ending...Fine. Why should they change it cause you don't like it? How do
you think you are entitled to more than what they give you?
I'm entitled now? Entitlement is expecting something for nothing. That's not the case at all. We were promised one thing and given another.
What if you bought a house, and the contractor built it, but it wasn't what they told you it would be when you purchased it? That's the same situation as this.
Look you are a troll go back to your dingy cave and stop Flame Bating, and post something constructive, or dont post at all.

I'm not entitled. I bought and paid for a product which in some ways, I find to be unsatisfactory. I am in the process of informing them of this, and while I neither expect or demand that they do something about it, I sincerely hope they do.
I find that the endings do no justice to the series and destroy the story which I had previously enjoyed.
I purchased the content as well. I just can't legally change or distribute it. It's on my hard disk, don't tell me I didn't buy the content itself. It would be an online game in that case.

Very fitting that this is announced the day after EA is named the worst company in America. And wasn't an announcement first originally planned for tomorrow?
making crappy games..........Because it makes money means it is opposite
of a bad company...
No, they find companies that make good games and have a good fan following, buy those companies and start churning out sequels until the company loses it's fanbase. Then they give it a bullet to the head like Origin Systems, Bullfrog, Maxis, Westwood, Mythic, just to name a few...
Pretty much. They just stamp their little EA label on whatever they can put it on.
This seems to me like EA wants some goodwill in their name, and what better way than to speed up this announcement right after the award they received yesterday?
I would love to know at what point in any of my posts I said, or even insinuated, that their work should be for free.

I guess happy ending where Shep lives, reapers are dead and all the species are intact is just too mainstream for BW -.-
I actually I can handle this asa 'good' ending when you worked for it. A slightly less good version would be Shaprd dies, but saves everyone else and getsa decent burial

Very well said. I agree with everything in your post.MassEffectFShep wrote...
This announcement is like Bioware is punching me in the face a second time (the first time being when the credits rolled after the ending and I felt like I was in a nightmare that wouldn't end). Bioware, please don't try to explain to me why you chose the profoundly disappointing ending that you did (because I don't care), why you think it makes sense within the broader context of the story (because it doesn't, it really just doesn't), and PLEASE don't give me cutscenes that make this situation even worse than it already is. I appreciate you trying to fill in the gaping plotholes with a few cinematic moments, but keeping the ending as it is (without offering ANY changes to it, much less alternate endings or a do-over) is and will always be a complete dishonor to the franchise. I cannot conceive of a universe worth becoming attached to in which the story ends that way, even if I know the specifics about how, or even why, it ended that way.
Listen to your fans. We're not asking for that much, and frankly I find it embarassing and painful to keep hearing that you want to maintain your "artistic vision" or "artistic integrity" when I truly failed to see any of that in the ending to begin with. Drop the needless devotion to your artistic whatever, and be open-minded about a more personalized, narratively coherent, and meaningful ending to such an amazing story.

I agree completely - the ending has SLIGHT differences but same results each time. THAT is what has to be addressed. Adding extended scenes won't change this. Bioware is clearly missing the point of the frustrations here with the endings. Even if the DLC is free...

Afterwards the reaction of Shepard to the catalysts suggestions will be explained in great detail by 2 psychologists and one psychiater, down to the mere biochemical reactions in Shepards frontal lobe (really great: a flashgraphic showing the aminoacid-chain interaction of an NMDA-receptor getting activated by a quantum of glutamat). Afterwards the pope himself will speak about the synthesis ending and it`s implications of equal value in each of gods creations and how it is reflected by making not just everyone of equal value but literally equal...that get's spoken in 3 languages, though the default setting is latin.
The Control-ending will be commented and further explained by David Patraeus, chief of the CIA, also referring to the illusion of the "freedom of will" and how we are all already controlled without knowing or noticing it.
The "Destroy" ending will not be explained.
Than some cheesy cinematics show Joker poppin out of thin air to pick up your squadmates just before Harbringer hits them with his lazerbeams, fly up in the sky and gets, without any explanation, the command to "retreat immediatly to safety" by admiral hacket.
Everything explained...
AND IT WOULD STILL BE A BROKEN ENDING! You can not "explain" it away.

In the short term this effort affects the bottom line the least, but looking to the long term I'm thinking this could signal the end of BioWare. Sure, they'll be able to milk ME3 for a while (especially the MP) but any future projects are sure to suffer from all of this. If nothing else, they will be subject to far greater scrutiny than they would have in days past and any "promises" made by the developers will hardly be accepted at face value.

Shepard is the Old God Baby from the Warden and Morrigan.

Not the first time we've had an unresolved plotline as the above statement has indicated. Lighten up folks.

ummm so? You think you would like the ending any more if lucas arts owned them?bleachorange wrote...
Hah. They admitted that Bioware has just been reduced to a label for EA to slap on products. We already knew it when they said Bioware was developing C&C Generals 2, but for them to come out and say it speaks volumes about the amount of control EA has over Bioware. They OWN them, like Coca-cola owns Dr. Pepper, Mello Yello, and Sprite. They have different names, but one group is calling all the shots.
no, but at least george lucas can throw a cliche ending in. i'd take that over this mess of circular logic and gaping plot holes. what i am saying is that it's nice to see the 'man behind the curtain', if you get the reference.
I have no opinion on the extended cut until I play it, other than i'm going in with low hopes. You're putting words in my text here, man. you can't have played it either, yet, unless you have inside access.

I did buy the game itself. I have a nice shiny box with two shiny discs inside of it. I think your definition of 'license' may be slightly skewed.
I said I bought the f****** game, not the trademark or the right to redistribute it. If you walked into my apt right now, took the game, and left, I could sue you in a court of law. That's how much ownership I have.
I just love getting devolved into these little mini-debates with you that have no point or purpose.

According to North American copyright law, the content is the licence, not the disc itself. EA can spin it all they want, but that's not how copyright law works.
The only reason you haven't seen an uproar over the EULA yet is because not enough people have caught on yet about how draconian and restrictive it is.

1. Normandy running away, and other uncharacteristic behavior from firmly established and three dimensional characters
2. teleporting teammates
3. Starchild which would have intervened in ME1
4. relays blowing up, ala arrival, destroy everything in the universe
5. galaxies whole military on a cinder and corpse filled earth, with 2 races that can't eat human food
6. its sci-fi we expect a scientific basis for what we see, not space magic
7. harbinger running away
8. illogical argument of starchild and the fact that the geth I brought disprove his whole argument
9. lack of player control and use of our own and Shepard's common sense
10. Cookie cutter endings
Issac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Douglas Adams, and Philip K. Dick couldn't polish this turd of an ending into a rock, let alone a gemstone of any kind of worth.
