Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series added,
“We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player.”

The underlined parts worry and chuckle somewhat.

EVEN MORE context and clarity? More than what? The current ending?

I'm sure that's not hard to do, but if they're willing to describe the current ending as having context and clarity, than they're not exactly setting the bar very high for themselves.

Also, the continued "artistic defence" makes my hair stand on end.

All and all, I'll wait for it, but I'm satisfied. Be sure to keep the line however. This makes me think they're only just now concidering it. Here's the time for our input.

I'll just keep waiting but my hope has gone far away, the ending sucks, yeah we all know that, just a bit more clarity... THANKS! (sarcastic mode on) bad ending with more clarity .... black holes every where on the ending.... I expect the cut scenes are really good to explain that but I doubt it so much

Remember that sick, horrible feeling we all had upon finishing the game? I just felt it ALL over again. Thanks for that Bioware/EA.

What a disappointment. Such a waste. DLC won't even have gameplay or any type of interaction. Hopefully there will be new voice acting of your crew. That's the least they should do.
I'll 'play' this DLC. After that it's bye bye Bioware.

So....what's the most anticipated RPG game coming out this year? Already looking forward to it. Anybody?

Trade in Mass Effect 3, get Witcher 2 Enchanced Edition, they fixed the ending for free and the xbox version is coming in a month. Also they actually care about their fans, and don't treat them like ****.

All I have to say is: well played EA and BW.

You did the one thing that will make the retake movement seem like whiners and entitled gamers without admitting you were wrong.

If this is the business maneuvering I can expect for the future, you can do it without me. I will enjoy ME3 in the mean time since I already bought it, but I will probably be hesitant to buy paid DLC or other BW games in the future.

Thank you Bioware, I liked the ending and I can only appreciate that there will be more scenes about it.

You understand it tell me did we really win since every organic race will either die out or is already dead now

No organic life didn't die (if you had EMS 1800+, crucible didn't doom every planet like Earth). Organics will now build another network of mass relays. It will take some time, but with Reaper tech advanced FTL it will take much less time. Anyway - time is now irrelevant. What only matters is that organic life will be no more harvested. That was the only mission since ME1. Our mission wasn't to make sure that 7 friends will be happy.

Witcher 2 comes out on the 17th. But after that not sure. : (

Already played it on PC quite some time ago. Really a great game I recommend to every RPG lover.

Oh dang. Well I'm tapped out then unless you are willing to play Jrpgs.

I was just thinking that very same thing.

I actually laughed hysterically in my frustration because deep down I knew this was what they would do if they did anything.

All I wanted was to see my decisions actually mean something...and now we get instead of: ending A, B, C - this: A+, B+, C+.

Bioware...you lost me and a lot of other people today. That was the last time you saw money from me.

I don't want more ****ing cinematics, I want an ending where Shepard doesn't give up and take one of three choices the leader of the enemy gives him.

WHY does Shepard trust the Catalyst?

I really want to know what you guys were thinking giving Starbrat 14 lines and not allowing us to argue his rhetoric. I mean, fair play if you can salvage this.I would be perfectly happy with any kind of DLC (free or not) which makes sense out of the endings and won't make us SciFi nerds look like giant tools. As for artistic vision card, this one is starting to irk me. If you have a vision, can't you just give us the reasoning behind the last ten minutes? A simple we were trying to do this but it didn't turn out so well would be more then enough for me. If the vision is related to the movie or ME4 being in pre-production then I will LOL hard.

Thank you for listening.I really want to love Mass Effect again.

When this is released, I will guage this esteemed forum's general opinion of it. If it is generally positive, then maybe i'll get it.

However, I'm almost certain that most of the people who hated the endings will hate this as much or more.

I really really hope this is a delayed april fools joke. Because they can't seriously believe that the ending can be saved with some BS cutscene.

you do realize shepard cant be brought back right?

we all wanted answers regarding the normandy and we are getting it so i dont see why anyone should complain at all expecially when its free of all things

If someone offered you a pint of ice cream with dog crap in it would you take it because it was free? Then they decide to make it only 25% dog crap. Guess what it will still taste like dog crap. We do not want answers explaining the current ending. There can be no explanation of the ending and the Ghost Child insanse ciruclar logic. It is ridiculous circular logic that wipes out the themes and decisions of the whole series.

Why can't shepard be brought back?! Explain this?!

An ending designed to destroy (probably) indoctrination theory.
This will not create more problems.
Explaining why on Earth did Joker and crew escape during battle will be hilarious.
I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm still in depression stage of Kubler-Ross model, and don't want to slip to anger again.

Bravo Bioware for not letting fear compromise who they are. Better to thin the herd and make some losses in the short term than to be constantly fearful about when the hardcore fanbase is going to blow up yet again.

Going to be hard to make more 'art' in their games when they have no money to pay for anything.

I posted angrily in the other thread this morning, I've had time to cool off. I will still not buy any further Mass Effect games, but I accept that the Dragon Age dev team is a different team, and will not be abandoning Bioware completely. While this isn't satisfactory to me as an ending fix, Bioware did do something, however minor, and the rest of the blame lies on the Dev team that put it together.

In summary:

I'm done with Mass Effect. I will buy the next Dragon Age if I hear it's good, but I will not be pre-ordering it. I will still buy Bioware games but I will not pre-order any. Still selling my Mass Effect games.

Is this new ending DLC coming out before or after the originally planned DLC? Bioware kept saying stuff like "hold on to your saves, if only you knew what we have in store!".

Wow, I am really shocked that Bioware/EA would let this feral cat out of the bag BEFORE their presentation at PAX. They've got some quads to take that kind of risk. Considering the spittle-flecked raging going on the forums already, I'd truly HATE to be at that panel if I was an attending Bioware staff member.

I don't understand why people are still so unhappy. No one knows what the epilogue will be and what content will be added so how can you be so sure that this isn't what you have been asking for? This is a big win for the fans! Why be so quick to hate on it?

I personally was satisfied with the original ending but am looking forward to the epilogue content - plus it's free! I'm glad that they aren't compromising the story they wrote to appease a segment of their fanbase (majority or minority - it doesn't matter at all). Hopefully they'll be able to flesh things out better so that most can get the closure they wanted.

If you want the Disney ending then maybe you should play games that are rated E.

I could care less if they release or not a new ending at this point, but to tell me stupid because I don't understand their artistic vision...?

So here we have it. IT is not what they are doing, no dream sequence, no post-ending DLC other than epilogues and cut scenes... And it looks certainly like Shepard will never be reunited with squad/mass relays still blown up....

I can't complain too much, because it's free.... But this is really disappointing.

Back to waiting for HL3 I guess... Too bad to see a great trilogy end so poorly.
