Wait... so, where do BioWare or EA actually announce this thing? There's nothing on either of their websites. Or maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

This just goes to show how Bioware has completely failed to listen to our complaints. This is just ridiculous.

So guy's it seems that it  now starts....

German Gamestar posts too (in German):

http://www.gamestar....51,2566570.html

First I would thank Bioware for not ignoring us.

But guy's (Community):
Please hold the line but calm down and do it in a positive way. Stop flaming and wait until we EXACTLY KNOW what this extra Content contains!

Do not some speculations! Hold the Line! But with a positive basis. This is not the end but EA/Bioware got a step towards us! So they deserve that we (still holding the line) calm a bit down and keep to be fair!!!!!! This is very important!

I'm very excited that we got a promising (and not hope destroying) reaction! But I am aware too that this whole thing kann still suck.. but please and again:

Hold the line, calm down and have an precise eye on what's going on the next months...

They didn't hire the voice over actors for this....expect a bunch of slides with some text in them....

I am cautiously optimistic...

It's great that we got news, and that this 'ending' DLC is going to be free... though I am a little concerned. I hate to say it but I would have paid to assure quality DLC (even know that would have angered a LOT of people). Hopefully this DLC will be up to par.

As for this clarification thing.. I hope it's not just clarification of genocide. Maybe there will be a scene of Joker roasting marshmallows on Planet X

Not expecting very much is sensible. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't appreciate Bioware for making the effort.

This sounds more like justification for a bad ending than what people were asking for. Clarifying things is all well and good, but doubtful it includes the possibility of a "happy" ending based on EMS and choices, and a "grimdark" ending based on the same. This one will wait for summer, see what comes of this. Wouldn't be surprised if it amounts to "All Normandy crew die of starvation, disease, or old age, galaxy is screwed, the end."

You get additional content for Free. You are complaining that it is bad, yet you haven't even seen all based on a very vague press release. In how many different ways wrong is that?
I liked the ending. I admit Bioware could have made somethings better, but hell they are trying to fix that so that is fine in my books.

Just to remind you guys what was promised to us by biggest liars in the videogame history:

“… part of what you’re trying to do is save the universe so you can live in it. That’s part of the promise, I think, for any great IP. It has to be a world worth saving… I think Mass Effect has that quality to it. If you get rid of the Reapers and win that, wouldn’t it be amazing to just live on the Citadel or just take a ship to Omega? That makes sense.”- Casey Hudson

...

Oh, ouch.  Where is that quote from?  Because that just stings.

If they give more closure and an epilogue depending on your choices, that's fine. However, that means the flawed logic of the Catalyst is still present, which will always make me groan.
Instead of keeping the Reapers in the galaxy as a form of police for possible uprisings, they are used to wipe out all organic life. Great idea, kid! That makes perfect sense.

Assuming the indoctrination theory is false, that is. Not saying I think it's true, but it's a lot more bearable than what's sitting there on my disc...

Clarity isnt going to fix whats broken. The problem isnt lack of closure the problem is the ending doesnt work

This is a PR move. They are doing this to try to calm the waters before PAX because they know there is going to be a furore at PAX if they don't do something. This still has little real substance in it.

Also if this does turn out to be true. It is another massive slap in the face. We want a new ending that erases the current one.

But that was never going to happen, so.....

You don't know that... The thing we have on our side is being right. The thing they have is time... where people like you start to cave like spineless jellyfish. You put pressure on EA through the wallet, through the social media... blast them in an honest but critical fashion... you see, to date Bioware's biggest advertiser has been us... WE have told people about how we love Mass Effect and that turns other onto them... at least I do, cuz I have friends... maybe not ALL do here but... you get my point. If Bioware and EA tell me that they are not going to fix the wrong they commited at the end of my game... then they are letting me know they do not want my business and they do not wish for me to encourage people to buy their products. Its that simple.

Yes.

I do know that.

Water is wet, the sky is blue,, the sun rises in the east,  and you were never going to get anything that you saw on the screen wiped away.

And I'm not "caving." Caving implies that I expected a whole new ending and am settling for this. Check my posting history. All I ever wanted. All I ever EXPECTED was for it to make sense.

It's you and people like you that expected things that you were never going to get. And now you're crying because the sky is blue?

Take your money and go then.

I will give it a chance, maybe it will be good maybe it won't. It is going to be hard for them to clarify that ending but who knows. Maybe they will change it enough so it makes more sense. This is it though, ether they make it work and the game ends up being what it always should have been or basically it goes the Matrix, Star Wars, Aliens, Terminator route of a franchise that outlived it's promise.

Then we will just have to count on the fans to fix it.

"There are many different endings. We wouldn’t do it any other way. How could you go through all three campaigns playing as your Shepard and then be forced into a bespoke ending that everyone gets? "- Mike Gamble

I want to gather all these together and print them on an insert for my me3 box.

But...but you clearly don't understand you whiny entitled person, you.  IT'S FREE!!! Problems solved!!

It seems that the we are beyond BioWare's comprehension. They did not understand one freaking thing from all our effort to tell them that the ending sucks, no matter how much they extend it and try to clarify it. The donation to C'sP, the cupcakes, the great, constructive walls of texts detailing the numerous game-ruining plotholes and possible ways of retcon, the Indoctrination Theory... all for noth... this. Extended Cut with more cutscenes.

Congratulations, BioWare!

^ THIS! All for nothing.

This....All Day Long

Speak for yourselves, people are thrilled with this.

i knwo I am thrilled. It;s awesome that they are even doing anything at all, but is it enough? That remeains to be seen.

Well its a start, I'd be amazed if just additional cinematics and an epilogue could fix that ending.

This just feels like a patronising attempt to subdue the fanbase without actually fixing anything. Can't say I'm surprised, but I am thoroughly disappointed. There goes 100+ hours of my life down the drain.

Well, it's (hopefully) better than nothing, but not really, what most people wanted, I guess.

It kinda sucks, because my Shepard will always die, since I don't play mulitplayer.
