Well seems they've reached some sort of compromise, I can dig it. My main feeling at the ending at first was confusion more than anger. So i'm glad they've set their aims on clarifying the ending. Also its free so I can't complain. Thank you Bioware for showing you still care.

lmao

I hadn't really had any strong feelings regarding the ending besides distaste, but those dot points there actually made me mad for the first time.

The current ending is SCREWED up beyond repair. No amount of clarification can fix what we have now.

Come on Bioware/EA, just give the fans what they want. Change the ending. Adopt the indoctrination theory, give thanks to the fans for having come up with it, and all may be alright again.

Not going to happen. They just definitively stated that the endings will NOT be changed, due to artistic integrity.  I don't know what the epilogue will look like, but regardless the mass relays and the Citadel will still be destroyed, which pretty much disproves indoctrination.

Well, it's a shame indoc was not used - or planned. It could have been an awesome moment in videogaming history.

Calm and clear: ME2 and ME3 will now end up in my wastebin. ME1 will remain among my collection of great media, and I will pretend post-Karpyshyn ME never happened. Never a good thing when the lead writer changes.

Glad I did not buy the Prothean DLC, and a shame I won't be able to enjoy any upcoming content either.

Coming this summer, yet offer expires April 12th? What?

At least it's SOMETHING, think we will need to hold the line until release though.

April 12, 2014. After that, it's just not free anymore.

EAware please explain why Joker ditched me and appears to have attempted a relay jump while still having enough time to scoop up members of my squad on Earth. Javik, the $10 DLC that was not part of the game, would not have bailed under any circumstance.

So... they're not altering the ending. Which sucked. They stand by this mound of tri-colored poop. For some reason. Okay, then. That's their decision, and here is mine:

You've lost my business, BioWare. Not another penny out of my pocket. And definitely not another penny for EA, either.

I will remain cautiously optimistic. I have no plans to buy any DLC for ME3 until this extended ending releases though. I am curious what we will get specifically- is a fourth choice going to be added to refuse the star child? Or will they just explain the relays being destroyed/Normandy crashing and explain what happened to everyone after the fact?

Now we just have to be a bit more patient. Hopefully they will still give some more details on this at PAX, but now I doubt they will.

They said that the endings will NOT be changed or modified; there will only be "additional cutscenes and epilogues."

Am I crazy to say that I really don't see a problem with clarifying the current endings AND adding a few additional, alternative endings?

I think completely retconning and changing the endings is too much. But won't MOST of us be placated if we have a choice to get clearer "A, B, C" endings AND a few more?

What's wrong with that? Wouldn't many be happy with something like this? And we get to play the game some more! I'll pay for a few additional endings.

Does that ruin the artistic integrity of the current endings? I don't think it would? No, it really shouldn't, should it?

i agree with this.

You're NOT getting any additional endings. Read the press release. It explicitly says that the choices will be exactly the same, they just explain them a bit more.

"The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned."

You mean they will expand on the RED color and the GREEN color and the BLUE color? It's the same ending, but maybe we get to see control, synthesize, and destroy.

You'll get the chance to choose exactly what shade of each colour using hexadecimal colour codes. Choose Red to match the annoyed fans 'Red Mist/Bloody Rage', Blue to match the precise shade of sad blue for the miserable betrayed fans, and finally Green to match the dollar bills in EA employees eyes as they release paid MP DLC content.

Why is tobito113 still around? It's a troll account that is rude and overtly antagonistic to other players and always has been. Mods ate you going to ban this guy or just those that don't agree with how this is playing out?

Last paragraph,... your proud of endings, not changing them.

So, Hudson and Walters keep their "artistic integrity" of an ending , while Bioware loses its reputation as a quality game developer and thier fansbase in the process.

Thats my opinion.

I hope many of the 90%+ people at Bioware who had nothing to do with the ending take their cue and leave to form their own development game company. I am not purchaing anything Walters & Hudson are attached to in the future and will start my boycott of this Bioware and all of EA immediately and forever and will tell every gamer I know to do the same!

Loyal customer since KOTOR lost.

So, the team is proud of spacekid, huh?

Image IPB

I couldn't possibly say that with a straight face.

Lol, nope. I bet my ass the rest of writing team is facepalming just as hard.

Great Bioware/ EA. You took a house on fire and pored gasoline on it to put it out. Thanks for killing ME.

Artistic integrity my ass. After the **** they pulled with Mass Effect 3, they have no integrity left to lean on as an excuse. Goodbye, Bioware. I would say I'll miss playing your games, but after DA2 and the ME3 debacle... that would be a lie. *scratches another name off the developers-to-support list*

Better yet, read the blog post they just posted. It explicitly says NO we're not changing ****, we believe in our artistic integrity.

Such a line of bull%^&$.

They really believe that they are protecting their artistic integrity. Amazing to watch a company spew PR lies and then believe them.
