Jesus christ, no other game company that I know of have changed their ending because of whining. Are you really still pissed? Just leave the forum and play some other game. I've been disappointed by games too but I don't make it a ****ing life mission to make them change that one game.

Bethesda.

They only wanted to do money and they didn't change the ending much anyway as you could always survive. They only allow you to continue playing after the main mission.

As I said, new VA work involving at least Shepard has been confirmed.

Starchild is voiced by Hale and Meer.

Jeebus, it's going to Starchild sitting in a chair in front of a space fireplace telling us what happened like we're children.

Before you folks start slashing your wrists and throwing yourselves out of windows maybe you should wait and see what the DLC is like first?

Wait, wait. Hold the damned train!
People are counting this as a win?
The anti-climatic ending stays, the glaring plot-holes will have a huge chance of staying and we get what, a few minutes extra tagged on and everyone is celebrating?

This people is a huge fail. It's a sad, sobbing ending. It isn't a sacrifice, it isn't even a good will thing. This is what you give people to FINALLY shut them UP!

With the amount of PR spin in that press release and the FAQ the only thing we can say for sure is that they're releasing something that can clear up the mess they gave us. Weather that be IT, something that actually makes sense or a few minutes of cutsceneremains to be seen.

FINALLY we will get a video telling us to buy DLC, instead of the text message.

You shouldn't give them ideas

I'm not sure how things like Shep's friends betraying him and running for their lives could be explained (and God, I don't need them EXPANDED), but I'll reserve my judgement till I see the extended cut.

The IT could still be true, after all..

If this is done well, it could at least help to make amends for how poor the endings are now. I shall reserve judgment until I get the opportunity to see them.

That's what they want us to do, trade in your copies this week and end this. This is the only way we can send them a message.

So now I get to actually SEE Liara abandoning me at the conduit instead of just imagining it? AWESOME!!!

LMAO

Now, you get to see exactly WHY Joker turned chicken and abandoned his captain of 3 1/2 years! Why your two squadmates left you to die! And WHY Joker now has to create babies with your LI of 5 years!

Maybe they'll show us scenes of Garrus and Tali starving to death on jungle planet. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

What I read from this is "there are some fans not clever enough to
understand what we've tried to tell with our endings. So we have to make
the endings more clear, for - you know - those slower kids..."
Moreover, the term "extended cut" and no word about the additional game itself suggest that nothing will actually be changed.

I remain suspiciously pessimistic.

Glad I wasn't the only one to reach this conclusion.

Problem is, there is no other game quite like Mass Effect. It wasn't just about blowing up big bad aliens with big guns, it had actual emotional relevance for a lot of its players.

Anyway, I've seen plenty of people complain about things that i considered to be unimportant too, but i don't post and swear on forums to make people stop complaining and posting on forums. If you're pissed at all the 'whining', leave the forum.

So let me get this straight.

Star-child will probably get a few more lines of dialogue (the last character in the series that deserves anything other than a reaper-laser to the face)?

Shepard might say a few more lines before completely surrendering to the star-child?

So I will get to watch Garrus and Liara turn around and walk the other way as we charge towards the conduit instead of picturing it?

My choices still won't mean ****?

The Rachni is still just another 100 point war asset?

**** you, Bioware.

Yeah, because that's all we've been saying. We'll commit suicide because of this. Hyperbole much?

Just stop with this perfectly logical approach! You should be screaming, whining, returning all your BW games and opening rage threads

It seems that the we are beyond BioWare's comprehension. They did not understand one freaking thing from all our effort to tell them that the ending sucks, no matter how much they extend it and try to clarify it. The donation to C'sP, the cupcakes, the great, constructive walls of texts detailing the numerous game-ruining plotholes and possible ways of retcon, the Indoctrination Theory... all for noth... this. Extended Cut with more cutscenes.

Congratulations, BioWare!

This.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?

No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.

This is all I needed to hear. You have effectively just killed the Mass Effect franchise with what you call "artistic vision". Have fun going into administration !

Nice, thank you Bioware for the acknowledgment that we are too stupid to understand your "artistic vision".

Note for the future, maybe if your sense of "let the reader make his own ending" wasn't so goddamn awful, this wouldn't be needed. Thank you again for the second middle finger.

This is sickening. It just shows that they either wren't listening at all, or listened and chose to ignore us. All in the name of ego.

Congratulations Bioware. I've bought every game you've made since Baldur's Gate, but you've lost me as a customer.

If they care so much about ~artistic integrity~ then don't change the ending (as broken as it may be). If they don't and it's just a load of PR nonsense, then don't slap together some low effort compromise that won't make anyone happy. They're only making things worse. These consumers are the life-blood of the company and keeping them in your good graces is paramount. You don't bite the hand that feeds you unless you want to live off of food stamps in the unemployment line. People want to be pleased. These are some examples other people have used as well:

Some people were pretty bitter about Liara's "cold shoulder" and weak excuse in Mass Effect 2 but were excited and relieved when the Shadow Broker DLC was announced (and are now no longer bitter at that part). Or, non-Mass Effect related, when Doyle brought Sherlock Holmes back. They weren't mad at ~artistic integrity~ but were excited they're getting more adventures with characters they grew to love.

You see, when artists fix their bad decisions, their biggest fans breath a sigh of relief and get back to uncritically praising everything they do. They don't whine or complain. They're not beyond pleasing like some people suggest. Do something right and people will flock to it in droves.

Just as i was reeling from the sheer awfulness of the ending they decide to really stick the boot in with this token joke. Well at least we know the listen to feedback stuff really is a sham.

you won Bioware, but i will stand my ground, and stay true to my word.

*Salutes*

From this day forth, i will never buy a game from Bioware. They will not receive a cent from me.
My comrades, if you are as dissatisfied as i am....

*extends hand*

Take my hand, and hold this line with me.

Yep not one dime, Bioware! Its time to learn the term "Starving Artist".

I'm so disappointed right now, I can't believe they're refusing to add additional endings. Their fans have never been more vocal about what they wanted, and to see Bioware ignore that is just sad.
