Might look ok from distance. But when you get close it still stinks as hell and when you actually study it you'll notice it's made of CRAP.

I'm hoping previous cutscenes are edited and extended, such as the scene with Anderson dying along side Shepard. I'd love to see more dialogue there.

Another thing, that has me irritated. Is that, everybody has a goodbye for Shepard. Garrus, Liara, Tali even James, Javik and Cortez all have their final moment with Shepard. However, when I prompt Wrex for a chat, he just has some ambient dialogue, that Shepard hardly reacts to. I know it such a minor thing to complain about, but it has me frustrated!

Not what we had hoped, but the quality and content of this will ultimately determine whether or not I continue to support Bioware or even buy any of their products from now on. From what I can gather, I am not alone in this sentiment.

We shall see, Bioware. We shall see...

I would very much like to see how Tali gets to Rannoch with no Mass Relays.

Jessica hints that they are rebuilt.

Within a Quarian lifetime?

Seriously?

If Jessica is right on this...I might be satisfied. I really, really dislike the Starchild. But, if I can give him the finger by picking the Destroy option, have Shep survive, reunite with his LI and teammates,  (possibly court-martial Joker), and end in a time of rebuilding (Show the mass relays being built and transition to Shep and Tali building a house on Rannoch for example)...then I would be okay with that.

Poor Edi and all, but maybe she can be rebuilt too. (Cue the Six Million Dollar Man theme music)

Do you realize what we've done? Even if we're not getting a completely new ending, we managed to shake the foundation of a huge developer and an even larger corporation so hard that they actually responded and reacted accordingly. We weren't a majority, we were always a vocal minority, and this shows the power that the people can have. I'm extremely excited for this, and even if the ending doesn't wow me as much as I want it to, I will give BioWare extreme respect for listening.

Considering all the pre-release statements they made I'll take anything on twitter, facebook or wherever with all the salt I can find... I mean, it's not like they said we won't get an A, B, C ending or anything...

Okay, the Tweets are making me feel a lot better about the situation.
Coincidentally, today in my English Comp. class we discussed the use of Ethos by large corporations, and then in sociology we discussed finding the true ending to everything. It was very hard not to make bitterly sarcastic comments throughout the lectures.

Closure is good. We still have no idea what will be clarified though. Clarification is vague enough that it could literally be anything. They could, "clarify" that while Shepard was unconscious the Reapers were stopped by Goku using the Black Star Dragonballs and they wouldn't have technically lied.

Really, without details, this doesn't actually change much. Still, skeptically optimistic.

Actually Goku wouldn't be able to kill the Reapers using the dragonballs.

But he wouldn't need to because he is strong to take out a Reaper simply by punching it. His Kamehameha wave could probably clear out all the Reapers around Earth's orbit.

So if the dragonballs were going to be used they would have to be used to bring back Goku, again (he dies an awful lot).
And to my mind that wouldn't be any more plot holey than godchild and might be more agreeable because I love the DB series whereas the godchild was a brand new character inserted at the very last minute to save a plot that seemed like it backed itself into a wall.

Suddently i see a vanguard zapping across my screen

I think the problem is, by the end of the series, Bioware had begun to think of Mass Effect as more than just a videogame series. It was no longer good enough to give their audience a quality story, interesting characters, and branching paths decided by your choices; they wanted to create a work of art that said something more than just "we can overcome any odds."

The fans played a series in which they felt like Shepard was THEIR character; I chose to model Shepard after myself (same name, same looks), and made choices in the game that I agreed with. Plenty of others did the same, and plenty of others created an entirely new character with his/her own distinct personality, and enjoyed living vicariously through their custom-tailored sci-fi epic. The point of the series, to most of us, was that we got to control what happened, and if we were lazy (skipping loyalty missions, not building up EMS, etc), we'd see consequences. That was okay to us.

What wasn't okay, was taking away our game from us in the end. Bioware decided that they wanted to fly in the face of what the series was about, and give us one (more or less) single narrative, and instead of allowing us to choose our own clearly outlined ending, they've tried to get clever, and give us an ending that they think elevates Mass Effect from an epic series to something more.

Not only does it fail, but it's missing the point. If they're going to release DLC that "clarifies" the ending, then what was the point in being vague in the first place? It's fairly obvious that rampant speculation was what they were going for, and also fairly obvious that fans not only weren't expecting that, but didn't want it. So why bother clarifying? It defeats the intended "magical" message of the ending, and at the same time (most likely) won't give fans the ending they wanted, regardless.

I'm hoping the majority of us on this thread are wrong, and that this clarification really does change things for everyone. But given what I think Bioware was aiming for in the first place, I don't think they're going to give us the satisfaction we were hoping for.

Thank you Bioware for teaching me a very important lesson. Never...eeeeevvvvvvveeerrrr pre-order a game again or pay full price. I gave ME 3 8.5, if I remember correctly, that is not worth the 70.00 dollars (US) that I pay for the game. Why? The most important part, the part that diffines the series where Bioware can make a groundbreaking statement end, but we got generic ending from mulitple games in the last 20 years! Pick a color, choose a path, and ect isn't art. It is lazy. You took the easy out here and not live up to your rep as a groundbreaking gaming company. Sorry, I will wait until your games are on the 19.99 or below shelf for now on.

This sums up my feelings after reading this announcement.

OH THIS IS AWESOME! LMAO:lol:

^_^

This needs to be made into a tee shirt and passed out at PAX!

Ahahahaha. Awesome :)))

This is the most awesome thing ever made by organics.
I like how they try to discard any influence on fans outrage for the descision of the extended ending by throwing in the " artistic vision " plenty of times, like saying, we would give you extended ending whenever you liked or not.

there is one thing that bugs me above all else about this whole thing. Its the fact that bioware is up to high on their tall horse and can't be bothered to even think they did anything wrong.

"Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3"

all this tells me is that they think that they are perfect and that they could never do anything poorly but they are going to release a few clips to shut everyone up... It hurts and it sucks when such a great story comes to an end full of plot holes and questions.

So essentially we're getting the cut dialogue from Final Hours, as I kind of expected from the getgo. Fantastic. That's just...fantastic.

*sigh*

I think I'm done waiting; call me when you get your life back together. I'm going back to my Retrogaming spree. Battlezone and Freespace never treated me this way...

I think a lot of people were expecting the "Happy endings DLC" that was humourously pointed to by Penny Arcade. Those guys should really be towards the fringe and failing them getting their own ending exactly as expected Bioware can quite rightly ignore them. They're being too swivel eyed and we should instead be focusing on what Bioware can potentially deliver via what they've issued.

The big hole in the wall for them is that of the Indoctrination Theory, they could use it that way if they wished and many see it as one of the logical choices.

On top of all that though is the Conduit and the Relay Monument, proving that organics can build the Mass Relays if they put enough effort into it. And with all the relays kersploding in the current endings... well, makes sense that everyone would immediately work towards that goal.

Even if IT is true, I doubt that the Extended Cut DLC is going to use it if they didn't planned in advance to do so. IT is too big a selling point and deserves a full game. The current ME3 ending (with IT interpretation) is open like the one in Matrix: Reloaded to wet people's appetite.

Besides, DLCs are usually very short in terms of gameplay time and there's much bigger potential in IT.

If they are starting to pull the entire cast back in, i might start to have some hopes that by the overwhelming negative responses to a simply "it sucks, and this is why", we could maybe, just maaaaybe, get a new ending, even if it has no playability besides some dialogs

Just for god sake, no starbrat crap, scratch it off to a nightmare, pleeeeeeaaaaaaaseeee
