It seems that the we are beyond BioWare's comprehension. They did not understand one freaking thing from all our effort to tell them that the ending sucks, no matter how much they extend it and try to clarify it. The donation to C'sP, the cupcakes, the great, constructive walls of texts detailing the numerous game-ruining plotholes and possible ways of retcon, the Indoctrination Theory... all for noth... this. Extended Cut with more cutscenes.

Congratulations, BioWare!

^ THIS! All for nothing.

Yep, uninstalling ME3 right now. It's over.

YES!!!!!!! LEAVE THIS PLACE AND NEVER COME BACK

I totally called it. Just didn't happen at Pax like I suspected.

Still doesn't really solve the problem of how I personally feel about the ending and what made it falter (something many seem to agree upon), but I will at least take this is a gesture of good will and a somewhat of a promise that they won't botch it like they've been in their future products.

And sooo it begins, the end of all this.

Crap, it just shows that they aren't changing anything... they are just going to try and defend their ending by adding some more stupid cut scenes to try and make sense of the plot-hole ridden, decision limited ending they already wasted their time on!Agh if we are just forced again into 3 endings where Shepard and many of his friends still die, but we get to see them die this time, then the ending will be just as bad as it stands!!!

/rage

PS -  Trust them to shove in how many critics have given them a nice score because they ignored the ending...

Why announce this now instead of tomorrow at PAX?

That should be obvious. They don't want PAX to be dominated by endings talk.

Perhaps but the time between this is very short so if that was the intention i
think it will make little to no difference.

This is the end of line for me and Bioware either way, because this won't cut it for me. But Bioware faithful, you got their attention, and this should result in more thoughtfull communication on their part in the future.

If you have to explain an ending to a story that has spanned 200 + hours of play time then you have missed the mark on your ending of the story, clarifying your bizarre attempt at this obscure ending is justifying your failure

You did not have to explain ME1 / ME2 or your other titles did you?

The ending is a complete 360 from the story that was delivered to your customer base from out of now are and lacks a coherent tie into the rest of the story; all the explaining in the world can’t change the Round Peg you put into the Square Hole, the endings don’t fit what you had built up to in the past 2 games.

Trash the end make one that fits and release that this summer.

Frankly, I just don't believe anything they say, even if it is an official press release. At the very least you can say BioWare is not above conjecture, if not outright lies.

This sounds EXACTLY like a little slideshow a la Fallout 3.

If all we get are cutscenes and no gameplay, dialogue, more choices, it doesn't matter. I'm still done with Bioware.

Hm, I get the feeling heads will roll. I'm not entirely sure how a couple of extra scenes will help the matter.

I heard that they're bringing in Buzz Aldrin to tell a couple more stories to his grandkid and calling it clarity.

Holy crap it's free.
FREE.
I'm starting to believe these doomsday theories. I was so ready to have to shell out extra cash.

It is a beginning but frankly I don't need clarification, the fuhrer kid is abundently clear. I want the offensive ending gone.

Clarity and closure. Still doesn't fix the lack of choice, but hell I'll take this as a victory. Now Mass Effect 3 might not have one of the worst endings ever...

Probably will still suck though. At least it's free! :)

Pretty much.

Well, let's see, they might do an exellenct job with it and surprise us!

I hope it doesn't mean that Shepard dies a lonely, confused death no matter what though. Image IPB

Or that they just explicitly kill all squadmates on screen, for closure Image IPB

And, it's free! I really wasn't expecting that!

There now, see. EA isn't quite the evil overlords people like to make them out to be.

Obviously we don't know what is in the extended cut. It may still not be satisfying but they aren't charging you for the end of the game DLC as some had feared.

I said I'd give BioWare one more chance. Here is their chance. Very surprised that it is free, however.

Don't let us down.
