I'd much rather have a reduced version than an extended version. Just cut from the scene with Anderson's death to the red explosion and the reapers (not the relays) being destroyed then roll credits.

I agree.  Its going to be a lot harder to head canon a decent ending when they really show you what they wanted to happen in the ME universe.  Big explosions, wiped out species and what not.

Are you using the indoctrination theory to fix the awful ending

are you allowing us the chance to not blow the mass relays up

are you getting rid of the awful godchild

Is harbringer actual going to have some dialogue since he was mute throughout ME3

Are you going to give us a chance to choose whether sheppard dies or lives

if the answer is no, then go back and rethink your answer bioware. Know that I don't want an exteneded cut of the current ending. I want new endings that live up to the mass effect series and offer me different results based on my actions, not different coloured explosions. Screw this up and I will not buy any more games from you or EA and will recommend the same to my friends etc

Alright thats it, they are giving us a FREE dlc that will extrapolate on the endings and you guys are STILL whining? That's it, all the talk of the retake movement being entitled brats is completely true at this point! You guys are just whining for the sake of whining. Go be miserable elsewhere, I am sick and tired of listening to your constant disgust with everything that isn't perfect in your screwed up minds.

^^^ This.

They are making a free DLC and the fans are still crying out....

They are beginning to sound more like birthers and 911 truthers now. when provided with evidence, they still want more..

to bioWare, thank you for doing this much. Thank you for listening to the RATIONAL fans who provided constructive criticsms to the endings provided, and are working on providing something that will help bring a little closure.

Personally, I'm satisfied with the game as is, and look forward to DLC that contains extra missions or new weapons and maybe teammates that I can bring along on subsequent playthroughs. But this little extra DLC is something to look forward to during the summer.

Did you read the article? We are getting a 'clarification' which the vast majority were against, and have said since the word was first used that it wouldn't cut it. We are not getting changes to the ending, or an extra colour to choose from, so the worst aspects of the ending are not being addressed. Hence, most anti-enders are still not happy. Why would they be happy if they've said 'We don't like eating a turd.' only for Bioware to say 'Well, what if we put some sprinkles on the turd?'. It's not childish to say that it's still a turd, and we still don't want it. We've said what we want, provided reasons why we're not happy, and Bioware has decided to ignore us, which is their prerogative as a business. I'm going to download the 'elaboration', and see what it does, but I'm not optimistic, and certainly won't be buying any DLC in the meantime, which is MY prerogative as a consumer.

What angers me even more is that they said they were listening to us and were taking suggestions. Now that they've completely ignored us it all just seems like a huge troll move on their part. They should have put their foot down from the start rather than put everyone through all of this speculation and false hope.

As long as the fleet isn't stuck in the sol system and the Normandy isn't stranded on a stupid planet I'm fine with with this.

Do you realize bioware that by creating an ending like that you have essentially destroyed what would have been the new starwars of this generation, the new entertainment that we based all of our fondest memories on.

This makes me sad:unsure:
Mass Effect transcended just being a video game. Shepard is one of my favorite fictional characters, but the trilogy's legacy will not be what I once hoped it would be. I don't think "clarification" dlc can change that. I guess we'll see this summer...

Bravo Bioware for not letting fear compromise who they are. Better to thin the herd and make some losses in the short term than to be constantly fearful about when the hardcore fanbase is going to blow up yet again.

Your face when you realise they chose this path because it was the cheapest option with the most potential for future revenue?

Continue to defend your "artistic integrity" and lose fans in the process. I will be one of the many lost over this. Goodbye Bioware.

The answer is no. The article states nothing about the ending will be changed, just explained a bit more. You know, because we're too stupid to understand all the plot iussues we have, obviously. Gosh, why are all Bioware's fans so *stupid*?

This is not the time to give up yet. While I'm grateful for BioWare for releasing a DLC for free, the problem with a non-comprehensive ending, which ruins hundreds of hours of gameplay, is still there. Show BioWare your discontent. We can still make it right.

I really really hope this is a delayed april fools joke. Because they can't seriously believe that the ending can be saved with some BS cutscene.

They did not compramise out of fear.  This is a business and they use statistics.  The group of people that did not like the ending are in a majority, or at the very least a very large minority.  They saw that as a business it is better to give the people that did not like the ending a CHOICE to download an extended version would help them in the long run, since those that like the ending as is can CHOOSE not to download the free DLC.

The retakers, or at least a large portion of them wanted a new ending. Bioware knew that and decided not to compromise their artistic vision. I sure that they are hopeful they can turn some of the fans around with the new content though. With some tweaks and new additions, a lot of problems regarding the original ending can be solved.

Hello we would like to further explain why Shepard was abandoned by his/her friends and why she will never see them again. Also why genocide, forced homogenization, and enslavement is the solution to the cycle of war! You see if you say something is art, no one is allowed to call you a bigot.

Back to Bethesda with me!

Goodbye Bioware. It was fun while you were competent.
