They have a lot of guts insulting the fans with such a pathetic offering. This is only going to drive away more people and soon bioware won't exist and EA will be struggling for cash like so many other companies who are ruled by greed and people who have no clue about the game industry.

Those hipsters got what they wanted. The ending wont be changed, no new ending options will be made (even though promised before release many endings), no way for those that want Shepherd to survive with blue babies, just this hip seperate story added in after no boss fight and total roll reversal of the morality system. Illusive Man becomes Paragon... HIP! Anderson becomes Renegade... HIP! The supposed "Good" Options forces Homogenization on all life. All endings kill everyone except your crew... HIP!
Those are options.
Why not for those who are not hip like me get a chance to not commit Genocide... NOT HIP! Know what happened to any of the races we united and their home planets... NOT HIP! Survive the events of mass 3... NOT HIP! Sacrifice Shepherd to save the Asari, Turians, Salarians and other Council/Non-Council races... NOT HIP! Question the company for not coming through on things they promised... NOT HIP!

No surprise here. We're living in a capitalist culture that doesn't care about integrity of any kind. Except that of money. So, no matter how strong we held the line it was in vain.
Pretty much sums it up. Our whole culture has degraded to this. Except for maby someone living in their mothers basement who never had to pay bills or a mortgage, most people will do anything for money, but what worse is that they refuse to take the high road to get said money. The thing that shocks me is people defending gigantic companies that they dont work for against other people like themselves. I miss the day when people would stand up against companies, governments or any organization and other people would either ignore them or help. Now companies, governments and other organizations get the benefit of free damage control from people triyng to convince you that your feeling of being cheated is actually wrong even when sources are shown and the commercials are still playing that are obvious lies. This is the biggest and most shocking change to our society and the big companies bank on it. I sure hope EA comes to their defense when they are under attack or if they are laid off.

/wave BiowEAr it's been fun for all those years but you won't fool me again with your false advertizing and PR stunts ,have fun trying to sell me your next titles. I'm gonna vote with my wallet and it will be closed from now on.
I was already skipping all EA's title exept Bioware because i still had hope that they would continue to make quality games but they want to hide behind artistic bullcrap? I'm gone . Bye

Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
- No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of
this arc ofthe Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.
Fixed that for them.

What truly baffles me is that they have made sure to deliver a brilliant, remarkable, epic experience with their Mass Effect series. And yes, despite several inconsistencies and even with the dumbing down the third installment has received I still think most of the game is a masterpiece when it comes to immersive gaming.
The pacing is spot on, I truly care about the characters, the story still makes more than enough sense to not completely cripple the game.
And this is probably why people simply cannot grasp how Bioware can be proud of what they have done with the ending. Because it just does not fit the rest of the series, and it does not even fit the rest of this very game.
Now this is only speculation, but what I think has happened is that Bioware made endings and EA was not entirely satisfied.
This is the same problem as with the Dragon Age franchise. After Origins, the Big Bad is gone. So DA2 was set out to fail in the "epic feeling" department from the get go, just because the first game has successfully dealt with the end of the world. You cannot realistically do better than that. And going with what people say (and what I think) it really did fail. Not only was one of the last bastions of PC roleplay gaming turned into a console arcade-fest, they evenmanaged to completely butcher any sense of a storyline. I have completed DA:O several times, but I never managed to complete DA2. I just got bored with the lack of a gripping story. Bored with the repetitiveness of the zones, with the abundance of trash that simply blinks into existence. It felt so cheaply done. As if they were trying to stretch the game that they have not put enough content in to make a full game.
For me, Bioware have ruined the Dragon Age franchise. I do not think I will ever buy anything Dragon Age related ever again, even though I truly loved the first game.
Now we have Mass Effect. A game that was a gaming culture phenomenon. A game that has united console and PC gamers and sucked them into its brilliant universe. A franchise that was planned to end after 3 games. But this is where the problems begin. Because, with the Big Bad defeated and all races unified, having sorted out their differences because, well, they had to... what is still left to do? Like in DA2, not much. At least not enough to continue milking the cash cow franchise.
But if they leave in enough destruction, enough despair and enough misery, they can build a new game on top of that. Which I think is exactly what has happened. We were not allowed a decent set of endings because the franchise was still needed to make more money.
And about the "ego" thing? I think they are not allowed to actually do anything about it. Would you own up and say "yeah, what we have done sucks arse, but we are not allowed to do anything about it"?
What baffles me more than Bioware being coerced into making this ending (and I am in fact giving them the benefit of doubt just because the rest of the game was so good) is EA not actually thinking about the long-term effects. They have already managed to kill off the Dragon Age franchise with DA2. They now have managed to turn the Mass Effect franchise from "will pre-order without hesitation" into "yeah.. might buy when it hits the bargain bin" with the ME3 ending. Then add to that SW:ToR. SW:ToR isn't horrible per se, it just does not live up to the hype. It would have been a well enough done WoW clone if it had been some small company with little funding. It is unacceptable coming from a company that has so much experience in making games and has a huge enough funding to make everything fully voiced.
Basically, if they want to get their fans back, they need to do something. And do something really quickly, because at this rate they will be bleeding fans quite soon.
