I'm sure plenty of others have caught onto this, but I'm almost certain it is a bug.

The first time you visit Bodahn (after traveling through Lothering) in camp, anything you purchase from him will be restocked the next time you visit. It will only restock itself one time, so make sure you purchase the items you want a duplicate of. This applues to Blood Dragon Gauntlets/Boots/Helm, Dalish Hunter's Belt, The Veshialle (though nobody can afford 131 sovereigns at this stage in the game without cheating), Backpack, etc. I tend to buy 2x Dalish Hunter's Belts, Toxic Extract (for Denerim Quest) and all the poultices/root. Oh, and any gifts he has (I believe he has 2x of Morrigan's gifts, this combined with those purchased in Lothering and conversation allow you to get Morrigan to 90+ before you even leave the first camp, great for Massive Magic).

The downside to this is that any items you sell upon the first visit WILL dissappear forever. I recommend waiting till you purchase all your first visit goodies then zone out and come back, then sell/buy your duplicates. He will then store every item you sell for the rest of the game.
