc. This is really going to be the last BioWare game i buy.PotterGaz wrote...

The negativity many treat this with is disheartening.
As bad as the ending is BioWare are addressing it, not just with clarity and closure but also PERSONALIZATION aka showing the results of your choices.
It is also FREE.
This is a much better result than I expected. Of course it doesn't address everything (thematic disconnect, bad storytelling) and remains to be seen how good it will end up being, but outright negativity is not the way to recieve this announcement.
This!
I rather pay 100$ But get the product i was promised to get.

It will be interesting to see what it is they add but personally I don't care too much about this.
I'm with Justin Clouse of The Escapist on the matter. The endings are not just bad but broken. Based on this statement from EA I can't see this extended cut changing this.
So will probably download and see what it is exactly, but the view of my Mass Effect experience is likely to remain the same: Brilliant moments forever to be marred by '...but that ending.'

Bravo EA if true my faith has been restored. The movement worked guys we can pat ourselves on the back.
Not yet - for all we know this will be a bunch of extended cutscenes showing what happened to the remaining teammates from the series, and perhaps explain why the normandy wasn't fighting the reapers. While I want to really want to see this, I doubt they will change the 'godboy' ending and save the relays.
I look forward to seeing what they've done, but I won't hold my breath.

For me, this was the main point.Velocithon wrote...
People are forgetting what we fought for.
If there are ONLY cutscenes, that means we STILL have just THREE choices (Red, Blue, Green). We still have the SAME dialogue options (none). Our choices STILL don't matter.
THAT WAS A MAJOR POINT of the fight and Bioware dicked up again by just adding more movie scenes.

Completely agree with you here.
One would've expected an announcement like this to be received with more joy (or at least a cautious happiness).
This is a great thing. We should be supporting Bioware while leaving helpful comments to aid them in making this new content.
Really??? They're doing the bare minimum they can get away with. They clearly havn't listened to anything people have told them.
The bare minimum would be something like "lol here are some text epilogues", not several months of intensive development time and disruption to their exisiting schedule which they are not charging for.

No more endings: A, B, C or R, B, G.
Nope, now we get: EXTENDED CUT A, EXTENDED CUT B, and EXTENDED CUT C!
And let us not forget: EXTENDED CUT red, EXTENDED CUT blue, and EXTENDED CUT green (now with 80% more color).
Seriously, I'm gonna hold out my judgement, but I am disappoint.

It seems that the we are beyond BioWare's comprehension. They did not understand one freaking thing from all our effort to tell them that the ending sucks, no matter how much they extend it and try to clarify it. The donation to C'sP, the cupcakes, the great, constructive walls of texts detailing the plotholes and possible way of retcon, the Indoctrination Theory... all for noth... this. Extended Cut with more cutscenes.
Congratulations, BioWare!
Okey this post made my day

Do you know what cinematics means? They are just adding cutscenes and epilogues. No gameplay. No IT. There never was any indoctrination.
Besides, even if it is true, how the HELL is Shep supposed to do anything afterwards? Unless it's a repeat of exactly what happened while Indoctrination was occurring.

'this summer' isn't exactly a short timeframe either.
cinematics don't take that long unless they're going for the full CGI thing. That would be a nice touch, but it would be an un-necessary delay imo. The game's engine is more than capable unless they're planning something big
If they add video during the battle / post battle scene or after the normandy crash. Even if it's all cutscene, they still need to finish them if most of them were alpha before they were cut in some case. Don't forget that this will probably be done by a much smaller team compare to everyone who worked on Mass Effect 3. As another small team is probably working on DLC too. While the rest move on to another game.

Even if they will make the best ending of all time (which obviously is not going to happen), EA/Bioware still will not see my money ever again.
What? How does that make any sense. They messed up, they are trying to fix it. For free. With time that could be better spent on making other content that they would probably charge for.
Everyone was asking for closure initially (although many will deny it). Now we're being given closure and people have moved the goalposts claiming it's unnacceptable. I'm completely bemused.

More gameplay is not a requisite for IT to be true. Also, since you seemed to have missed it, gonna quote myself.
I also think IT isn't true, but this information in no way disproves
it. BioWare is being very vague, possibly intentionally so. They say
they're
not changing the endings, they're adding clarification. That's so vague
it could be anything.
For example, they could simply say that we don't understand the ending,
because we haven't seen the whole thing. The "clarification" would then
reveal that Goku stopped the Reapers while Shepard was unconscious, and
everything after that point was just a dream. They didn't directly
contradict the previous ending, and they added clarification, so
technically, they didn't lie. Even though we now have an ending where
Goku saves the day.
Obviously I'm being facetious. My point though, is that due to the vague
wording, they can change anything they feel like without actually
changing anything. This means nothing is off the table, and nothing is
any different than it was before the announcement, except we know it
will be coming in summer.
