So awesome. Bioware did exactly what I said and what they needed to do. I'm so happy they didn't get pushed by the fans. They stood up for their ending just like I thought they would and that is what I wanted. Bioware is the best. Awesome thanks. Although I loves the ending I will be downloading the dlc, I want to see what they do.

So  awesome. I am so happy for you that you have the ability to draw happiness from the fact that thousands over thousands of people have suffered a severe disappointment, frustration, dissatisfaction and loss of time invested in a franchise. Great for you to have gotten what you wanted.

With such simple appetites I am not surprised you like the ending at all.

I just think the people at BioWare didn't anticipate Mass Effect fans to be quite this stupid.

Fixed that for you.

BioWare can spray as much whipped cream on the pile of s hit they call Mass Effect 3, as they want. S hit is s hit.

Ah...but it IS that many people.  Take a gander at Amazon for USER reviews of ME3.  The rating was and remains in the toilet.  Over a thousand reviews (a sample in statistics speak) and the OVERWHELMING majority tank it...on the ending.  Sales are down, the price has plummeted below prices of other game released at the same time OR EVEN BEFORE.  Demand is down because the game rating is in the basement and actual professional reviewers that actually looked at the game (Forbes is particularly a case in point) TANK the ending.  Word is out.  MOST people friggin' HATE the ending and it spoils the game (and sales).

They have to if they want to sell ME3 DLCs. Hell they may even release it simultaneously with another DLC.

I played the game, had a horrible experience, so horrible that made me feel empty inside for few days. It happened, done. Now they try to look innocent, live up to their mundane "we're listening" image.

Decline.

Mass Effect 3 sold millions of copies; so that's still not that many people.

So you review-bombed it. Well good on you; that's not a statistic though, that's nerdrage.

I'm going to be optimistic for now.

The ending was so short that Bioware are in effect free to state "clarification" to save face whilst in reality they're making changes. Even if they keep the dialogue for the start child (and add more to it for "clarification") there's so little dialogue in game at present that a change to their vision may go unnoticed as we have so little information to compare before and after with.

But maybe they really can explain the plotholes away, they are the artists after all who thought all of this out in the first place. They may have just delivered it poorly/hastily to their audience on this occasion due deadlines for the release.

However, I'm not sure if any ending is going to be embraced at this point. If their vision had been explained from the beginning (assuming it is plot hole free) rather than conveyed in such a way that it was perceived as multiple plotholes I think the fans would have been significantly happier at this point. Now the disappointment has raised expectations to a point where I think that whatever Bioware do they'll have significantly less satisfied customers than if they had explained their vision properly from the beginning.

Bioware became great because of specialising in good in depth role play games. If they move away from that more into action games I think they're making a mistake. If you're good at something (so good that many consider you to be the very best) and make lots of money doing it, don't stop doing it. If you want to broaden your market to appeal to a wider audience, do that ALSO rather than INSTEAD of what you are so good of doing.

Not that I care about what any of you think, but...
METALPUNKS is happy  with this ending and that the ending doesn't change. The fact that fans are disappointed in ending is another matter.

We're looking at tens of thousands of players who were dramatically upset about the godawful ending to the extent where they're forming organised movements and donating $80,000 to charity. That is not an acceptable reaction to a consumer product.

First of all. Thank you for the announcement, and i hope that the dlc will great. Its really great that you are making the effort to adress some of the concerns, even if many feel left out.(cant please everyone)

that being said. Im really confused to be honest. It seems like the FAQ is pretty clear on what we should expect, but then when you read tweets from various bioware people they are hinting at a completely different style of dlc.

So which is it? If you havent decided yet on what exactly it contains then it seems rather strange to make a FAQ . Its things like this that really annoy me, constant conflicting information, it just makes it look like there is something to hide and its really unprofessional.

Its becomming really hard to believe anything official from you atm.

And im not trying to sound ungrateful or step on anyones toes here, im just really confused by the mixed signals.

No.  Not review-bombed.  ALL the reviews are considered, non-ranting.  Statistical sampling is accurate.  Sorry, fact.

The VAST majority of people HATE the ending.  There have been returns (Amazon was giving refunds).  The price HAS fallen hard.

The early sales were on pure hype, not on actual user opinion.  Now the user opinion is out and the game suffered.  They will NOT make the DLC money they anticipated or hoped for.

They will also cancel the movie plans.  I'd just about guarantee it...though they may still be stupid enough to go for the BIG TANK at the box office and really lose it.

The price has fallen hard? On Amazon.com from 59.99 to 49.99 after a couple of weeks? Kingdoms of Amalur is a few weeks older and is down from 59.99 to 39.99.
This is completely norma!

Sorry but you're full of crap. Mass Effect 3 is doing fine, despite a minority of intellectually handicapped 'fans'.  "Fact".

Also, BioWare's team is apparently agreed that the ending is great; just some rather vocal people didn't get it.
That's why they're releasing the Idiot DLC. To explain it to you. Patiently, like.

Ouch, you guys got burned.

So, you're saying that aside from the 70000 retakers, EVERBODY loved the ending. That is stupid on so many levels.

Nope, but aside from the 'retakers' nobody was so bothered by it to demand it changed. Amirite?

Call of Duty: MW3, released Nov. 8; price: 59.99 today, April 6, price: 59.99, on the steam store it didn't even go on sale.

I think aside from people on this forums nobody cares about game enough to worry about ending. That's my theory.
