On one hand it is good that bioware are sticking to their so called artistic vision, and the fact they bothered to do this at all, let alone for free, shows they are at least listening to fans concerns (though judging the strength of feeling over the endings they probably didnt have much choice).
On the other hand however I doubt this will be enough to placate fans (myself included) who thought the endings were terrible. If they only attempt to expand or clarify the original endings people will still be unsatisfied because at the end of the day they still have 16 endings that are essentially the same (unless they change the cinematics or offer DAMN good epilogues to each seperate ending) and I honestly don't think any amount of explaining will fix them into anything that gives the mass effect series even half of the ending it deserves. Still, We dont even know what will be in this extended cut so lets wait and see. after all, anythings possible

I'm out.
I could take the bad ending, sure, you can't hate someone for bad writing.
But I'm done with these PR statements that just boil down to "F**k you, were awesome".
I'll save my money for Valve from now on.
Quoted with great praise. Is the guy who runs this "artistic vision preservation society" under Bioware employ or EA i wonder.
EA customer relations, I guess. Just one other PR-initiate, putting his new "communications-skills" to the test.

I hope you have a greater plans associated with these closures and clarifications... Such as continuation DLCs (Indoctrination attempt or something...Anything).
You MUST understand that people will never be content with one generic ending. You cannot just squeeze everything back to a single path. It's insulting for us. We all thought Sheppard's story (OUR STORY), what we did, would have a determinant effect on it's outcome.
You must, at least BRANCH OUT the ending in several different outcomes with some form of epilogue regarding surviving NPCs, galactic nations and "our" love interest. Does endings can all be bitter sweet to some extend, but color coding? Seriously?
You have driven us to passion with this story because we felt that it made sense and that, for once, we had some degree of control over the outcome of our journey... Not only did you deprive us from it, you literally crushed our moral and time investment with an outcome that makes the reapers look like saviors. This killed all replay value for me...
I am disappointed. I feel cheated... But there is still hope!
Have a nice day!

I have been with Bioware since the days of Baldur's Gate. So I am willing to give them another shot and see how this ending "Clarification" plays out and then decide if they are still worth my time and money.
Good luck Bioware. Please don't F*** this up.

I'm done with bioware, and I'm not touching any product with any member of the ME3 team.

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team's artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.[/list]
Space magic wins, mediocrity wins. Enjoy.
RIP ME3.

No, it won't. The only plot holes they are going to fix are the ones that are created by missing cinematic content in the ending (most noteably the Joker/Normandi escape-from-earth-and-crashland-on-a-jungle-planet thing).Sidney wrote...

"Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3"
How can anyone who despises the ending in its current form be possibly satisfied with this anouncement??
Sometimes I really don't get people...
The logic has to be that they will clairify the plotholes or lack thereof as they see it. Maybe it all does make sense and hold togther once they explain it.
Best case? They will also have new ending cinematics that actually differ from each other. Absolut best case? Joker will even be so nice as to pick up Shepard on his way to jungle planet.
But if anyone thinks that this expansion will fix a noticable amount of plot holes than they are kidding themselves...

Or you know, that ****ing huge Citadel falling to pieces on Earth making the dinosaur extinction seem like a cakewalk.
Or the Quarians and Turians left to starve to death, stranded in Sol while the entire Geth race gets slaughtered by Starbrat.
<sigh> Oh, lest I forget : do add more "synthetic DNA" please; I can't get enough of it.
There you have it. You drove our morale into the ground. You blew what little calm and politeness there was in us.
You know, I was there, during Westwood's final years, all the way up to C&C4. That game too was supposed to bring closure to an epic story. That game too drove the franchise into the ground.
Funny how those responsible for C&C4 are now under the BioWare brand...
Alas, I've been through this before... my sincere regards to all the great devs, both past and present, that made this company shine. You've been a great source of inspiration for me and I'll remember you for all the great moments there were !
Good luck out there.

I really liked how the Rachni were integrated into the final battle. All those soldiers swarming over the Reapers really gave me a sense that my decisions mattered, you know? I mean, you guys said a while ago that they'd play a big role in the final battle, and man, you totally delivered. The new DLC isn't going to, say, remove that and reduce the Rachni decision to a simple hundred points of war assets, is it?
Oh my gosh, I know! Wasn't that the best scene ever!!
I have absolute faith that this Extended Cut will be able to explain away the fact that every system with a Mass Relay was destroyed in the ending. I am sure they will not include any of the home planets; Earth, Tuchunka, Palaven, Thessia, Illium, Omega, etc., in the extended cut, because they are all gone now. And I am sure they will not include any military vessels, like the Destiny Ascension, in the Extended Cut, because they should pretty much be wiped out now as well. And I am 100% positive this Extended Cut will not have our favorite characters finding each other on backwater planets, because they have no way to travel the galaxy to get to each other anymore.
I am positive we will get a Giligan's Island redo with the remaining crew of the amazing prescient Normaandy making it work on whereever they managed to crash in whatever solar system that planet's in. (Which by the way, they would have had to leave the solar system with the mass relay they bounced into, and then head out into that star cluster to....) FUBAR
Yeah, I am waiting with baited breath....
