Bethesda and Broken Steel prove otherwise. They could have manned up, admitted the enormity of their mistake, and corrected it with an Ending that flowed from the choices we made across three games.InglouriousBosh-Tets wrote...
In all honesty, this is all we can ask of BioWare at this point. Granted, not everyone is necessarily okay with an extended ending, but the devs can only do so much. The way I see it they could have completely ignored fans and stuck to the original ending, but they're showing that they still care about our input enough to acknowledge it.
Have a little faith that BioWare won't drop the ball on us again. They're taking a huge step towards making nice with the fans with this DLC, I think they've earned a reservation of judgement.

This sums up my feelings after reading this announcement.
This.
If BioWare doesn't rewrite the ending then I will NOT be buying any more games. It SICKENS me that I spent hundreds of dollars on the CE and a Kinect over BW's FALSE advertising. NO. MORE.

Clarity does not alter the fact that the Starchild uses spacemagic and makes Shepard accept it's words, despite it's words being false, and shown to be false throughout the rest of the game. Clarity does not change the fact that the 'Artistic Vision' for the ending amounted to 'Shepard dosn't care that the creature responsible for the Reapers and a mountain of dead so high just in this cycle that it would dwarf everest is now trying to appear as a innocent child'
The Starchild is disgusting, that Shepard and thus the player is forced to meekly go along with this most evil of beings in any Game Franchise ever is sickening. That the player is forced to meekly accept it's terms as fair and just is foul. That Bioware defends this as Artistic vision is that they defend the actions of the starchild, and frankly it... *sigh*
Yeah this is not exactly good news.

So they are just going to throw some BS explanation together showing how rebuilding the mass relays is possible? And how no one starves to death?

Yeah, about as possible as a janitor at McDonalds winning the presidential election.
IDK I did **** Liara before the final mission.......
I'm sure the new cinematics will show her broodmother status on the garden planet. For all the males on the crew.
IDK Shepard was alive at the end of the destroy ending. There is hope for my video game romance yet!

Cinematics do nothing. To fix the game you need to resolve the Normandy crash debacle and what happens to Shepard if he picks the Destroy ending. I don't need more clarity about why the Normandy crashed, I need closure, a resolution to the god damn plot.
I want my damn team and LI with me at the end.

On YOUR ending does not mean, that it will be THEIR ending...

Done with you. You've lost a customer you've had since the Baldur's Gate days. Though apparently you don't give a good God damn anyway, since this is what you're doing.
Failing at the ending and making it confusing due to lack of narrative structure isn't 'artistic', it's just failure. Compound that with the failure of refusing to admit that you've done anything wrong and it's enough to demonstrate that you're no longer the company that cares about what its fans think. You just care about defending yourselves even if you've made mistakes, and making money. It's all about the bottom line apparently and I refuse to give any more money to a company that behaves in that fashion.

Oh, Bioware. You just can't help yourselves, can you? Still being needlessly passive aggressive ("our most passionate fans"; "we stand behind our artistic vision"), still insinuating that those of us unhappy with your ending are just too stupid to understand it ("to provide further clarity and closure"), and still completely missing the point while blaming us for your failure to deliver.
I've said this endlessly since the game dropped, and I'll continue to say it:
No amount of clarity alone will fix this.
None.
No amount of clarity alone will fix the fact that your ending, as it stands, is thematically and tonally divorced from the rest of the series.
No amount of clarity alone will fix that nothing Shepard does in the preceding three games matters at all.
No amount of clarity alone willl fix that Shepard just gladly goes along with ideas that s/he has demonstratively proven false.
Further, you do not get to claim "artistic integrity" and insinuate that it exempts your work from criticism. That's not how this works. If you had made this game solely for yourselves, sure. Stick by your guns. But you didn't. You made it for mass consumption and with the claim that it was made in "collaboration with the fans". That changes the rules. Extensively. (More on that in this lovely article: doycetesterman.com/index.php/2012/03/mass-effect-tolkein-and-your-bullshit-artistic-process/)
So, with all due respect, Bioware? Shove it.
This man gets it. Hope more people see this. Shame Bioware definitely won't. Hell, the "explanation" will probably be narrated by Chobot because it's "artistic."

Seriously its become tready and cool to hate on this game.
I loved the game and i disliked the ending mostly because once u go up to catalyst the game ended way to fast!
It says extended cenematics and epilogue during the ending sequence. To me the endings sequence would mean from when u arrive one earth.
Most people cant agree what kinda ending they want anyways it always just boils down to "it would still be better then current ending".
Give the extended cut a chance to fill the plot holes and add scenes to explain stuff.

Ok tweet confirmed. I don't know what to think about it:
Aw **** this ****.
This goes completely against the FAQ which states no new endings. Unless they don't consider as expansion of the Shepard breath scene new, this just makes no sense.
Oh I see what they did there! A LOST ending! Minus the hatch.
