Gumbeaux, I like your attitude. But I figure you've not been playing the MP like crazy- 20-30 spectre packs won't come close to getting you everything. Those N7s are really, really rare. But hold onto that. It's about the game, not the shiny new weapon.

N7s are SO rare that they are not even awarded in packs at all! infact they are only awarded if you complete the community events!

I got a talon pistol with the n7 tag from a normal spectre pack a week ago

I though N7 weapons were unlocked in spectre packs after getting it in the commendation pack.

There are two types of weapons when it comes to N7 weapons:

1. The weapons that have the N7 title in front of them that you get from commendation packs only.
2. N7 Rarity weapons, which you can only get from the spectre packs.

I have not been playing like crazy but have been playing a lot for me. Approx. 10 hours/ week (I have full-time job, wife, and 2 kids) and it is a perfect setup for me... Like I said I only have the Mattock II and I don't have any rare weapons except level I GPR. I do have some great characters unlocked though. I am really happy with the game, and I suppose I am the majority, and probably slightly higher than the majority of gamers. I don't think the system is set up very well for people who are playing A LOT like most of the forum users in MP.

You have a great attitude about all this.  I got a black widow on the fourth or fifth pack I bought using real money and was super excited at the time.  Then I realized that my best char was the asari adept so I hardly ever use it now.  I feel pretty bad every time I've given in to the "just 5 more packs, it's only $10!" impulse.  It's not a question of money, it's just that it feels "wrong."  I suppose I want to be on a level playing field with the elite players who can play 12 hours a day when I can only play for one or two max.

The other day someone showed me another "glitch" that lets you stand behind one of the consoles in firebase white that doesn't let the banshees or brutes overrun it.  It makes gold much easier but takes the fun away.  You can still die pretty easily but if you have even a half decent group, you'll be fine.  I was excited and was gamely playing along with the group but we wiped in wave 8 or 9.  I left immediately after, feeling "gross" about it.  It's way more enjoyable when you're playing for your life scrambling to survive.

Either way, I'm no longer going to be using real money.  It feels bad enough normally, however, with the fact that cheaters are getting millions of credits per hour with no consequences, it feels even worse.

I am owning the gold with mantis on my infiltrator and predator/phalanx on my adept. Rares and ultra rares are not that important. Spending money to get them is wrong. what would you do if you got all weapons? be a better player? Not really.

BW or N7 Valiant is night-day difference to Mantis.

I have:
Widow IX
Wraith II
Talon I
Paladin I
Scorpion I

And I feel like I have nothing because I don't have the Javelin or the Black Widow. Well, I use the Widow pretty often and love it. But because of that I'll probably still throw a five'r into the ring here and there. I mean, I do enjoy the multiplayer and the money supports it and any new content.

I have just been having great luck in this game. I think other than the paladin and talon I have all the other N7 weapons. Got my consumables up to 4-5 and only missing the krogan sentinel.

Really want a BW at level V but I'm not in a hurry, the basic BW I have works jusssst fine.
In one month of play I have:
Widow V: got my first widow in my first veteran pack
Carnifex: got it in a veteran pack as well after only playing for 1 week
Black widow: got this is one of my first 10 spectre packs
Javelin: got this right after I got my BW.
Scorpion, Saber: got them in the same pack after playing for 2 weeks.
Claymore: have no idea when I got this, just discovered I had this when equipping my soldier.

So I feel for all of you not getting what you want, but it really isn't something I can relate to.

I honestly can not believe people are falling, or rather, knowingly jumping head first straight into Evil Arts' trap and spending real currency on these things. Shame on you all.

LOL, people actually buy item packs with real money??? What is this I don't even. Plus, it defeats 62.661% of the purpose of playing ME3 multiplayer in the first place.

These people serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things, and we need to embrace them for what they do. Without them, Bioware and EA wouldn't be able to say that ME3 multiplayer is a moneymaker. Because it is, we have a higher liklihood in getting new content for multiplayer for free rather then paid-for DLC. Bioware won't want to split up the player base by seperating people by DLC walls, so these people are helping assure that the multiplayer will only get better.

I realize it seems strange and crazy that people would want to pay money for packs, but its a time vs money proposition. If someone has less time then they have money, and they're willing to pay for packs, then they have the option. It's important to note that there's nothing inherantly evil about Bioware providing the option. Options are how you keep your customers happy.

Please stop alienating and attacking our pay-to-play comrades. We who do not pay provide the people to play alongside for the paying players to play with, and we all profit as a result in a continually supported game. This is the basic idea of how a 'free to play' game works, and these people are the SOLE reason Bioware will continue to provide content and support for multiplayer.

Why spend real money when there is in game currency?

You people confound the mind.

Time is money.  Maybe the OP works and has a busy life outside of video games.

Well, it is random and choosing to spend real money on it is your incentive.

And our suffering. Its why they'll really implement reloading your gun for 1$ one day and still find people paying for it.

Except in this game, you could assume that you are already paying for reloading your gun by spending money on Packs which might in return give you the Supply Kit, letting you reload your gun. So in theory your not only spending 1$ for the reload... you spend it for the chance to get a reload. Thats even better :)

So do i, and yet i don't reward them for this flawed system, so it will not only stay but be featured in many future products, until eventually you have to pay for the Multiplayer Portion in Singleplayer games on top of the model, once they figure out people would pay for that too.

claymore and geth plasma shotties are very very good weapons - might as well use them since you spent some hard earned cash on them.

Your not supporting it, your making your own life miserable. Videogames had quite alot Multiplayer Parts back in the day. Videogames used to release Addons without making you pay for it. Until someone figured out they could make some people pay for it.

Ever since they sneak in more and more of these things, until eventually you have to pay not only for the game, but every single little element.

And seriously, EA does make enough money, they don't really need your support. Bioware is just a devision of EA.

Wikipedia on Bioware wrote...

Electronic Arts announced on June 24, 2009, that they are restructuring their RPG and MMO games development into a new group that includes both Mythic Entertainment and BioWare. This newly formed team (now called the BioWare Group) will be led by Ray Muzyka, co-founder and General Manager of BioWare. With this change, Muzyka becomes Group General Manager of the new RPG/MMO studio group. BioWare's other co-founder, Greg Zeschuk, will become Group Creative Officer for the new RPG/MMO studio group. Rob Denton will step up as General Manager of Mythic and report to Muzyka, later becoming Group Operations Officer of the new Group. BioWare's studios remain unchanged and continue to report to Muzyka

I am aware its not the best source, but i am to lazy to hunt for the press release. Rather buy an Indi title or something to support upcoming developers in their endeavors so we will have, in 10 years from now, still Videogames like this. ME wouldn't have existed in this form if not for the endeavors of Bioware before EA bought them. EA isn't exactly know for innovation.

I don't like it but I bet they are raking in the $$$. They knew exactly what they wanted from the gamers and are getting it. A little too ambitious with some stuff and way too many bugs but I haven't enjoyed a game this much in quite a while.

I actually like the feeling of progress... and spending money to immediately go out and get the best guns seems so pointless to me. I just unlocked the Mattock II and I felt so good when it happened. I don't just want 10 or 20 spectre packs and all the good shotties, sniper rifles, pistols, etc. I really enjoy unlocking them one by one and going out and trying them. That is the reward I get from this game... It is not from having all the best stuff right away.

While I may share your feelings and general views on the matter on one thing I cannot agree. I got myself Mattock X through patient mass buying of Veteran packs and hate every single version of it. That gun is just as pleasant as being kicked in the a**e.
