All I saw was Bioware giving the fans the middle finger. Well, right back at you guys.

As of this moment, I will never buy anything with the name "Bioware" on it ever again.

I'm done Bioware. You've gone from having me in full on "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" on ME release date to a completely lost customer. If you can't see what a big mistake that "artistic vision" was, then I don't feel safe buying anything else of yours.

Don't let the door hit you I supposed?

The important thing to take from this is that finally, in writing, we have confirmation that no new/alternate endings will ever be released. It sucks, but at least we have closure on that.

Good to hear Bioware have been listening, and full credit to them for taking this on the chin and doing something about it.

I'm just really praying they get it right - writing the ending for a series people love as much as Mass Effect is tough enough already; having to re-write/expand on your ending because no-one liked it is going to be an almighty task!

This really is nothing more than a BS PR stunt. Why not just *tell* us the bits we're missing? I'll tell you why. Because they want us to buy their DLC in the meantime, so they can make their desired profits for this quarter, and think about how to replace the fans who are about to abandon them. Or maybe just give themselves time for enough of the CoD crowd to buy some copies of ME3, because they heard that there're ****** and enormous killer robots in it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I will not be buying products that have no meaning for me. I will not be playing a game when I know it can't end in a way which gives me pleasure. That's not why I game, and feeling sad is not something I seek from my recreation. If this doesn't actually give me *something* to feel like I've been rewarded for 100+ hours, then I see no point in playing it.

Shep still dead?
Relays still destroyed and the galaxy is f&%ked?
Normandy still stranded?
If the answer is "yes" then they should shove their "clarification" up the place from where they pull out the ending.

So Bioware is really calling this ending artistic?

We get it, you like the ending and dont want to change it. But stop pretending its artistic. Using tired old plot devices is NOT artistic.

And you might want to address alot of the false advertisement stuff. You know, the whole 'not a,b or c' thing. Unless, of course, all of bioware can't be trusted and everything they say should not be believed.

"The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned."

You mean they will expand on the RED color and the GREEN color and the BLUE color? It's the same ending, but maybe we get to see control, synthesize, and destroy.

Man, complete garbage. Sorry, the more BioWare says the more I realize they have lost touch.

After reading this I gave up on this DLC:

"Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?
Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story."

The line is overrun...

I'm still waiting to see if that ending was intended or not. Looks like it, but nothing is sure. Still, the fans won and if you don't like what they said ("artistic integrity"), it's EA PR people speaking. True artists don't use these words to protect themselves. Only thing we have to do now is sit back and wait.

And stop complaining...

If it's a colourful explosion that lets my Shepards settle down with his/her love interest, then I'll feel a bit better. It'll still be a ****, ****, ****ing **** ending, but at least it won't also be a ****ing miserable one.

Bloody hell, I'm swearing. I think I might be having emotions.   :-/

Interesting.

+1 for listening.

Further points to be awarded or rescinded after I've seen it for myself.

Maybe they have 2 plans and announce this to see if they get away with it cheaply, if it fails, they continue developing a new ending
With every one still doubting with that artistic crap flying around, maybe they`ll announce a new ending as this won`t cut it :pinched:

Am I crazy to say that I really don't see a problem with clarifying the current endings AND adding a few additional, alternative endings?

I think completely retconning and changing the endings is too much. But won't MOST of us be placated if we have a choice to get clearer "A, B, C" endings AND a few more?

What's wrong with that? Wouldn't many be happy with something like this? And we get to play the game some more! I'll pay for a few additional endings.

Does that ruin the artistic integrity of the current endings? I don't think it would? No, it really shouldn't, should it?

i agree with this.
