Here's to Bethesda and CDProjecket. The last devs to put out quality RP games that still have story and not just eye candy.
The story in Fallout 3: Dad runs away. Find guy who knows a guy who knows where your dad went. Find said dad. Almost make clean water. Eeeeevil facists appear, stopping you from making clean water. Fight the eeeeeevil facists, so that water may be clean again. Succeed!
And let's not forget those memorable characters folks! Good old Star Paladin Cross. From her I learned so much, and gleaned so much from her mysterious past. Remember when she spoke about foul winds and tarrying? Ah, Shakespeare.
Yeah. I might have really enjoy Bethesda games, but it sure isn't for the story. Fallout NV on the other hand <3
Vaguely relevant point:
Expanded cutscenes could potentially feel really rushed and crap, but if this isn't coming until summer I'm slightly more encouraged, because that might suggest they're allowing time to record new voice-actor sessions as well.

But I thought she wasn't involved in the process? More like a spokesperson who only gets told what they need to know.

For all that we've picked apart the PR double speak on this forum, it surprises me that nobody's actually tried dissecting the words 'clarity and closure.' Nobody can come out and say "our ending was bad" or even "out fans think the ending was bad." Anyone who says that will end up crucified. They're trying to fix the problem without actually admitting that there was a problem.
So, yeah, I think this olive branch of theirs might (might) be genuine. Going to try and keep an open mind.
This is my biggest hope at the moment. Still not that big, but I'll take what I can get.
Same here. The sentences I put in bold are especially important. That may be what a lot of people want to hear, but we still live in a world where admitting you were wrong is often taken as a sign of "weakness". I know clarification isn't exactly what some people want, but the Forbes guy is right. This can either be read as a "loss" and people can get angry, which feeds into the "whiny, entitled" image that we've been painted with, OR we can look at this as a "win" and wait until the DLC is released. See what it is. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. Maybe not. At this point, though, Bioware is doing something. That's more than I expected, and I, for one, am seeing this as a "win".
For the writers, too, even if not all of them agree with it.

Its ok mouth breathers you can stop hating agleast untill they release this dlc.
Seriously its become tready and cool to hate on this game.
I loved the game and i disliked the ending mostly because once u go up to catalyst the game ended way to fast!
It says extended cenematics and epilogue during the ending sequence. To me the endings sequence would mean from when u arrive one earth.
Most people cant agree what kinda ending they want anyways it always just boils down to "it would still be better then current ending".
Give the extended cut a chance to fill the plot holes and add scenes to explain stuff.
Reported.

Oh, Bioware. You just can't help yourselves, can you? Still being needlessly passive aggressive ("our most passionate fans"; "we stand behind our artistic vision"), still insinuating that those of us unhappy with your ending are just too stupid to understand it ("to provide further clarity and closure"), and still completely missing the point while blaming us for your failure to deliver.
I've said this endlessly since the game dropped, and I'll continue to say it:
No amount of clarity alone will fix this.
None.
No amount of clarity alone will fix the fact that your ending, as it stands, is thematically and tonally divorced from the rest of the series.
No amount of clarity alone will fix that nothing Shepard does in the preceding three games matters at all.
No amount of clarity alone willl fix that Shepard just gladly goes along with ideas that s/he has demonstratively proven false.
Further, you do not get to claim "artistic integrity" and insinuate that it exempts your work from criticism. That's not how this works. If you had made this game solely for yourselves, sure. Stick by your guns. But you didn't. You made it for mass consumption and with the claim that it was made in "collaboration with the fans". That changes the rules. Extensively. (More on that in this lovely article: doycetesterman.com/index.php/2012/03/mass-effect-tolkein-and-your-bullshit-artistic-process/)
So, with all due respect, Bioware? Shove it.
Well said! Hear hear!

I'm pretty sure she actually works with the team at their offices to some degree.

Not really what I was expecting. No gameplay "suicide mission style" part, no new endings, stuck with those 3 colors.
Bah, I wasn't hoping something like that anyway, they always said they didn't want to add new endings, but only a closure of those flawed endings.
Who knows? Maybe will they do a good work with this closure, maybe it will give us what we want, maybe this only closure will make the epic ending of this epic saga I always wanted? Maybe will they not fail twice in a row?
And it's free of charge, so I at least support this gesture.
Looking forward to it.

I agree.
I am skeptical, but hopeful. If only because of this:

Not gonna lie, we do appreciate the effort. Still kind of worried that
Meer/Hale have said they weren't contacted for VA yet...
If the extended epilogue was silent, I would be much more disappointed than I am. Until I see what they put together, I am still allowed to be disappointed.
Thank you everyone who brought enough attention to the ending to coerce Bioware into at least this. I hope if they concede to anything else, it's related to the whole FemShep/Thane debacle.

i doubt the clarification dlc ending will be better than this fan comic on the ending
and it's also free, don't have to wait until summer to see how it ends
