I opposed the Retake movement because, as i was happy with the ending, i wanted BioWare to focus on creating totally new story content and not just rehashing something i'd already experienced.

Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series added, “We have breprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player.”

This is exactly what i didn't want. This isn't due out until the Summer (we're barely in Spring) so god knows when something new will be released. This hurts me.

Nothing really new here. What is "clarity" exactly for them?

Let's wait to see what it really is. But that's a good it's free.

Free crap. Delicious. If anything, IDT can be put to rest.

It seems that the we are beyond BioWare's comprehension. They did not understand one freaking thing from all our effort to tell them that the ending sucks, no matter how much they extend it and try to clarify it. The donation to C'sP, the cupcakes, the great, constructive walls of texts detailing the numerous game-ruining plotholes and possible ways of retcon, the Indoctrination Theory... all for noth... this. Extended Cut with more cutscenes.

Congratulations, BioWare!

If true this might work for BW in the short run. Some Retakers will take this and claim [a hollow] victory. Other Retakers will just give up. Other Retakers probably wouldn't be pleased barring near expansion pack level work.

I'm not sure how many Retakers would be left to hold the line.

If true a sad day indeed.

Not sure how I feel about this....still no real proper ending, after all.

I wonder how many BioWare employees think destroying their series defining characteristic wasn't worth 'lots of speculation from everyone...'

“We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player.”

Some new items here to take note of. Firstly they have confirmed their post launch schedule has been changed. Yes, we suspected this already but it is nice to know for sure they are not just "continuing as planned" and are acting on the outbreak.

Secondly, and more importantly is the last bit "will feel more personalised for each player". This is new, and significant, because it means they will be working on that crucial "choice" element.

Do people who immediately dismiss these statements as "more PR gloss" even read them?

You just didn't GET it, man! You just need them to explain it to you. In small words with lots of pretty pictures. THEN you'll see they were right!

I'm not convinced. Yay... closure... awesome... Why can't you just admit that you f***ed up? Trying to explain this with closure had either be perfect, or I'm returning/selling/giving ME3 away.

Here's hoping for the best. You have to understand that "changing the ending" totally and saying it aloud publicly now is like bowing down and companies don't like to bow down. F8cking big companies don't like to bow down even more.

So, wait, download and play. Might be even better than what you think it is from what they say.

Why announce this now instead of tomorrow at PAX?

Give them a chance. They're spending some real time on it. Let them go to it.

Really? You have to troll like this?

As to EA's announcement, let's see how they respond to this at tomorrow's PAX announcement.
