I still feel them giving us this is way more than what any other game company would do...
How can you even say that? It's factually inaccurate.
Apologies if so.
Who else has done this?
Bethesda.
Bethesda did not change the ending, they made post ending DLC. And it wasnt free
True, but in this case post ending DLC would, in my opinion, be better than a clarification.
In most case Shepard die and become ash... how could you do a post ending

no game play
no choices
no exploring
no interaction
Only your getting more movie time explaining the ending.
Like I "really wanted more movie data to populate my SDD drive for clarifications....."
Unless more information or more confirmation coming tomorrow from PAX, I'll reserve judgement on my opinion.

Just drop it already. Complete 100% change of the ending is NOT going to happen. Be happy they're doing anything with the endings.Blue Liara wrote...
This is not the end of movement. Do not yield, keep on demanding a CHANGE not a calcification.
Hahaha THAT 100%

Earlier today someone just came up and punched me in the face. I was about to say, 'Excuse me, sir, but I believe that was uncalled for.' But he smiled pleasantly at me and said it was 'free', so I thanked him.
Well put.

Whatever I'm just going to wait and see how it turns out, then I'll decide whether Bioware games are worth my money anymore or not.

I'm officially done with mass effect.
The only reason they did is so they do not embarrass themselves at PAX about the ending.
2 month for what? More pictures and probably 5 minute clip is what I am getting at from this annocement. We know how you handle pictures, look at tali face.
Good Luck trying to sell your next game, I hope you lose a large chunk of profit and realize you handled this situation in a bad banner. I do not give a crap if this crap dlc is free, I would have paid money for better ENDINGS.
You won't be missed.

The idea of added cinematics and an epilogue is enough to satisfy me, if it is done correctly and not half-assed. Yes, I hated star-child. Yes, I hated everything about the ending--not only the lack of clarity, but the plot, the setup, and the reasoning. BUT--would I really like a completely reworked ending any better? I'd just play through it and know, in the back of my mind, that this isn't the ending Bioware wrote, that this is just a bone thrown to the fans. I wouldn't get any more satisfaction out of playing a thematically changed ending, because at the end of the day, it's still just a replacement for the ending we already got. It would give me no more satisfaction than reading the fan-fiction endings posted on BSN. EA may have done gamers wrong int he past, and I know Bioware screwed up, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the DLC comes out. Hell, they could have charged us for it, and they would have made a ton of money on it, regardless.
Yes, agreed. This is a really good point. Still doesn't change the fact that the ending makes me sad, unsatisfied, empty, depressed (in a weird, but reasonable way).
I'll wait till tomorrow to hear the specifics.

Good luck with still thinking you represent the majority.
from the ign page alone:
Stop whiny already. Jezus ppl. You cant ask for more then this now.
I wish they would have charged for it. I wanted to hear all those little cry babies cry out in anguish and rage.
lol i didnt see the free part. but still people will have something to complain about if this dlc isnt up to par
I heard about this (and I'm glad it's free). I welcome this news!!!
I doubt it will address the plot holes, but at least it will solve some of the issues.
Works for me.
Hopefully people can finally shut the hell up and stop crying, but I doubt it.
Babies getting their bottles and still complaining.I don't want to live on the Citadel anymore.
Hahahaha! Can't believe they caved in to all those trolls
This makes my day!
Many people want an entirely different ending. That was never going to happen, and it probably shouldn't. This DLC doesn't have to make me like the ending, it just has to has to get the ending to make sense. Close MOST of the glaring plotholes, fix the rest by showing what happened in the aftermath and i'm good to go.
Why are people complaining about the ending? A lot of it made sense. People are never satisfied. That's why they had to change the original ending they had; people simply b!tched about it. What would have been the perfect ending? What end would have satisfied everyone? Nothing.
Your face is utter rushed crap. Quit complaining and start appreciating the fact that they even make games for you to play. With a pseudo-elitist attitude like that, it's a wonder that the game industry still stands at all.
Nice now I won't have to hear anymore complaints from fans.

Bethesda.
Not like there are other RPG making companies that gives us FREE Enhanced Editions or anything ...
Yeah that's what I was thinking...
Getting a few render cutscenes for free that don't even have dialogue in them isn't really substantial. They should really put in effort this time and not just weasel out by giving people some additional render sequences that are easily done in a couple of weeks..

And yet, I still expect to be disappointed.....
If they screw this up too, it will just confirm for me that Bioware has lost their touch and they will not be seeing any more of my $$ in the future.
If they *do* get this right, however, it will restore the entire franchise back to one of the greats.

Btw, I can spoil the Ending DLC if you like?
One scene where "the cruicble is doing nothing, retreat" by Hackett to send all the races back to their original worlds. (this is why Lance Henriksen knew about "big plans")
Once scene where someone convinces Joker to leave the space around Earth since the rest is retreating and him stubbornly refusing until the very last second. This includes him picking up Cortez and the squadmates on Earth.
One Scene where the crashed Normandy finds civilization on the crashed planet.
Then some splashscreens and maybe a few animations showing squadmembers with children. Including blue babies.
The utter sh*tpile of writing with GodChild remains unchanged since this is Caseys artistic vision put in as a reminder of how it is to work with EA and their Child logic.
This leaves ME in a state where all the players are back into square one except Humans who will be divided up between the Hackett faction who got stuck after regrouping a Mass Relay or two away and Andersons resistance back on Earth.
No matter what choice we took Shepard is dead (even in Destroy, that was just silly pandering and will amount to bubkiss) and the Reapers leave/die without doing anything.
The synthesis will be ignore in any setting in the future except maye as a circuit texture package.
There you have the glory of Mass Effect.
As beautiful as if Luke Skywalker had said to the Emperor "Sure, Dark Side sounds like the right thing. I will become your b*tch and then die"
There is a very likely possibility of this happening. That is why we need to let our voices be heard. Keep telling Bioware that you will not accep their latest PR trying to quell the fire crap. Demmand a new ending not a calrification of this piece of garbage that is the current one.
Hold the line.
+1
