I'm glad it is free. I will hope that it makes me want to play through it more.

If the ending continues to leave me with the sour taste, the DLC, such as Omega DLC won't help. I won't get it.

I was part of retake. We made a concern large enough and I believe that most of us were polite and not spoiled brats. Some were, but that is with all factions. If you are heavily invested in one faction you ... usually.. see what you want to see regarding the other faction.

I don't make threats, or demands. I didn't like L4D2 coming out so soon, but honestly I played the crap out of it and loved it and Valve continued to earn my respect. It was worth the money based on the amount of time I played it.

I was planning on buying ALL of the DLC. If I don't like the ending I won't want to replay or buy DLC. That is all.

Bioware has given us a vague response and we really don't know what the are planning. For some people they want to renew their trust and passion for the ME series but the trust feels lost. For others, just the acknowledgement of some free DLC is enough to get them to calm down.

Ball is in your court Bioware.

I'd rather buy a total overhaul than get this for free.

Agree with you. I was really surprised they made this free for everyone. Great move on Bioware's part. People who are continuing to complain after this.....just stop.

Just because it's free doesn't mean it's good. Just saying. I myself feel i've gotten the middle finger here. But I won't kick up a fuss.

From what we know, we are just getting a cinematic and epilog bit explaining the ending. Shouldn’t that have already been in the game in the first place considering the way the game ended? Makes you wonder if anyone at all on the development team or even better the play testers (if you believe anyone actually play tested this game) sat there after beating the game and said something like “What the F*** just happened? That’s the end?!” when thy got the ending?

No matter how you look at it the ending is messed up and makes no sense at all and compared to the ME1 and ME2 endings sucks for a finale to the story and trilogy.

I have serious doubts about this “fix” and even though it’s a freebie I doubt I’ll waste hard drive space to get it, at least until I see it posted on YouTube or hear what others say about it. The damage is done. To me this is like putting a screen door on a submarine to fix a hole.

There is an old saying:
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

Right, I finally calmed down.

So here's what I gotta say:

I enjoyed the game, I really did. I enjoyed the character development and you can see their growth.

But... What are the writers thinking? The contradictions can't just be rewritten to make them fit somehow.
And frankly this Extended Cut, feels like a 'Shut-up'. To have us stop complaining. I can understand it, don't like it, but I understand it. We as your fans have been laying on the heat and putting on quite a bit of pressure on you people.

But can you just all rationalize it away? How do you justify this?
A lot of your fans and most of them on the BSN did not enjoy the endings, if anything they hated it. So instead of changing what they hate, you're going to expand on it. You're going to make it longer and hope to get a good twist on it.
And what if you can't? Then this entire thing will blow up in your faces and you'll lose a lot of loyal fans. Sure you can get some of them back through out the years, but the ending and the extension will be burned into their minds for the next decade or so.

I know a lot of fans even gave you idea's on what to change, so maybe you are going to use them anyway. It's what I'm hoping.
If you don't it will be a boot in the ass and teeth to your loyal fans.

Either way, I will stay faithful. I'm already nearing the end of my ME1 re-run and I intend on playing all three games after each other.

Good luck.

I don't want to disagree just for the sake of disagreeing, and this is going to look like exactly that, but are you saying that simply because Bioware made it ("it" being, according to the information so far, additional cinematics - of an ending some of us did not enjoy in any way), we (the mentioned ones, who did not like it to begin with) should now grow to like it?

If this is what you are saying, then I respectfully disagree. I cannot speak for everyone, or even for any player other than myself, but I read Bioware's message as a clear "No." (it does say that, verbatim, including the dot :)) to my request. Why would I be happy about that? Not that I suggest rioting in the streets, far from it, just saying I'm entitled to my dissatisfaction :)

That being said, the battle is lost, I agree, and further bringing up the subject is useless and makes us look bad. They win, we lose, let's get over it.

peace

I'm cynic, i'm not waiting much from the DLC, but i'm willing to wait it out, see the content and then i'll decide if i need to vote with my wallet and stop buying BW products. I even bought the ME3 collector's edition as a memento from the series, bit bummed out if they don't fix it well.

Because that's what they announced. I didn't realise you got the super secret press release that nobody else got.

The problem is all of this vitriol is just feeding on itself now. Instead of shutting up for 5 minutes and waiting to see what Bioware will do a bunch of these entitled children have already passed judgment on it because they have an unhealthy investment in a series and unrealistic expectations of what it can offer them.

Since they've already said that they won't be addressing their lies (they didn't actually say it like that, but since they have said that they aren't changing the ending they're leaving the game still falsely advertised) then how are we unreasonable to still be demanding to get the product that we paid for?

So what if they're offering something for free? I didn't pay for the game to come with an epilogue, it makes sense for it to have one, but I want what they told me the game would be and have.

They're still refusing to do that.

I am not being unreasonable, Bioware/EA is.

Maybe we wouldn't have unrealistic expectations if Bioware/EA hadn't promised them in the first place!

Going into things with preconcieved notions started this mess to begin with. I thought people would have learned their lesson by now.

Garbage or not, it's the ending so it's time to just let it go and accept it.

Not that I'm disagreeing it's garbage, but I think this is about as good as it's going to get.

Why should I accept it? Ive spent alot of time in this series to just...accept it? NO!

The difference between a brave man from an ordanary man is that the brave man is brave 5 minutes longer!

It's not really a negotiation. They said no. And that pretty much means no. There's no negotiating.

You can move on and not give them money, and it won't hurt them in the least.

This. At this point, I read some of the crap going on here, but otherwise give the story/campaign boards a wide berth.

I'm not holding my breath, but I have the right to be skeptical.
