The problem they face is there is not one issue with the endings. There are 3, at least:

1. People want rainbows and unicorns. They don't want the relays blown up or anyone hurt and for the Reapers to go away and the galaxy to be swell.  Those people are never gonna be won over short of the rainbows and unicorn endings.

2. People who want Animal House. This is the clairity/want to know what happened to my squadmates types. This appears to be who bioware is targeting to tell us that Garrus now runs a coffee shop and Tali is part of a vegan commune on Rannoch.

3. People who think the ending makes no logical sense. This can range from people who (wrongly) think blowing up the relays blows up the galaxy to the crowd that thinks the kill organics to save organics is awful logic. This group might be appeased if they flesh out the how and why of things but it doesn't sound liek this is the target group.

I'm in group 3 so I don't expect this to do mcuh for me.

Then again I don't get what the whole issue is. My game ended with Shep and Anderson looking out over the earth waiting for the Cruible to fire and end the Reapers. People keep talking about Sharchild, Space Magic and glowing elevators but that's just made up like the Matrix Sequels or Jaws 5. It never happened.

I agree... Though I'm not quite sure what you mean by Jaws 5 ( If it's Jaws the Revenge we may have to agree to disagree.)  I think everyone should cool down... especially in regards to what the developers said they wanted to do vrs. what we got.  Anyone who has played the Fable series after hearing the hype generated before their release can see the pattern.:pinched:

I know that BioWare knows that they had better provide something amazing or... they may just be finished.

Right now I think what is needed is clarification....

not of the ending but of the DLC that is meant to clarify the ending.

Will it just be cinematics & epilogue or will there be playable content
Will there be aditional dialogue
Are they just planning on trying to explain the ending or will they add new content that fixes some of the percieved plot holes and inconsistancies with the current endings
...and the list goes on - hopefully the ME Panel at Pax will shed more light on this).

The more I think about it, the more I get a "Look at the cute dumb puppy! Your so stupid, but adorable! Here's a treat!" vibe from Bioware...

You know EA/BW for once i really would like you to listen your fans instead on spamming on us your PR/advertising techniques full of lies. I'm a gamer and a customer and i would like to be treated with respect since you make a living out of our money.

I never asked for free stuff and was willing to pay for an additional ending/expansion pack while you didn't listen that and think that patching several cinematic sequences will solve the problem. The ending of this game is broken and it ruins not only ME3 (which is a nice game overall) but also the entire ME franchise.

Recognizing a mistake is a gesture of wisdom and since the ultimate judges of your products are the customers, it appears clearly that you did a mistake with the endings since the MAJORITY of your fans did not like the endings. Defending the undefendable is on the other side a sign of narrow mindness if not of outright stupidity. People want better endings and the majority of them are willing to pay for it.

So EA/BW do yourself and ourself a favour: cut the crap with the artistic nonsense and provide what we ask for. It's just business, let art out of this for people that are actually producing art. I want from you to be entertained and NOT artistically stimulated ( in which you are very bad at by the way). If i want to see art i would prefer to go to the museum or to an exhibition. Certainly i would not watch a plothole ridden/poor written ending.

Best Regards

A fellow Gamer and Customer

Welcome to captialism, my friend.

Nothing in that entire article (other than the fact that most of it was here-say and unconfirmed)  is illegal or "corporate meddling" in the end, it's business and it's what everyone is doing.

Which is why most development teams are ****ed in the long run anyway.

It's free. That's a step in the right direction.

Indeed.

Of course it's free. It is only some cutscenes. I will save my opinion on this 'content' for when I actually get a chance to see it; however, I don't think they should get a pat on the back for releasing unplayable content for free. As bad as some companies' business practices are, I have yet to see one that actually charged for cutscenes.

Do they get kudos for actually releasing something at all? Of course they do. It sure is better than nothing at all. I just don't like the way they are touting the 'and it's free for you, our fans!" as if that is something to be proud of. Don't take credit for something you are supposed to do (the giving it for free part, not the making new content part).  They should say something closer to "...and obviously it will be free". This is kind of the equivalent of watching a deleted scene from a movie on a DVD you already paid for.

this isn't the end of bioware. WE, the people, asked for one to two things: To change the endings completely, or to add content that make the endings something that Shepard deserved. From what I am reading on these forums, the time and money that it would have taken to make completely new endings was both unrealistic and not worth the time.

And who the hell are you to decide what Shepard deserves?

You're a PLAYER.  Nothing more.  Shut your whiny, entitled mouth.  If you don't like it, go away like others are threatening to do.

Hi you might have heard of me Im the guy who payed about 150$ for this series and was promised various things about the ending that weren't true... so I apologize sincerly for asking the company who developed the games to fix it.

And btw: why exaxtly is it that you use the phrase "Shut your whiny, entitled mouth" here? cause I read Azgoroth's post and it really isn't offending anyone

But he's right you know.  Shepard doesn't deserve an ending that make sense.  Its not like he was trying to save all life in the galaxy or anything ;)

Very fitting that this is announced the day after EA is named the worst company in America. And wasn't an announcement first originally planned for tomorrow?

I am sure they became one of the largest game companies ion the world by
making crappy games..........Because it makes money means it is opposite
of a bad company...

No, they find companies that make good games and have a good fan following, buy those companies and start churning out sequels until the company loses it's fanbase. Then they give it a bullet to the head like Origin Systems, Bullfrog, Maxis, Westwood, Mythic, just to name a few...

Pretty much.  They just stamp their little EA label on whatever they can put it on.

This seems to me like EA wants some goodwill in their name, and what better way than to speed up this announcement right after the award they received yesterday?

Have to agree...can't believe they killed Westwood. It seems the only thing that is keeping EA even alive anymore is the sports franchise that they monoploized.

After all this I am through with Bioware and EA , Bioware ruined the only franchise I cared about and EA wants to slap an online pass on everything even single player games to squeeze more money out of people.

Heck I am more intersted in Vin Diesels new video game than either of these companies new releases now.

Cause no one buys things like the Sims and dead space and star wars and battlefield and sim city and need for speed and ect. ect. ect. ect. ect.

I can't comment on the Sims, as I have never played any version of it (doesn't seem like my thing).  Dead Space was fine without MP, and didn't need it in the sequel, which to my understanding the MP sucked.  Battlefield is the only game you just listed I agree with, I own BF3 and still play it sometimes.  The only genre/game series I truly think EA does a good job with is the sports games; if you're heavy into sports like myself, I think most will agree that they churn out good ones.

And by the way, you saying "etc etc etc etc" only further strengthens my point, "EA puts their little stamp on whatever they can".

Hope there will be Teammates (old and new) endings included, before Shepard does what he/she has got to do.

Also pointless laundry, because it has little to do with this, but thats not here nor there honestly.

That said, the big issue hitting EA is rapid growth without expansion.

It's kind of like a country being given railroad tracks to trade goods, but no one knows how to be a conductor. Sometimes, bigger is not always better. Since BioWare was an acquisition that was out of their hands (they were sold by their parent company when the parent went bankrupt) there was little they could do, but at the same time, they still do amazing things irregardless to what some believe.

So the real question then is, who is at fault. The answer, everyone. The devs for miscalculating the ending, the company for employing dirty tactics and the adoptions of not-so-savory methods, the fans, for acting childish for the most part during the whole process, and the reviewers, for being blind, aloof, or uncaring to the whole thing.

I don't know why everyone's so up-in-arms. Everyone hates the endings because nothing makes sense and everything is full of holes. I agree with that 100%. But how will them explaining why things are the way they are NOT fix the fundamental problems with this ending?

There are a LOT of awesome plot points in this series that would sound utterly retarded if you just explained them without giving any backstory to make them plausible.

Have a little faith, people. They're trying.

You couldn't have honestly expected them to spend all the time and resources it would have taken to take out the old ending, come up with a completely new one, and then implement that in a FREE DLC? Am I really the *only* one who thinks that is ridiculous?

Forgive the laziness (i.e., not reading 45 pages of a thread) in case this has been answered already, but: will we need to beat the game again in order to see the new cut scenes?

You should have an automatic save just before the (far to short - in my taste) battle for earth, so you'll only have the Huskateers and Marauder Shields up against you... hm... and a few brutes and Banshees, and more Marauders (also with shields, but not as heroical as Marauder Shields)... a few Cannibals might drop in also. ;)

True. I should. I'm just kind of tired of the final battle after re-doing it to see the three endings. Maybe by the summer I won't be so bored with them. Was kinda hoping for a "You already beat the game, so here are the extra scenes!" option, but that might be asking for too much.

Hehe, I was hoping for even more, but in the end, I don't really mind taking the difficulty down from insanity to easy to get an ending I can actually understand. Beat the game on insanity anyways... nothing left to prove, just need to understand what I actually did...:lol: :pinched:

Haha, I feel incredibly dim for not having thought about this before. (Lack of) Challenege Accepted!

I'm sure you can do it. If you need help, please contact the official EA helping board... :bandit::D:innocent:
