Bioware CANNOT screw up.

They are walking a fine line right now. If they redeem themselves and listen to EVERYTHING the fans have been saying, WE ALL win.

If they choose to ignore us and still follow their "artistic vision", the backlash will just get worse and Bioware will lose a TON of fans, myself included.

Thank you Bioware! Can't believe that people are still complaining (fat chance that Bioware will change it again if the fans will hate it). Be grateful that they listened and made it FREE, although that was their only option really imo.

Just drop it already. Complete 100% change of the ending is NOT going to happen. Be happy they're doing anything with the endings.

Shep lives = I'm happy. Shep is actually dead = screw you, Bioware. I'm done.

Shep lives IF you pick red and play enough multiplayer. That's already been established. In any other event, Shepard dies.

Edit: And clarification means that the same things will happen, we'll just get some more details on it.

This is a PR move. They are doing this to try to calm the waters before PAX because they know there is going to be a furore at PAX if they don't do something. This still has little real substance in it.

Also if this does turn out to be true. It is another massive slap in the face. We want a new ending that erases the current one.

But that was never going to happen, so.....

I'm certainly not a fan of the ending, but I didn't really expect them to announce a brand new one. At least this should clear up some of the questions, and it's free.

They have time, they have our opinions, reviews, words, actions and a lot of other stuff too. Let's give them a chance, so they maybe do a good job - or at least a better job.
We fought and we we were heard.

Give Bioware a chance :)

A delay is good. A delay means some thought and effort will go into this. Summer's a big window, and five months development is a lot more than two.

Or a delay means they want to keep us guessing since the only reason a lot of people are still hanging around is because they think the issue might be resolved to their satisfaction. They still have DLC to sell us, y'know.

^ This. Sadly.

Btw, I can spoil the Ending DLC if you like?
One scene where "the cruicble is doing nothing, retreat" by Hackett to send all the races back to their original worlds. (this is why Lance Henriksen knew about "big plans")
Once scene where someone convinces Joker to leave the space around Earth since the rest is retreating and him stubbornly refusing until the very last second. This includes him picking up Cortez and the squadmates on Earth.
One Scene where the crashed Normandy finds civilization on the crashed planet.
Then some splashscreens and maybe a few animations showing squadmembers with children. Including blue babies.
The utter sh*tpile of writing with GodChild remains unchanged since this is Caseys artistic vision put in as a reminder of how it is to work with EA and their Child logic.
This leaves ME in a state where all the players are back into square one except Humans who will be divided up between the Hackett faction who got stuck after regrouping a Mass Relay or two away and Andersons resistance back on Earth.
No matter what choice we took Shepard is dead (even in Destroy, that was just silly pandering and will amount to bubkiss) and the Reapers leave/die without doing anything.
The synthesis will be ignore in any setting in the future except maye as a circuit texture package.
There you have the glory of Mass Effect.
As beautiful as if Luke Skywalker had said to the Emperor "Sure, Dark Side sounds like the right thing. I will become your b*tch and then die"

Shhhhhh.....don't give them ideas!

Alot of people are being overly emotional right now. If you want Bioware to take you seriously wait until further information gets out on what they are actually adding in those cut scenes. We've beaten the game, I dont think its unreasonable to ask what direction they intend to go with the added scenes. We still dont know what the dlc will focus on and how it will affect the ending or even *if* will it affect the ending. Pax is one day away. Save your tears/joy for after all of the major announcements have been distributed.

Also im seeing the line start to shift a bit. Some people are ok with the ending so long as its more coherent and believable. Some just want to see their squadmates in a more concrete final scene. Some just want to know the answers to questions left hanging. Some want their own specialized ending right down to a specific one per love interest. Some want a completely new ending on a different planet...

My point is that everyone has their own specific ideas for how to handle the ending fiasco. What united us was that we wanted bioware to improve the ending. This is happening...one way or another. People be careful making threads declaring anything more than that. Seeing titles like *We wanted X* has already lead me down the road of *hey that guy doesnt speak for me*. In order to keep the line, we must respect each others opinions and accept that everyone will not be equally satisfied no matter what Bioware does.

No, we are not going to drop it... the characters we have known and love deserve a better ending. If Bioware and EA are too stupid to realize that in helping US they are helping themselves... then we will just have to continue drilling into them.

Hmmmm... Not sure if WE is more stupid than BioWare and EA. :wizard:

I am done with EA. This is the worst thing they could do. There's no way gamers are stupid enough to "not understand" the horrible lore-breaking plot-hole ridden ending.

EA Killed Mass Effect.

Can I just pay for new endings? The current endings are HORRIBLE, yes this press release is better than nothing, but not good enough for me.

You have a point. But why not wait (at least until tomorrow) before judging by yourself?

I mean, at least they're putting effort into doing something. We still have to see if it will be worth it or not, yes, but come on, at least give them the benefit of the doubt before outright dismissing their work.

There is a very likely possibility of this happening. That is why we need to let our voices be heard. Keep telling Bioware that you will not accep their latest PR trying to quell the fire crap. Demmand a new ending not a calrification of this piece of garbage that is the current one.

Hold the line.

Remember this post, because i have the feeling that the force is strong with this one

This sounds like as if there is release of other DLC in near future and they fear that many people will not buy it. So they give a vague statement about release of an ending DLC to keep the people in line.

even if it is free, its not worth my bandwidth if its simply going to "clarify" the endings. You can't explain away ridiculous plot holes or out of character actions.

Very much this. I'll wait to learn more before I render judgement. I'm not optimistic about it and I'm not holding my breath, but, I'm not going to assume it's absolute tripe until I actually see it and decide for myself.
