Also, don't applaud EA for giving out a free DLC. Having this carrot out there will leave people hanging on to their copies longer, so less copies are on the secondary market, more new purchases, so money to EA. Same reason Multiplayer was put in really.

I have a hard time believing that a "clarification DLC" can salvage this mess of an ending.

In the current ending Bioware shows you a turd, and the fans asks "wtf is this???" and Bioware says nothing.

With the clarification DLC its more like this:
Bioware shows you a turd, and the fans asks "wtf is this???" and Bioware says "it's a turd".

Awesome. Made me laugh so hard. Spot on.

as i said in another thread that got shut down:

I will consume the DLC in the summer, and then walk away - permanently. Mass Effect 3 was supposed to be the justification to deal with EA and Origin...but Bioware ruined that so I'm done. After this DLC, I will be actively avoiding EA games permanently, there are plenty of other games out there that can satisfy your gaming needs. A shame? yes, but Bioware has brought this upon themeselves, artistic vision my exhaust port. Anyone needs me I'll be in my BattleMech :P

in the words of Jim Raynor: "I'm gone"

Only going to play untill I see the "clarification" and then I'm going to uninstall Mass Effect series. No point to them anymore.

Well, maybe I play ME1 and ME2, but 3rd is now discontinuity for me.

The day Bioware and EA goes bankrupt , all I will do is gloat and laugh.

Or gets closed by EA.
Call me heartless bastard, but once one goes with "F you, i'm above you" attitude, it's time for him/them to go down.
So yeah, time to make room for other companies.

As I said, new VA work involving at least Shepard has been confirmed.

Trade in your copies and youtube the extended scenes.

soo many posts to read...

that's great news.. but i would also love to see a revamp of the final battle similar to ME2 suicide mission where you gotta make choices prior to the assault.

here's a link from what i thought was a great idea...

I... am very disappointed. I had actually hoped for more than "clarification" of the ending. As most of the people here i was hoping for a redone ending, added choices, SOMETHING that made it make sense and work with the rest of the game.
It's better than nothing i suppose...
I'll be wary of and avoid Bioware in the future, cuz i don't want to be set up for disappointment like this again. It's such a shame that'll end like this.

This isn't a victory.

It's just to shut a few more people up.

Will Tali get an actual unmasking? No, probably not.

Will our choices get some more weight under them in the ending? Nope, doesn't look like it.

Congratulations, Bioware. You managed to keep your 'artistic integrity' (lol photoshop), but you won't be seeing me spend a single dollar on any more DLC.

Don't speak baddly about photoshop! :(

love these "fans" who say they are never going to buy a nother bioware game ever again.

Just do it then.

More ltd/collector's editions for me.

The tone of that article was insulting. Plain and simple. So long as the manufacturer is satisfied with their product, the consumer can take a flying leap into a deep, dark hole. I'm done with Bioware.

I'm cautious about this. It could be that the added writing is extensive enough that it knocks out 95% of the problems in the ending (the other 5% remaining because Star Kid is still in there). It could be that it doesn't. Either way, it's no more expense to me to download it and try it out to determine whether or not I truly buy another BioWare game, so I'm overall pretty pleased by this development.

Looks like new players WILL have to pay for the tacked-on cutscenes after April, 2014.

"No, it's free. No extra cost if you've already purchased  ME3."

Am i the only that was hoping it wasn't free? At least if it was paid DLC it would have to be something of note.

It seems like the Retake Mass Effect movement has come to produce some results. The groups goals have always been very diverse and some within the movement see this as a victory. It is a compromise and as such shows just how effective the movement was or can be still if pressure is still applied.

This has made me so sad. I think I'll download it just to see the whole thing, but the whole franchise has just been ruined. And the worst part is that they still claim it's artistic. Anyone can say "I made this and it's art". If the creator is the only one saying it's art, it's not art.
