Believe me I am not too keen on the idea of clarification either, but with proper editing it's possible to make a story appear completely different from what it was originally. Just compare the Original Highlander II to the director's cut if you want proof.
Bioware is giving this to us for free so being long time Bioware fans I think we at least owe it to ourselves to experience this content personally before jumping to the conclusion that the world is going to end or some other nonsense.
I think we owe it to Bioware to at least try out what they're offering us.
