So they are going to clarify the ending, does that mean that the people that don't like the ending are just to stupid to understand what they were trying to do? Thanks EA, you've done a wonderful job of getting me excited for Halo 4.
thanks for your contribution to this thread. great insights there.
After all that's gone the last two weeks that's the best I have left in me.
Really? I'm super excited now. This is great news!
Your going to have to explain how this is great news when the best everyone else I've talked to about can say is I'll give it a chance.
Because the worst part in my opinion of the ending wasn't necessarily the direction the team decided to go in (Starchild, which is admittedly not my favourite thing in the world) but the arbitrary removal of important information to understand the ending. They tried to artificially create mystery and it didn't work, and now with the extended cut they will finally fill in the blanks. They also said they're doing this in response to fan feedback which means our questions will be answered, and the epilogues will bring the closure and denoument that is sorely lacking in the original.

BW can honestly not write anything that is not phrased condescendingly to the fans recently. Unbelievable. Hopefully what they put together is worth more than their words.
You realized they striped this content from the discs aswell?

Nope, not gonna get caught with the ''hype'' again. Until I see the solid info, I am holding my wallet. And the way they said '' we are proud of the ending ! '' I doubt it will be ANY better...which will cause more frustration for me.
It's free....

Here's to Bethesda and CDProjecket. The last devs to put out quality RP games that still have story and not just eye candy.
The story in Fallout 3: Dad runs away. Find guy who knows a guy who knows where your dad went. Find said dad. Almost make clean water. Eeeeevil facists appear, stopping you from making clean water. Fight the eeeeeevil facists, so that water may be clean again. Succeed!... but die
, or Sabotage the clean water, because you are eeeeevil
. OR ask your radioactive-proof buddy to do it, so that you can both succeed and not die
...except he says no
. Why? Because 'It's your destiny' <_<
And let's not forget those memorable characters folks! Good old Star Paladin Cross. From her I learned so much, and gleaned so much from her mysterious past. Remember when she spoke about foul winds and tarrying? Ah, Shakespeare.
Yeah. I might have really enjoy Bethesda games, but it sure isn't for the story. Fallout NV on the other hand <3
Vaguely relevant point:
Expanded cutscenes could potentially feel really rushed and crap, but if this isn't coming until summer I'm slightly more encouraged, because that might suggest they're allowing time to record new voice-actor sessions as well.
Yeah, Tirra's right. I don't play Bethesda's games for the story, but for the sandbox-style gameplay. I do love their games, but that's not why I play them. FO:NV had an awesome storyline, but the others? Not so much.
I mean, Skyrim's ending to its main quest is pathetic, lol.
Still better than the end of Mass Effect 3.
Nope. At no point in Mass Effect 3 does a squadmate immune to red explosions make you go into a red explosion, because it's your destiny to go into a red explosion. Or if you buy the DLC, have Ron Pearlman call your character out for sending another to their death, even though they didn't die.
Let me repeat myself: Still better than the end of Mass Effect 3.
Story is meaningless in Bethesda games, story is most of what makes up a Bioware game, however.
Perhaps, but I was responding to someone who was saying the opposite.

For pity's sake people, have a little faith. We've made our complaints, Bioware is listening and now they're going to be working on brand new content that could take several months of work, while bringing back an unknown number of VA's to complete it and you guys are still complaining? Did you also read the part that says it's going to be free? That's a lot of effort and work to please their fans and to only get a slap in the face in return is shameful.
I for one will not give up hope that Bioware won't let us down, sure it seems like they were content with how the endings stacked up before, but with our voices we've let them know that an incomplete story isn't what we buy their products for and they're working to fix that error. Give them a chance.

Makes me wonder what EA/Bioware really sees through their "artistic vision" goggles.

It has to be free. If they released a DLC with cutscenes only and no gameplay; and also charged money for it? It would be ridiculous.
