Interessting but it wont work.

The ending itself is bad and a clarification wont work. Better to accept that they need a alternative ending

I have a feeling that Bioware is going to be changing the ending... Because very few are going to buy something that only explains why the ending sucked even more than we it did.
They are just wasting time explaining things they screwed up insted of correcting the issue... It's like I am playing a Blizzard game...

I strongly support the idea of the extended ending.

Dam, I'm disappointed. My overly high expectations trampled again by BioWare; here I was hoping for an add-on Power Point epilogue.

Anybody betting that this DLC will take conclusion confusion to new heights? The more they meddle with this, the more muddled it will get.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see what they've done. Can't say I'm not a little disapointed but it will be worth a try.
Thanks Bioware for listening!

As I've stated before, I'm not stupid and I don't need their further explanation, context or clarification of the ending we were given.

They can keep their "artistic vision."

At least its free and will make some people happy.

So ultimately Bioware still won't deliver on its promise of "layered, non-traditional endings"? So we stilll have endngs A, B, and C, but now a little more differentiation in terms of added cutscenes? Clarity? I guess thats fine, but why not deliver on your promises or don't make them at all? It's a great game but it fails to deliver on its promised features. The story wll remain inconsistent and arbitrary, but if that's a reason to be proud, go ahead. A bad, illogical story-end still discourages early gameplay. Either way, summer time is Activision's turf. D3, baby.

EAware please explain why Joker ditched me and appears to have attempted a relay jump while still having enough time to scoop up members of my squad on Earth. Javik, the $10 DLC that was not part of the game, would not have bailed under any circumstance.

they are going to say that.. when the retreat was ordered... joker thought that was code for "OMG EVERYONE RUN!". And well cortez picked up youre tea... oh wait. umm someone ELSE picked up the team and was kind enough to drop them off on the normandy in the middle of a massive space fight. How kind of them to track down the fastest ship the Alliance has and land inside to drop off your friends.

And as for your friends? Who had been through suicide missions and had vowed to stand to the end (especially javick him leaving makes NO fricking sense and never will) well they all suddenly lost their nerve and had to fall back. Your LI decided eh screw it I've got Liara, if your LI was Liara then she says "fk it i've got everyone else" and peaces out.

see ... clarification...:wizard:

Thank you Bioware. I'll look forward to this DLC that should help to provide some clarity as to what happened at the end.

Sounds like they might as well just put a wand and wizard hat on the kid. I guess I'll just have to wait and see, but I'm not feeling very optimistic... though it'll be interesting to see how they're going to explain all the plot holes and inconsistencies (if they'll even bother trying).

Alas, it seems the end wasn't part of a grand plan, it really was just badly concieved.

Fair play to bioware for listening to the fans and providing some free DLC as a result of the large amount of disapointment from the fanbase. I always felt that actually changing the ending was a difficult one for them and this or some kind of continued "actually he was indoctrinated" scenario was all we could hope for.

It doesn't change the fact that I don't like the concept behind the end and that it contradicts basic plot points from the same game (geth/quarian peace).

Now that this has been anounced time to forget about mass effect for a few months and see what they produce.

In the words of a rubbish song: Its not right, but its ok.

"The teams artistic vision"
From what I've gathered, the ending was the artistic vision of Casey Hudson and Mac Walters alone. And, as it appears, at least one of those two might be a complete hack.

Hi All - this is true and you can read more here:

Last paragraph,... your proud of endings, not changing them.

So, Hudson and Walters keep their "artistic integrity" of an ending , while Bioware loses its reputation as a quality game developer and thier fansbase in the process.

Thats my opinion.

I hope many of the 90%+ people at Bioware who had nothing to do with the ending take their cue and leave to form their own development game company. I am not purchaing anything Walters & Hudson are attached to in the future and will start my boycott of this Bioware and all of EA immediately and forever and will tell every gamer I know to do the same!

Loyal customer since KOTOR lost.

So, the team is proud of spacekid, huh?

Image IPB

I couldn't possibly say that with a straight face.

Lol, nope. I bet my ass the rest of writing team is facepalming just as hard.

The talented people left at Bioware leaving and starting up their own company could be the only good thing to come out of this. The guy who wrote this blog, no....

Why would they break the hope of all the fans out there who wish it was all a dream because the ending was so bad?

Is it not enough that people puke acid and cry for days because of the fact that the ending is just bad

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?

* No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

F*** YOU Bioware/EA! Take you "artistic vision" and lie to someone else for money. I would say your a bunch of prostitutes, but at least they're honest about what they are selling.

I wonder who it was Bioware were listening to then? It wasn't me, honest, not my fault.

Yes, exactly. It's a compromise. It's a far-sided compromise on their "side" on their "agenda" which they are completely within their power to execute. Yes, yes, they didn't HAVE to offer anything at all.

But--and I really don't mean to sound entitled here--it does feel like they said "we listened" and "we appreciate your thoughts" and even advertised multiple endings and all that AND YET they still place their artistic integrity over consumer feedback and requests.

Look, I don't fault BioWare for doing that, but it still hurts.

I can understand why those who wanted a new ending would be upset, but the fact that they are going to extend the ending to help clarify what happened and fill in plot holes, for free, is a good thing. I personally think they should have already done this when the game was released, but still, they are getting it done. I hope they do a good job.
