this announcement killed my hopes for me3 °_° i don't even have the will to play MP anymore....it's just pointless. The thing i don't understand is this : WHY you want us to experience this SAD ending? C'mon the only way to let our Shepard live requires that we kill all the syntetics, geth and EDI, who i worked soo hard to keep peace with? Even if we play a perfect game, saving almost everyone and losing a few friends we get to chose if we suicide or kill our new syntetics friends? THIS sucks! ME was a great story cuz in the end you always had the feelings you did it right, you completed your mission! In me3 i didn't get that feeling, it was just sad and unpleasant....the only place we usually get a win-win situation are vidogames, you want to change that for the sake of art? screw that! let us save the characters we like so much and get the happy ending they deserve. I'm really disappointed, that wasn't entertaining at all, if i want to feel i just need to look at the news, i want to feel good playing a game. Bah.

When they are presented with stuff that to them obviously doesn't make any sense, and then they find out that there lots of others who think the same way, You'd have to try really hard to tell them that they are all wrong, and you are the only one who got it right.

Because - what shocking news - ME was  not about saving Shepard so he can live with his LI long and happy.
It was about saving freaking universe from freaking Reapers! Of course if you are so bent on having your Shepard's alive you can have it! All you need  is to blow up your friends, allies and enemies alike.

I will check out the DLC when it comes out. I suppose the epilogues AFTER the 3 options will indeed reflect more of our choices, so the 3 endings will likely be more varied in their consequences than they are now.
That being said, it doesn't fix the main problems: That a peripheral theme is suddenly declared to be what it's been about all the time, and then one that has been disproven up to two times (depending on style of playthrough) within the plot, that Shepard acts out of character etc.
But you still want to do this?
Yeah, it's just a game, and I will go on with my life no matter what happens. But it's a disappointing way to finish this story that I liked very much.

It's a bit like trying to explain Shakespeare to a chimpanzee.. you can't really expect much more than having poop flung in your general direction.

You don't even realize how insulting many of you are being, do you?

They'd be stupid not to have people hired to act as fifth column among consumers.

I may think alot of things about EA, but stupid regarding money and marketing is not one of them.

If you're not paid they're just happy for the extra hands at work without additional costs.

ohhh thanks i didn't get it....i was waiting for a game to teach me you can't save the galaxy unless you kill yoursefl or all your friends. What a blast, now  even games are getting depressing.  Guess i'll wait for a teletubbies game, hope i get an happy ending there at least.

Played Mass Effect 2? Shepard and his crew ended up in this total crazy suicide mission.
In my save all of them came out alive, out of a suicide mission! incredible!
I want to continue this, in one of the 16 mentioned endings.

And since there should be 16 endings there would be even space for an ending where you kill of all your friends and save the galaxy nevertheless, if you wish. In the end there will alway be people who complain. But this whole situation was only able to gain momentum because the end of Mass Effect 3 stepped out of the linie that ME1 and 2 had drawn.

At first I felt bad for him/her because he is defending a very lonely viewpoint....But all the crap that comes from his keyboard kind of shows s/he deserves to be ganged up on.  Even if s/he deserves it for no other reason than it's funny to read a 23 yr old's attempts at defensive logic through mudslinging.

Thank you Bioware for doing this. I appreciate what you are doing and cannot wait to see what parts are expanded upon as that was my major issue with the ending (too short and no closure). I've enjoyed your games for years at friends' places and have just recently started acquiring personal copies. I eagerly await news on your next projects (mainly DA Team and C&C: Generals 2 right now) and am glad to be a fan of this company.

From the way the announement reads (to me), they are not going to alter how the ending plays out.  They are just going to drop in some new dialogue/scenes that help explain things.  That's because the original ending was so 'craftily written' that it just flew over everyone's head and no one understood or even like it.

So basically after you get the DLC and get to the end, the same sequence of events are going to happen, (warp to citadel, meet GodChild, pick your favorite color) but this time they are going to add some lines to explain wtf is going on.  But that's just what I took away from the announcement.

I get that what in asking are the extended cuts going to play out differently?
