This is what I want to hear about

http://pastebin.com/ifPPbeTp

if it's fake fine, big huge tease, but if it's real it better be explained to us.
Also this free DLC ok it's free great, but not what we wanted...just stop tyring to maintain your artistic integrity and stopt he excuses and really jsut flat out sya why you won't change the ending.

I guess I mistaken what the Retake movement was always about. I just wanted some damn clarity and some answers. You're telling me you guys actually wanted a whole new ending? That would never happen lol.

Yeah, sorry, the problem here is not with the fans, it's with Bioware. The ending as written is really bad, as nearly any professional writer will tell you. You don't pull a magic dude out of nowhere in the last five minutes with no foreshadow. It's called a deus ex machina. Moreover, the final choice of the game is precisely the same one offered to players of Deus Ex. So it's not even original.

I understand they wanted to get to a Citadel-free, Mass-Relay-free universe after the events of ME3, but how they chose to get there was really, really sloppy and hackneyed, and that's not the fans' fault.

Unless they do something pretty drastic, I don't really think there's gonna be much improvement. The game's ending would literally be improved by just fading to black after Anderson said "You did good, son." Extending and explaining glowing blue space Hitler is not really going to improve anything when his existence is most of the problem.

Personally I could take an ending with the stupid starchild if they hadn't torched the mass relays, and made you pull the trigger.  That event just kills the franchise, and no amount of prequels will sell when that inevitable grimdark ending hovers over everything you try to do.

I don't need clarity. The ending wasn't unclear, it was nonsensical. This is unacceptable.

Artistic integrity is a really lame excuse... there is nothing artistic about that ending. It's completely out of left field. It's like adding a UFO to the Mona Lisa.

Is this new ending DLC coming out before or after the originally planned DLC? Bioware kept saying stuff like "hold on to your saves, if only you knew what we have in store!".

Yeah, keep your saves! You get a few additional cutscenes with space casper!

Sorry for the frustration, but that's just extremely disappointing.

It would have been far less work if they cut at the Anderson death, and then show the beam going out -the relay boom, normady scene and star gazer.

What a disappointment. Such a waste. DLC won't even have gameplay or any type of interaction. Hopefully there will be new voice acting of your crew. That's the least they should do.
I'll 'play' this DLC. After that it's bye bye Bioware.

So....what's the most anticipated RPG game coming out this year? Already looking forward to it. Anybody?

Witcher 2 comes out on the 17th. But after that not sure. : (

Already played it on PC quite some time ago. Really a great game I recommend to every RPG lover.

Enhanced Edition on the 17th though for free for previous owners, hours of extra game play to address player feedback.

For all the talk of listening, it seem rather hostile and defensive to me, and .... well, not really listening.

Sure be proud, consider everything art - but remember its a product made in large quantities sold to customers on a mainstream market.  It's not the Mona Lisa. It's not the Sistine Chapel. It's a product, sold to consumers.

I'm disillusioned more and more by Biowares PR spin and apparent diminishing of their non-advertisement funded reviews, and I'll wait and see what they deliver come summer but I'm not holding much hope for actual clarifications and removal of plotholes and teleporting crew members.
And as for buying new things from Bioware .... that's on hold as well. Until I see what type of 'art' they will make next.

Really, all I want is an encyclopaedia, or even just a codex entry, that tells me what happened to the various races over the course of the war.

I can't help but wonder things like 'Did those Elcor I rescued go to the Citadel? Are they all dead now?'. A simple list of known inhabited worlds, and their status at war's end would do.

The loss of the mass relays doesn't concern me; I already know that discharging static in space is possible (google 'plasma contactor unit'), so regular FTL travel wouldn't necessarily remain as limited as it has been portrayed in the series. I just want to know who is still around to use it (outside of Sol I mean).

"We choose to listen to fan feedback (if it's positive) and then we choose to completely ignore it"

Great PR move. From now on anything, we heartbroken, cheated, disappointed former-fans of yours can do will be seen as whining.

Farewell, BioWare

Well I'll download the DLC when it comes out and make my judgement on that but until then ME gets dusty on the shelf.

Same here, except for the second part.

I've been passing my copy around to my friends so they can try it out and see the endings for themselves. Then we have a few laughs about it at our D&D games.

I agree with what Paul Tassi of Forbes, who said this is a win for us, lets see what happen with this DLC and see what happens to it in the end. If it is still crappy as usual, then its over and Bioware is dead to me. If somehow (that's a BIG somehow) they can turn it into a decent ending, then all props to them...but for now, we as the Retake movement NEED to see what Bioware brings out. Rememeber, now Patience is a virtue, we forced EA/Bioware to make a move that they do not want in teh first place (free DLC), now lets see what they give us in the end.

Your artistic vision for the end of this arc is awful. It renders the journey meaningless. Clarifying does not help.

"...The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game."

Then you have failed. Utterly and completely.

What a horrible thought.  You have to know that the vast majority of developers know what a pile of trash ending was tacked on to this.  These folk poured their souls into making a terrific game, but were forced into producing a trainwreck last 5 minutes.

More to the point, if Bioware goes under, we should all be feeling intense sadness.  They've produced some of the bet RPG titles out.  ME1 is still one of the best games ever, as is ME2 and most of ME3. DA Origins is great, as is Baldur's Gate.  That we only will have Bethesda left for good RPGs will definitely be sad.

But really, that's where we are.  I don't see buying DA:3, but I'm certainly not happy about it.  Nor do I want these most awesome developers and writers (I'm sure most of the writers had stomach cramps having to put up with the ending) to lose their job.

And then? Some of the People working for Bioware will continue working for EA, the others will start working for other Studios, maybe even start up new ones. And we will have Bioware2 without EA telling them what to do Image IPB
sounds good to me.

That would be bEAware :wizard:

If that's really the ending, they need to remove the "Experience Required" pieces from their job applications.
