Wait how would J. Merizan POSSIBLY know anything about this?

...she's employed at Bioware.

But I thought she wasn't involved in the process? More like a spokesperson who only gets told what they need to know.

The funny thing about spokespeople is that they SPEAK ON BEHALF OF PEOPLE.

You know what. I'm done with Bioware we told them NOT to do a clarify/extended cut thing now look what they did. Well whatever no sense continuing the fight I'm not going to play or purchase a single Bioware game ever again if this is how they treat their fans when are they gonna figure out their fans who have stuck with them from the beginning don't care about " artistic integrity. "

Well, reserving judgement until I get it. I'm glad they listened and are doing something about it, but we'll see what happens

Technically Shepard reunited with the squad is possible with current destroy ending. Dont fall for the PR speak.

Whoa it would be great to see some clarification of this. God damn it Bioware. Make a more substantive announcement.

They probably won't make a more substantive announcement to avoid spoilers and to avoid making even more promises that they ultimately (for whatever reason) won't be able to deliver on.

Aw **** this ****.

This goes completely against the FAQ which states no new endings. Unless they don't consider as expansion of the Shepard breath scene new, this just makes no sense.

Oh I see what they did there! A LOST ending! Minus the hatch.

Wait what? That's completely against what the FAQ said.

If Shep can be reunited with crew... I'd kind of consider that a "new ending"... not just clarification.

Hope not completely lost... for now.

It could that only the Destroy ending has Shep meet back up with crew... She also mentioned the possible rebuilding of relays, while I think it would be impossible to do in the Destroy ending so it will probably happen in Controlling and Synthesis endings with a dead Shepard.

Here's to Bethesda and CDProjecket. The last devs to put out quality RP games that still have story and not just eye candy.

The story in Fallout 3: Dad runs away. Find guy who knows a guy who knows where your dad went. Find said dad. Almost make clean water. Eeeeevil facists appear, stopping you from making clean water. Fight the eeeeeevil facists, so that water may be clean again. Succeed! :o ... but die , or Sabotage the clean water, because you are eeeeevil . OR ask your radioactive-proof buddy to do it, so that you can both succeed and not die :wizard:...except he says no :(. Why? Because 'It's your destiny' <_<

And let's not forget those memorable characters folks! Good old Star Paladin Cross. From her I learned so much, and gleaned so much from her mysterious past. Remember when she spoke about foul winds and tarrying? Ah, Shakespeare.

Yeah. I might have really enjoy Bethesda games, but it sure isn't for the story. Fallout NV on the other hand <3

Vaguely relevant point:

Expanded cutscenes could potentially feel really rushed and crap, but if this isn't coming until summer I'm slightly more encouraged, because that might suggest they're allowing time to record new voice-actor sessions as well.

Don't you remember that good ol' Dragonborn who fought an army of clone dragon and finally killed a black dragon?... That was such a great story! Truly a master piece compare to Dragon Age Origin or Lord of the Ring. Lets face it Bethesda story and character suck at best. However the rest of the game is pretty good.

Only problem is...the crew is gone. They left. With the relays destroyed...

Aw god this all just hurts my brain.

That doesn't mean anything. She could just be referring to the Destroy ending in which Shepard might live, and not to actual cutscenes/whatever.

Edit: Damn ninjas and FTL forum.

Wow so they are going to make sense of the ending by slapping bandaides on it?

Don't try to act like it's the "fan's fault" you guys released one of the best games ever with the most stupid thoughtless endings possible. I really dislike this announcement.

Keeping my fingers crossed until Summer. I'll reserve judgement on the Extended Cut DLC until then.

If it's still bad, thanks for the memories, Bioware, and goodbye.

Yeah, Tirra's right. I don't play Bethesda's games for the story, but for the sandbox-style gameplay. I do love their games, but that's not why I play them. FO:NV had an awesome storyline, but the others? Not so much.

I mean, Skyrim's ending to its main quest is pathetic, lol.

I'm going to reserve judgement on this until it comes out, but the statement about their DLC priorities being altered shows that they are concerned about the impact the ending has on the potential sale of pre-ending DLC like the previous games have. If the ending is still unsatisfying to players then they are unlikely to pay for whatever content is inserted during the course of the game.

I think Bioware could honestly improve how they are viewed by being more candid with their disgruntled fanbase instead of the carefully prepared statements that have been fed out so far, especially when the fanbase typically spots (and indeed gets incensed by) PR speak fairly easily. It's also worth noting that being a bit more frank won't actually harm their reputation with the customers anyway, as relations are probably as frosty as they can possibly get right about now.

Clarity... What I'd like Bioware to clarify is why they are so in love with this ending and just where the hell it/starchild came from. No hiding behind artisitc integrity or 240,000,000 perfect scores. I'd quite liketo know the thought process behind starchild's sudden appearance (even as a very amateur writer - as in I do it for my own pleasure and my eyes only atm - I know how poor on a story telling scale it is to introduce something so huge at the eleventh hour unless there is an extremely good explanation for it.)

The statement doesn't give me much hope, but i can wait until the summer before deciding if I will be buying another Bioware game.

'possible'
She also said they were listening. Yeah, I listen all the time. It's also possible I will be the first man on mars.

Tweets feeding crap and getting paid for it. I love myself a job like that aswell.

Still better than the end of Mass Effect 3.
