I would hate that, myself. One of the best things about the ending is that you actually get hard choices, and the last thing I want is to see Bio let us duck them.
Except the endings didn't even do this effectively. It all goes back to that lack of exposition. The Catalyst just tosses on the line about "killing the Geth/Shepard" like he's trying (and failing) to pose a moral issue. But in the end, the player isn't forced to deal with any ramifications of that decision.
In the Genophage plotline, the player is forced to deal with shooting Mordin (and later Wrex). The Geth/Quarian plotline has you watching either Tali commit suicide or obliterating the Geth people. The ending doesn't do anything close to this. We don't watch the Geth die along with the Reapers. There's no Joker watching in horror as EDI is obliterated. The game forces the player to commit genocide, but fails to capture the despicable nature of the act.
Sure. I didn't mean to imply that they did it well.
I'm just saying that the proposed change would make the endings even worse than they are.

Are you sure you've linked to the right page? When I go to the link, the info is about the Rebellion DLC.
and another one here
That sounds terrible. Why are they focusing on MP maps on earth but we only got 2 measely singleplayer maps on the same planet?
What the hell?

There are two diffirent teams. Besides MP generate money, so if you like EC you may go and play MP.
So what if there are two different teams, they can't work together and share resources?
MP designs the maps and SP team can retrofit it into the game.

I am slightly more hopeful about the EC when I discovered that this thread was unstickied. Perhaps I am looking too much into nothing, but its possible that BW wants to "bury" this thread because the EC changes more than initially promised.
Chris usually removes stickied threads when they need room for more announcements. At least, that's what I think is going on here.

Im sure they do share resourses but not in a way you speak of it. I see no obstacles for bioware to create both multipayer DLC and EC without negative impact on each other.StElmo wrote...

So the EC will be a small "Bonus" to some usual MP DLC. This is Bull**it. Screw it. I can't belive it.
The "And as a bonus" line wasn't in italics, so I'm guessing that was derptemp6698's own words, not the actual descirption (Assuming this is real).

I think the point there is that since the SP team now has some free maps available, they should retrofit them into the game as new SP missions.

2. I have a quick question about the new DLC. Will it affect save files in progress? I kinda want to play ME3 again soon, so can I start now, play to the end and then stop and pick it up when the EC comes out?

It should. I'd make a save before initiating Priority: Earth though.

What's the general consensus for EC? Simple cutscenes and epilogue or something much more?
Well, Bioware SAID that it'll be more than just a bunch of little clips or cutscenes, and I believe they even mentioned something about it possibly being interactive ... but we will see

I also think people underestimate the multiplayer in ME3: I have literaly spent hundreds of hours in it and I think it is a fantastic addition to the game. It shows that game mechanics-wise, ME3 is the best of the mass effect games.

I play ME for the gameplay, not for the story.
Not judging - but that's the reason why you like it and others don't. I never played Mass Effect for the gameplay.

I've 'seen' rumors about EC possibly having interactivity, but none of that has been from a credible, BW source. BW is sticking to the non-gameplay, non-interactive add'l cutscenes for the content of EC. And while BW is at about zero on my consumer confidence index, I have to say on this I'm not thinking they are trying to keep an awesomesauce redux of the end under wraps. If they were really rewriting the end, they'd have been all about saying so - or having the information leaked or it being leaked - several weeks ago. It would have simply been too much of a potential buyer confidence boost to have BW - or someone inside/close to BW - not saying something.
FWIW, YMMV.
