I really really hope this is a delayed april fools joke. Because they can't seriously believe that the ending can be saved with some BS cutscene.
you do realize shepard cant be brought back right?
we all wanted answers regarding the normandy and we are getting it so i dont see why anyone should complain at all expecially when its free of all things

Adios Bioware
It has been a good ride, but rolling the car at the end is kind of a deal breaker.

I'll 'play' this DLC. After that it's bye bye Bioware.
So....what's the most anticipated RPG game coming out this year? Already looking forward to it. Anybody?

The things that upsets me the most, is that ME3 could have been such an epic game, it still was until the ending, but imagine if it had an amazing ending to go with it. It would have been talked about and praised for who knows how long into the future. So it just breaks my heart that something that could have been absolutely amazing is going to be remembered by how it fell short and by the strong reaction people had to the ending.
I know they are too proud to do much more than just clarify their ending at this point, but I wonder if they are wishing they could go back in time and make a truly epic ending that would be fitting to such an amazing game.

Ah yes. "Clarity and closure." We have dismissed this claim.
LOL, you just got slapped in the face and you feel better? Sadism is running rampant on this site.....Sublyminal wrote...
Bravo EA if true my faith has been restored. The movement worked guys we can pat ourselves on the back.
This "Extended Cut" idea makes me sick. All this is going to be is Bioware explaining to us why they destroyed all of our choices from Mass Effect 1 and 2.
Its not like these cut scenes are going to suddenly have tie ins to the first two games, and anyone who is relieved by this announcement is just fooling themselves back into Bioware fanboyism.

so the plot holes, the breaking of established canon and general wtf of the endings remain? cant wait to see the scene where the normandy swoops down to rescue just your squad before boogying out of the solar system and leaving you for dead. Im done. i wont try and get a refund but thats cause i feel i played it through once so it wouldnt be right to get my money back. but its the last penny bioware will ever get from me.
they go on and on about artistic integrity. Im sorry that went out the window when they slapped a "buy moar dlc" sticker on the end of the credits.
Stick your 'clarifications' where you stuck your promises for an epic conclusion shaped by the decisions of all 3 games. You lied to fans in the lead up to release, you stonewalled us since release. Now your going to 'clarify' the plot holes and try to justify why the ending is 'artistic' and not some steaming pile of excrement.

What a disappointment. Such a waste. DLC won't even have gameplay or any type of interaction. Hopefully there will be new voice acting of your crew. That's the least they should do.

Witcher 2 comes out on the 17th. But after that not sure. : (

Honestly I take this right here as Shepard isn't dead and they are lining it up for a sequel with him in it just not as the main character.IsaacShep wrote...

Remember that sick, horrible feeling we all had upon finishing the game? I just felt it ALL over again. Thanks for that Bioware/EA.
I just accepted that Casey Hudson & company are now in the Peter Molyneux category. My money will no longer be spent on their new games.

Personally, I've had my fill of BioWare and Mass Effect through this whole mess, but I'm going to wait for PAX and see if we can't get a few more details about this "extended cut".
You never know what they might add to the ending. I have a sneaking suspicion it could be nothing good at all, but there *IS* a chance that StarChild gets retconned into being a Reaper trap while keeping the endings relatively the same. Who knows?
I began swearing off MASS EFFECT as soon as I beat the game. Cancelled pre-orders for a few items, cancelled plans to buy a groovy N7 hoodie from the store and get all the books ... there's just no point in it anymore if BioWare legitimately believed StarChild to be a good ending to their franchise.
But, I'm interested in this DLC. It's free, that's totally cool. I'm willing to see what happens with it, and in the meantime I'll still enjoy the multiplayer (without spending anymore money on it).
If this extended cut is just a bunch of crap then no harm, no foul. I'll already have moved on by then. But maybe they'll get it right. Who knows.

- Your core fans are not content with explaining why the star child is a valid idea
- You still are telling everyone the radical shift in narravie in the last 5 minutes was valid, but still, nobody is buying it.
- This minor addition (referred to many as shining a turd) is not going to change the direction of the insanely bad word of mouth ME3 now has
- Sales are still going to plummet.
You can fix this by taking the next step. You need a game changer. The answer is clear - fix the ending by returning to your most awesome narrative. Remove the star child and bring what would be a relatively straightforward ending home.
I believe this would be your only chance of not becoming a running joke in the gameing industry.

I understand they wanted to get to a Citadel-free, Mass-Relay-free universe after the events of ME3, but how they chose to get there was really, really sloppy and hackneyed, and that's not the fans' fault.
Unless they do something pretty drastic, I don't really think there's gonna be much improvement. The game's ending would literally be improved by just fading to black after Anderson said "You did good, son." Extending and explaining glowing blue space Hitler is not really going to improve anything when his existence is most of the problem.

I'd much rather have a reduced version than an extended version. Just cut from the scene with Anderson's death to the red explosion and the reapers (not the relays) being destroyed then roll credits.
I agree. Its going to be a lot harder to head canon a decent ending when they really show you what they wanted to happen in the ME universe. Big explosions, wiped out species and what not.
Mmhmm, for clarification to make any sense they'll have to keep everything pretty bleak. I don't see how they can leave us with more satisfying prospects for the future of the galaxy whilst still making any sense.
So it's either more detailed depression or even more nonsensical happiness. Huzzah.
